As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

A thousand pardons for more total lack of focus and organization. Let's just blame it on the Grey Goose! I'll try not to forget the pics with the journaling.
i can't believe we only rode this once.
This may or may not have been made on day 3. It's all a blur, once again, blaming the Grey Goose. Wish I had one right about now!

Okay, by this time I am tired of the rain and I'm feeling the need to do some serious park time. We are up and gone by 8:30 or 9:00 and our destination - AK. First up, FPs for EE. They'll be good for 11:40, so let's go to Dinosaur. I'm pretty sure that we only rode this ride, max twice on this trip. Not sure why, cause I really like this one. It was a walk on so that was a bonus. We had lunch somewhere near the Dinosaur ride and it was probably just a burger.
As you can tell, I'm wearing a different shirt from the pic below. Once again, it's all a blur. Probably had this pic made later in the week.
We had the chance to see Festival of the Lion King again this year. The last time we made it to this show, we were one of the last people to enter the theater. We had to sit in the very back and it was very crowded. This time we were near the front of the line and we were able to get some good seats. I've only included one pic due to the fact that it's hard to get good pics in here.
After LK, we headed over to the Tree of Life to watch the Bug's Life Show. The girls arent' crazy about it, but I like it.
She tried to steal my thunder!
We then rode EE, not before grabbing some FPs for Kali. I didn't tell the girls, but I was tired of being wet, so I planned on skipping on this one. I used the excuse that I needed to grab a pic from the bridge.
It was after riding Kali, the younger girls went back to the room. At that point, it was time for Yak Attacks. Let me just say that I liked the Grey Goose Slush, but I LURVED THE YAK ATTACKS! I loved em so much that I made another trip back to AK just for an attack.
Celebrating the Yak!!
After refreshing ourselves with the Attack, we went over to Tusker House to watch the musicians. It was REALLY HOT by this time. I'ved noticed that when I partake of the adult beverages, it gets really warm outside!
We decided to go back to the room to take a nap and shower. We wanted to go back to MK since they were having EMH till 2:00 a.m. I love being there late at night! We watched the weather forecast when we got back to the room. It had been sunny and hot and it was really nice Florida weather. Unfortunately the forecast was calling for storms and possibly hail. Grrr....
the pool at Pop. That's alot of rain! I hope your room stayed dry. I love Pop but I wouldn't being happy there if it was a monsoon.
More please.

I was really excited about this evening. This was EMH at MK and they would be open till 2:00. I was determined to stay as late as possible. I absolutely love walking around here late at night and some of my best Disney memories are here at late night.
I brought my video camera along for this visit. One of the things I've always wanted to do is to film Wishes and Spectromagic. I did, in fact, do this on this night. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet and I'm a little worried that my camera skills are sorely lacking. I actually tried to film and take pics at the same time. There's no telling what I'll find on that video.
Anyway, we rode POC, COP, Laugh Factory, and JC. I've heard that it's a lot of fun to ride the cruise at night. Unfortunately, there were no FPs and we had to wait a long time for the ride. DD17 was tired after this ride, so she headed back to the room. Silly me, I thought teenagers could stay up all night! It didn't take very long for DD28 to call it a night. She wasn't feeling too good and she needed some rest.
That left DD21 and I to close the place down. Luckily, she's a night owl like her mom. At first the lines were ridiculously long. The line for BTRR stretched all the way back to the bridge. I was beginning to think that EMH was going to be a bust. I'd never seen the lines so long that late at night. It was about 1:00 before all the lines thinned out. DD21 and I decided to ride Mansion, which we all know, is waaaayyy spookier at night. We also decided to take a chance and ride Splash. By the time we made it back to SM, the lines for everything were all gone. I don't know how that happened, but we were definately gonna do some serious ridin'!
I thought I would be clever and wear my new poncho on the ride. This Dad and his son were sitting behind us. He kept saying, "Man, I wish I had one of those ponchos." He said it several times and of course, we were all smirkin' cuz we knew he wasn't gonna get weeetttt!
Silly me, I thought I was so smart. The ride starts, I'm all covered, and the log starts out. Unfortunately as we're easin' on down, another log above us starts down that last drop. And of course, being the lucky gal I am, we're completely soaked by that durn log!
It was at that point that I realized a pool of water had now formed in the cup that was my poncho. And guess where? Yeah, my behind! Okay, now I'm wet. I inform DD21 of what has just transpired and the Dad behind me says, "Man, I'm glad I didn't have one of those ponchos." Yeah right!
Of course we couldn't help but laugh about the whole thing, cuz it's EMH...at MK!
It didn't really bother me so much. We were having so much fun I wasn't ready to go back! We did finally make it back to the room about 2:30 though.
Great updates. I hate the rain too. Our last trip was Oct 07 and it rained EVERY day, almost all day.
I had the same thing happen on Splash too. It had been raining, so I had my poncho on and figured I'd leave it so I wouldn't get so wet. Yeah, right. Same thing as you. Came out with a wet butt!
Sounds like a lot of fun with your girls. Can't wait for more.
