Feelin’ Groovy: A Cam and Luke TR Completed 7/31 - Page 12 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That was a full day! I am very familiar with the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game. We have to plan a half day into our schedule just for it. Otherwise, Ds would have us crisscrossing the park all day. I hope Luke didn't have any repercussions from pushing through the day.

What a very full first day you had! Sorry some of the things perhaps didn't live up to expectation, like Skipper Canteen and the Dessert Party, but it seems like you guys still had a fun day with lots of good purchases made
Wow! That's a busy day! The desserts looked yummy. Loved all your purchases, especially that Vera Bradley bag. I was thinking I might get another Dooney while we are there, but I may have to check out the Vera bags instead. Looking forward to reading more!!
That was a long day indeed!! But the fireworks is always a nice day to end the day. Your desserts looked delicious. Can't wait to see what day 2 brings!
The desserts didn't actually look that appealing to me. But, now you've tried it so you don't need to wonder about it.
I'm sure you're both going to sleep well!
Luke and I both thought the desserts we remembered from earlier parties were a lot more appealing. Maybe I should look at old TR photos. We slept so well that night. We'd totally worn ourselves out.

First- I LOVE, LOVE the title and song selection of this TR. I had used this some time ago, but changed it to Feeling' Soggy after all the rain we had on that visit.
I'm loving your new Tink charm and I have to get that little Pandora gadget, I keep my nails super short and always have a hard time getting my bracelet off- so thanks for letting us know about this.
Ice Cream for lunch is always a suitable option when in Disney for sure.
I had to giggle about you being a southern girl and asking for lemonade over ice tea. I'm an ice tea girl from the NE, now living in the south and when I do ask for an ice tea, I quickly get corrected with " Oh a sweet tea"??? I'm still learning
I love that Luke was able to watch Wishes while comfortably laying down, but I do hope he is feeling better. This was a long day for you guys for sure. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of this trip.
I remember your Feelin' Soggy. . . TR now. The CM who was waiting on me had very short nails, too, and she pulled out this tool. I said I wish I had one of those, so she let me know they could be bought. A good night's sleep did wonders for Luke, but we did have to remind ourselves to rest and quit when he was tired.

It was a wonderful Wishes viewing experience, but the desserts just weren't for us.
Have to say Luke looks just absolutely thrilled on The TEACUPS and ready for some slow down your moving too fast got to make the MAGIC last
That's more of an I-don't-want-my-picture-taken look, but he was getting so worn out by this point, though he wouldn't give up. He and Stefanie used to ride without me so they could spin like crazy.

Thanks! We had assigned seating our first two dessert parties and folks stayed in their seats to view the fireworks. The third time we didn't have assigned seats and so many people from the back crowded around the rail that those of us who had gotten there earlier and selected front tables either had to stand, too, or lose any view at all. I'm pretty certain we won't be doing this one ever again. Luke has never been fond of them, but keeps doing them for me and for Stefanie.

Too packed, I now know in hindsight. SDMT is one of the few coasters I'll do, and I truly believe that it is less dizzying in the very front.
That was an incredibly busy first day but Luke really was a trooper! I loved some of the pictures that you were able to capture on the SDMT ride, especially the ones with the Contemporary shown in the background and then the beast castle as the sky was so beautiful!!! Pete and I are the same as far as cutting back on the desserts over the past few years, so I know it would not be worth it for us to do the dessert party, but I'm glad that you were at least happy with the view that you had for Wishes.
Luke was definitely a trooper. I was amazed at what exactly turned out in the SDMT photos as I really could not focus or see what I was capturing. I didn't look at the photos until I was editing at home, but I think I'm going to have a really neat layout for this.

But these days, for some unknown reason, I don't think we could manage more than a small plateful each because it would just seem like a lot of sweetness in one sitting - which would bother me a lot considering how much we would have paid for it! So that was interesting, thank you.
Your thoughts are almost identical to the conversation Luke and I had about this party the next day.

Poor Luke - I think he was being a very brave little engine, still trying to squeeze as much into your days as he could, despite everything!
And my lovely Pandora Daisy arrived, it is very cute and just seems way too nice to just keep in a drawer next to my charm bracelet! I wish they had made the leather thong a bit longer, then I could have worn it as a bracelet in it's own right!
Gosh, what a long day you guys had! I don't blame Luke (or you) for being exhausted, especially with all he's been thru! Love all the pictures! Hopefully you both slept great!
We did sleep very well that night. In fact, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't remember where I was at first. I smiled when I remembered I was at Kidani and then I was back out.

Your day sounds like it ended on an out of sight note....can't wait for more
It was great, yet tiring day for sure. Thanks on the photos, sometimes the less I stress over photography the better I do.

Luke didn't really have any repercussions, but we both wised up quickly as to what was going to be too much.

The fake grass/turf in the area was quite comfy to sit and lie on.

We don't really expect every experience to be a high point, and some things not being as great as we had hoped doesn't really bother us. Overall, the day had so much fun and we were together.
Glad you made it through the day! The viewing area for Wishes sounds just lovely!
The Wishes viewing area for this party is really excellent.

I had thought I would be coming home with the new D&B SW cross body bag, but those don't hold as much as my Vera Bradley bags.

I think it was the most relaxed and comfortable I've been in a very long time while watching Wishes.
You certainly packed in a lot of attractions in the MK! Too bad the meal at SC wasn't that great, but I love the themeing here! Love the idea of the mystery photo. Looked like a good time at the dessert party, but you can fill up rather quickly as much of it is very rich.

We pack a lot in, maybe too much, but we both made it through the day. You've made me think that the dessert parties might be better without so much sugar, but then I guess it might take away for folks who love the rich desserts.

The daisy tool is working so well that I can believe how long I went without buying it.
