Most Everyone's Mad Here TR COMPLETED - Page 12 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Reading today's update has me so excited for our MNSSHP in October. I can't wait to meet the princes as we've never done this. Where is the photo op with the hitchhiking ghosts? I showed your picture to Luke, so now we want to do this. Great pictures as you all were walking out of the park.
My new camera is a Sony alpha 65.
Writing about last year's MNSSHP has me excited for this year too We are debating costumes right now. It's between Snow White and gang or a Beauty and the Beast entourage. Choices, choices.
Last year we found the hitchhiking ghosts in the pathway between Tiana's M&G and the back entrance of the Christmas store but 2 years ago it was back by the Liberty Square Riverboat. Definitely will have to keep an eye on those extra magic shots again this year- they are so awesome!
Yay for your new camera!!!

The dancing pics made me literally they were great! That one where his foot/leg is all twisted looks freaky but in a cool way.
I LOVE MNSSHP and really loved following along!
I was missing from the boards for a while because life just kept me away so this TR has gone a bit neglected but I only have 1 1/2 more days left and I'm determined to get it done.
I was a little embarrassed with his dancing because he tends to carry on past the point of it being funny but the princesses and princes seemed entertained so....

The party definitely sounds like a success, great character interaction.
I totally agree Holly, this one went down as a success (even despite missing the dwarfs.... ) I think my favorite part of the parties beyond the parades and fireworks has to be the character interactions- especially the MNSSHP's when we are dressed up- they love it!

Because of our late night at MNSSHP, we weren't in an hurry to get out of the hotel room in the morning. I didn't write down what time we left, but it definitely wasn't early- maybe 9:30am. If I recall correctly, Stella woke us up about 8ish. Our plan for the day was AK and then over to Epcot for dinner at the Garden Grill (yes, again for the 2nd time this trip because we liked it so much the first time and Tyler didn't get to try it.)
After catching a bus to AK, we decided to head to Camp Minnie Mickey to do what we do best- meet characters!!!
Allen needed a bio break so we went on without him. First up was to see Donald, who as you may have noticed ranks pretty high on Stella's list:
Photopass shot:
Allen caught up with us at this point, and not only had he stopped for a bio break, he also treated himself to a very healthy breakfast- and chocolate ice cream cone:
Next we got to see Minnie, who Stella also
And she was super interested in her hat:
Photopass shots:
Then we found Baloo and King Louie on the trail so we had to see them too:
Stella was a little intimidated by them but Tyler gave them high 5's:
Photopass shot:
Last, but never least, was Mickey. This line was the longest (understandably) but it moved pretty steadily. When we got towards the front and were the 2nd family in line, there were some guests that were ushered from the exit path to meet Mickey (they appeared to have some sort of GAC.) Well the family in front of us got really irritated because they were "next" and the dad ended up leaving the line in a huff . While I try not to worry about other people, I could see that Tyler was perplexed by the whole situation so I had to give him the side eye to make sure he didn't say anything that might have further aggravated the folks in front of us (I had a flash of him blurting out something like "way to be a good sport" because that is something I would think and he hasn't quite figured out how to exercise his filter completely! ) Thankfully he caught my look to keep quiet, the disgruntled family had their time with Mickey and then it was our turn.
She's running so fast to see Mickey that she's blurry
She liked his shoes (and also showed him hers)
Tyler seems to have caught on that you're never too old:
Photopass shot:
On our way out of Camp Minnie Mickey, Tyler stopped to try out Wilderness Explorer station there. He had to put his hand into different holes to guess what was inside:
Next we headed to Africa to go on a safari expedition:
I'm not sure why, but during the course of walking through the queue for KS, Tyler has crossed over to the pre-teen attitude dark side I made sure to documented this particularly scary beast in the wild:
We were quickly settling into for our 2 week journey:
I didn't take too many photos, but got a few that are shareworthy:
Upon exiting, we found a Photopass photographer near the waterfall and stopped to a few shots:
We next decided to head to Asia so that Tyler could take a ride on EE. Along the way, we found more photo ops:
I like that Stella looks disgusted by this one:
My memory gets a little fuzzy here... I know that Stella fell asleep so I decided to head back to the resort with her while Tyler and Allen played. She pretty well slept the whole way back, barely waking when I have to get on and off the bus. Once back at the resort, she and I had a nice loooooooooooong rest.
Meanwhile back at AK, Allen and Tyler had some fun:

Stella and I got up and moving from our nice long nap about 5:30pm or so and we were out to the buses to head over to Epcot around 6pm. Stella seemed pretty well rested so I was feeling like we would have a good evening.
When we arrived at Epcot, the kids and I headed through the no-bag security line while Allen went through the bag check line. The sun was setting nicely so Tyler agreed to some photos
Tyler must have had his pressed penny money holder out because somehow Stella ended up with it. At first she was happy just shaking it so I was fine letting her do it.
When Allen joined us, I went to take a picture of Stella and noticed that she had the container in her mouth:
And then as soon I my finger hit the shutter, this happened:
And so naturally, being the mean parents we are, we had to take it away because coins and toddlers aren't a great match! And so this happened:
And so the first tantrum of the evening ensued. She settled down fairly quickly and we went through the gates. Once through, we stopped for a few more pictures:
We headed over to the land for our Garden Grill ADR. Yes, again!!! We enjoyed it so much on the first night of our trip that we were able to call a 2nd ressie, and this time so that Tyler could eat there too since he wasn't with us on the first night.
This time we requested a booth and no high chair, which meant we got to sit on the lower level and have a great view as we rotated.
The first character out was Dale, who Stella happily doled out kisses for:
And then we saw Mickey, who sat down and seemed like he was ready to have dinner with us!
And then Pluto stopped by, who also was immediately showered with kisses:
And then Chip finally made his appearance:
Our meal was equally fantastic and we all agreed (again!) that we would most definitely be eating here in the future.
After our meal, we decided to go down and ride Soarin with Tyler. The standby line wasn't terribly long so Allen and Tyler got in line (and I got a rider swap card) and Stella and I grabbed a seat on the ground in the area of the Fastpass machine area. There was another little boy running around and while Stella seemed nervous about him, she seemed to have fun running in the opposite direction of him.
As soon as Tyler and Allen came off the ride, Tyler and I took the rider swap card and headed towards the FP line. We soon were being directed to row 1
Funny story, as we were buckling in for our trip over CA, Tyler said "this ride needs a new story, I know what's going to happen next." It kind of bummed me out because I was so excited to ride with him as I hadn't rode this with him in quite a while.
Once we were soarin though, I enjoyed myself (and I think Tyler did too.)
Our next stop was Journey into Imagination with Figment. I appreciate this ride except for the smell room I have a sensitive sniffer but it seems like they've toned down the stink somewhat in that part of the ride.
