VERY FIRST FAMILY VACATION-JUNE 21ST -JULY 5TH - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

oh great update, looks like fun at AK
that is hilarious what your husband said
love the photos too and your chicken meal does not look bland, in fact that is how I eat.
We woke up pretty early this day, ate a very hearty breakfast and I packed sandwiches, snacks and plenty of water. We headed out to to begin our touring at Epcot.
This is the park that I believe the Diamond Parking was the best. We walked out and as we gathered out things, my Mother realized she left the Disney tickets at home in her camera bag. I had all of our tickets except for hers and my oldest so they had to leave and go get it and we went in to begin. Our first ride at Epcot was Spaceship Earth. Now that wasn't part of the plan but my husband finally looked excited about something so I said lets just jump on there is no wait so we basically walked on it but not before a quick family shot:
This ride was really cool, I loved the interaction afterwards and so did everyone else.
I then said we should start from the back and work our way up since we're not really doing the touring plan. We began with Honey I shrunk the audience after kinda walking the really long way around by World Showcase. My daughter did not wear the glasses after the snake (won't give away more than that if you've never seen it). And this would be a pattern through every 3D after. She also wanted to sit in my lap which was fine. The boys said they didn't like it but I think that's because they were scared. When we came out of there, my Mother had returned to the park and was feeling a little guilty that my son missed out. I let her know we only got on two attractions not a big deal, he can do them later if he wants. We then got in line for Journey into the Imagination, the line was non existent but as we walked up, Jalen says I have to go to the bathroom. I'm like but I can see the ride from here, can you wait? he begins to jump around which answers my question so I told them to go ahead and begin to wind myself through people behind us which thankfully wasn't many. The other twin, Josiah runs up behind me and announces he has to go too. I then went through the talk about if they felt like they had to go even a little bit to tell me. We get to the bathroom and here comes a first, I try to get them to go into the ladies room so I can watch them and they both kinda freak out.
"There are girls in there! I don't want no girls!"
"but you have to come with me so I can watch you"
"I wanna go by myself. I can do it!" Jalen says. Josiah says he wants to go with his brother. Now, I'm not all paranoid or anything but I kinda get flashes of someone stealing my babies and I mean they are only 5. So here I go with another long talk about strangers and to wait for each other and come out and don't move, ect. ,ect. now remember this talk....so I anxiously waited for them to come out and they did, hands washed, clothes a little askew but alive and kicking. LOL. Everyone else had gone ahead on the ride so we got back in line which was barely a line and got in the little red cars. Now I must have been tired or something but I literally fell asleep on this ride. Josiah loooved it and Jalen thought is was just ok. I found them in the imagination pavilion or whatever they call where they dump you after the ride doing the interactive things there. My son was complaining that he wanted to go in the golf ball so my Mom took him back to do that and we went ahead to The Seas, before that I got everyones ticket and got a fast pass for Soarin in the Land. The return time was 6 or 7 pm!!! Huh? It was about 12pm at that time. Okey dokey though so we then went over to the seas and tried the Nemo ride. Again must have been sleepy, yawned through the whole thing but my daughter LOVED it especially the que to the ride. This was a 20 minute wait but it didn't feel like it because of theming and the way you kinda wind back and forth and back and forth forever. LOL.
Here's a couple of pics along the way
Here is my daughter very excitedly telling me to look at the ceiling. "look mommy!"

Great start at Epcot...sorry you mom had to head back for the tickets but at least she made it back quick and they did to miss to much....
And I think I must doze off on Journey as well as I hear the music faintly in my head but I do definitely drift....but as you saw the line is usually not long at all and on a hot day it is a great way to take a break and the kids enjoy it so it for me it is always a "thumbs up" ride.
We enjoyed Nemo - the queue is great....my daughter took a lot of pictures of it.
I have to say it was quite crowded waiting for Bruce. One parent goes in the front to take the picture while the other puts them in the mouth. Some people were very creative with their pics like the adults in the front trying to "save" their kids from out of Bruce's mouth. It was really cute, wish we had thought of it or we would have done something like that. Pictures of the aquarium didn't show up good so I won't post them. My Mom called to say they were finished with Spaceship Earth and everyone was ready for lunch so after I checked and a Turtle talk with Crush show just went in, we decided to come back for this and go to the car for lunch which we did. We then came back and decided to try out Mission Space or Test Track. Well Test Track's waiting time was 170 minutes and they were out of fast passes. Wow and Mission Space had a 40 minute wait for Orange and 20 minute for Green so I told my husband and son to go ahead and we'll wait for them. Can I say that when they have the CM's in the front "explaining" they only need one to explain it and the other giving out the team colors. I mean there was a line to the line because they were explaining how it all worked, answering questions, ect. ect. so when it was our turn, we got a riders pass and let them go ahead to the standby line. It was BRUTAL so time to turn to a treat favorite while we wait.
Thanks MOM! (that's not me by the way, that's what they call my Mom. I'm Mommy)
The boys came out excited! They said this is their favorite thus far. They did Orange but I wanted to try Green to see if the twins could handle it. So my Mom and I went on together while everyone else went into innovations. Oh man I LOOOVE this ride. It's a definite must do on my list everytime. So, we leave there and then it began to rain. Yes this is a pattern. Well although I wanted to press on, my husband instead of saying he was tired, he says the kids are tired and I don't want to be out here in the rain. Ok then so we decided to leave. The kids went to the pool while I made chili and rice oh yeh!
I didn't take a picture of the chili I mean chili doesn't LOOK good but it sure did taste it. LOL.
Well it stormed again and really bad so we were not able to go back out after dinner unfortunately. so, our Soarin passes still sit in my folder unused. We still had a good day and we were satisfied with it. On to the next day..
How much time could we spend at a water park anyway?

am enjoying your reports...it seems one can overplan, right? and also flexibility is definitely a key, right???? ha ha ha, had to learn that myself the hard way!
But now I'm worried...my son is your daughter's age. How many melt downs will we have in September?
OH girl you haven't seen nothing yet, one of the biggest is coming up next. I think it was just overload for her and she didn't know how to handle it. Once we took a break then came back, she was in a much better mood. I think the word is overstimulated but boy oh boy was she a little she-devil when she got in her moods. Your son may not be like that, she's a little she-devil everytime she gets sleepy so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Oh yeh. I did realize I was overplanning when I was well planning but I figured better to be prepared and we can take out what we need to along the way. I have to say, touring plans were spot on if anyone wanted to use them. It's just I didn't want to be a control freak and so when they saw something they wanted to do I was just like ok lets do it.
