We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler Trip, PTR - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great news that your Mom will be joining you. Sorry you've had so many changes - I hope they settle down for you. Good Luck getting your autograph books done.
Your plans sound great!!! Glad your Mom can join you!!!
Thank you so much Susan! It will be nice for mom to come!
BTW, please don't be surprised if you see any pictures where I am wearing my Bears Devin Hester Jersey in my TR (it is only appropriate to wear in Florida). It is making it's way into my suitcase for this trip. I know your DH & DS love them!

I know I mentioned we took of a day of Disney from our trip, but it will still be a fun day i it is nice and sunny out. We're planning to spend the day at the beach. I am very excited about this, since I requested we go to a beach about a 15 minute drive from my mom's home called the Singer Island Beach. It is huge, not very crowded, either we will bring lunch or they have a Subway there, and tons of shops around it. This was always my favorite beach as a child and we loved going there. This will be Skyler's first time ever going to the beach. Luckily mom will be there so we will have 2 of us to go in the water with him. I love the beach, but sadly even beaches around us in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia Beach (no offense to those who live in those states/areas) is just way too cold for me to enjoy a dip in the water without feelig like I need to wear a full body dry suit to stay warm. I can't wait to jump into the water at the beach in Florida(so missed).
Also in the area my mom lives in, there is a pool, so we may do some sfwimming while we're at her place. Now I am even more happy I got some beach balls and Skyler a sand pail, so I know those will come in great use at the beach. I have also asked my mom if we could go by another place of mine that Skyler may enjoy. About 10 miles up the road from her is a place called The Marine Life Center. They have sea turtles, mainly loggerheads, that they rescue from the ocean and get them ealthy again to retrn back to the ocean. It is such a fun place to visit, and you can visit all the big pools they have with each turtle in it.
Too cool about your mom getting to go with you! I wish just me and my mom could go to disney. We are really the best of friends and she has never been with me due to some medical problems. But she recently had a surgery that I think will make it more possible for her to go! So, I am excited to hear she can go and help out.
I agree about the beaches up here on the east coast. They are much colder than florida and the jellyfish are awful here too!
Dont worry there will be many more changes to come. That always happens when you plan any trip to disney LOL
Thank you so much Susan! It will be nice for mom to come!

Thank you so much Kelly & Crissy! I hope therE won't be any more changes, however knowing my mom, she may be using her mom instinct and convincing me otherwise.
I actually will be getting on the computer either later tonight after Erick is done doing his school homework and his work homework, or some time tomorrow starting to order the pages for the Autograph Books. Actually I am a little glad I waited since I got an e-mail from Shutterfly that I had some free prints waiting(love when that happens).
Crissy- I hope you're able to take your mom to Disney. I'm so sorry to hear about her surgery, but I hope it has helped her. I hope it will help her to go to Disney with you though. The Jellyfish are bad in Florida too, but at least we will bypass sealice season, so that will be good. I have the hardest time going to a beach and not getting to enjoy going in the water.
Yesterday was such a crazy day (not to mention hair ripping since Skyler was just in meltdown mode all day), but we got some Disney Mail! We got the official mail with the little planner and maps, and suggestions of what we should plan for the trip (funny enough they mention 3 things already booked and on our list, Donald's Breakfast Safari, Play 'n Dine at Hollywood & Vine, and the Playhouse Disney live)! I'm sure they will send us soon more Disney Mail, since we had to change the date so now our dining credit allotment is incorrect. I had to hide it from Skyler before he could get his little hands on it and rip it(yep that was the kind of mood my little monster was in all day, and throwing fits left and right). I just thought I would share my excitement of what came in the mail, of course I had to wait to read it, since Erick called me from work today forgetting his phone charger, and his phone was ringing off the hook and his phone was almost dead, so the second we left the mail box, we were back in the car to drive his phone charger to his work.
Actually, a quick question, would anyone mind please letting me know how I can add a link to my PTR and how I can get a counter/ticker into my Siggie? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! I just can't seem to figure it out.
