So Many Celebrations! A June 2013 trip report - Updated 11/6 -MK Day 2 - Page 12 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Getting a crowd free Main Street castle picture is so worth getting up early to eat at CP. Glad you got so much done at MK this morning. Great pictures, too.

I feel the same about CP. Those early morning ADR's are so awesome! But then we find ourselves eating faster and faster, and really wasting it, because you can just FEEL the park filling up. . It is such a great restauarant, though, and some of the best CM interaction we have ever had!

We love CP also - and also LOVE to get there super early - but like you - always feel rushed to get into the park as close to opening as possible! But it's worth it!!! And that Eeyore hug is ADORABLE!!!!

I'm so glad you guys got your DS on Haunted Mansion. I bet he liked it. Personally, I love it when that ride stops for a wheelchair transfer - more time on the ride. So thank you!
Good day so far, can't wait to see what the evening holds...
There are so many attractions that DS cannot ride, so when there is one that I can get him on, I'll do what I can to make it happen. We took him on Test Track on our last trip, but he's gotten too big to easily get him in and out of the ride vehicle. That's really a shame, because he that attraction!

Glad everyone enjoyed Enchanted Tales with Belle.
I don't think I'll rush back to ETwB, but it was nice to see what all the fuss was about!

My daughter wants to eat there after we run the Princess, so she can get her photos with the characters while she is wearing her shiny new medal!

We've always been for breakfast. I'm looking forward to trying it out for lunch in February!
It always seemed like we never got as much done in the evenings as we did during the daytime, but we always enjoyed ourselves! This evening, we were on the OKW bus at 6:30 and made it to MK a little after 7 pm. Our first order of business was to take the train for the first time this trip. DH grabbed a bucket of popcorn to share before we hopped on the train. I sat in the h/c accessible car with DS while DH sat with the girls. I usually take a picture of the four of them sitting together; not sure why I didn’t this time. They must have been too far behind me.
As we were riding, we spotted a real-life doe next to her imitation counterpart. I wonder how often that happens, and if the real ones know that the fake ones aren’t real??
We got off the train in Fantasyland and found a very interesting Hidden Mickey.
We decided that we wanted to go visit with Daisy and Minnie in their fancy carnival outfits. The line was probably the longest we’ve encountered so far, and it was made worse by the fact that the girls behind us had no concept of personal space and they were right on top of us the whole time! It was also raining a bit outside, so it was warm and humid inside the tent. It made for a less than ideal experience, but we knew that this was the only chance we’d have to get Daisy to sign our autograph book, so we stuck it out. For some reason, there was no PP photographer with Daisy, so after all that waiting, we only got a few crappy pictures out of the deal. We did get some cute ones of Minnie, though, so all was not lost.
It was after 8:30, and we hadn’t eaten dinner, so we did what one can only do on vacation at WDW: we went to Big Top Treats!
DD13 and I split this beauty:
It was so good, we came back for another a couple days later!
DH had Chocolate PB fudge and the younger girls had chocolate-covered marshmallows on a stick. I must have been too busy eating my delicious treat to take pictures of anyone else's! We sat in an outdoor eating area just down from the Mad Tea Party, taking it easy and enjoying our nutritious "dinner."
I probably checked the Lines app to help us decide what our next move would be. We ended up heading towards PotC, with a stop in Fantasyland for a nighttime picture of Rapunzel's lanterns.
I'm still mad that I never went INSIDE!
What happened next will not win me Mother of the Year. It was about time for the parade to start, and we were planning on seeing it the next night, so we decided to try to outrun it. We went through Liberty Square and Frontierland, and by this point, the people were lined up and the CMs were trying to get people out of the middle of the parade route. I’m not sure how it happened, but I was pushing DS in his chair, and ended up pushing him right into the rope that was stretched across the pathway. I didn’t even see it until I heard the entire crowd gasp as I barreled headlong towards Adventureland. When I heard the crowd, I realized what I’d done, and grabbed the rope before it caught poor DS in the neck! I was completely embarrassed, but know that it could have been much worse.

Your nutritional dinner sounds perfectly ! I think it is very easy in MK after dark to run into stuff. I know my little family has done it several times.
Sounds like a relaxing MK evening. Soaking up the atmosphere - including a real deer! How cool is that?! I can just imagine how mortified you must have been regarding that rope and your DS! Total accident, but I bet you just wanted to melt into the ground at that point. Yikes!
A nice carb-loading dinner. You needed energy for the next day.
