As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love the reaction....glad once she relalized she will not be living forever at Port Orleans that she is getting excited about the trip. I think she has a very good packing list there....she got all the important stuff, and I totally agree about Baby Rapunzel, can't leave "stinky" boys to take care of Baby Rapunzel...she definitely has to come along.
great reveal. Love the fart comments. Good to know baby Rapunzel will be safe from the stinky boys. I do hope you find purple tissue boxes - that is very sepefic.
Oh no I had no idea about Stefanie Bless there hearts!!
Have a great trip!

I agree with you about the loss of Princess Stefanie. She has crept her way into all of our hearts and I will never take another trip to WDW without taking her along with me in some way.
I agree, she has crept her way in, forever.

I also thought it adorable that she said she didn't want to live there. She was cracking me up.
Not sure what her deal is, but I would have no problems living there!!

So, you're all checked in already!! WOW!! From planning to almost there just flew by, really!!
Need to get an over-the-door-toiletry-thingy for the room. I tried the over-the-door-shoe-holder but the hooks didn't fit over the bathroom door and I ended up putting it on the adjoining door we had between our room and the noisy people's room. They kept knocking back at me while I was trying to put it on, I think they thought I was trying to break in.
Soo sorry you guys were sick And I can't believe Josie has NEVER thrown up before Not that it's that big of a problem for my boys, but it has happened. And yes...once in the car...that's a lot of fun, huh?
And of course you might think you have an idea of what your child is going to do, but clearly Josie had her own ideas of what that box meant. Tell her I would live in Disney with her And being surrounded by boys...like Kelly...the baby Rapunzel farting story cracked me up!! LOVE her 8 things...she is priceless!!
YES!! I want a song!! But, we're gonna have to think about that one. And "our spot" might just be changing, huh?
Yes, I made the appointment and even as we were walking across the completely empty parking lot to the completely darkened nail salon, I still didn't give up hope. But, as Linny said, no such luck. And yes, calling the second place a dump was kind. Linny went to use the bathroom and as soon as she got up, I was on my phone looking for other nail salons and we got out of there as soon as she got back. Luckily, Linny spotted a nice family with a mom with a new mani/pedi and she pointed us to a very nice salon.
I had a fabulous afternoon with Linny catching up and relaxing and I'm looking forward to the next relaxing afternoon. You are so welcome and I am glad Josie liked the gifts.
Holy hi-jack batman...(Maybe if I wrote this much on my own TR I'd finish before our next trip)
OMG........where to start!
Uhm, have no clue what you are talking about with the nosiy neighbors.........must be because you haven't gotten to that part in you TR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm, our song........what shall it be? Jersey Girl.....Bruce??? Hmmm, a thought huh?
Our new coffee spot is going to be wherever the Starbucks is in Epcot!!!!

Your plans look great (and I'm really, really bummed that I'll miss you two by mere hours ).
I don't even want to think about the mere hours. So bummed.

Well, I’m packed!! What, what WHAT???? I’m still shocked. The toiletries are still hung in the bathroom, but that’s ready to go in the suitcase Monday morning along with my flat iron and that’s about it. My new Fit Flops came in the other day and I have to say these are the perfect shoe and color. They are nude and can go with everything. I did want to bring an extra pair of flops though too, so I went into my stash of 18 pairs, yes I did say 18!!! It’s a problem, I know. I just decided to go with the plain white, since that too will go with whatever. I feel bad for Josie still with the shoe situation, her feet are really in between 2 sizes right now and some shoes are just getting to be too tight, while others are still a pinch too big. So I am bringing 3 pairs for her to switch it up on how her feet are doing. I have to sit Josie in the umbrella stroller and make sure it’s adjusted to her and not for Andre. She really is too big for it, but to push her around a bit, I think she will live. I didn’t want to bring one for her on this trip. The vision of her and I skipping down Main Street just doesn’t seem the same with now a stroller in the mix. But I do have to remember she is 4 and will get tired at some point during the day. Plus I don’t have daddy with me to throw her up on his shoulders. Poor guy.
Josie has been getting more excited each day for the trip. Last night she asked if we could bring some “ Been-yays” home. Took me a minute or so to know she meant beignets. I told her that would be a good possibility, she was happy because she said “I sure do think the boys would like them” …this coming from a girl who I’m sure won’t even eat them, she doesn’t like sweets. She would much rather down some Pringles with me!!! We are salty girls.
So really not too much to report about right now. I am going grocery shopping for the “stinky boys” and plan on making some meals for them to have while we are gone. Arnaud is more than capable of feeding himself and Andre, but it’s the least I could do for my hubs since he has been so nice about pushing me to take this trip anyway. I figured a big pot of their favorite turkey soup will last a few days for them and also his all-time fave…………….tuna casserole. ICK. His mom gave me her recipe when we got married and I thought the whole thing was vile, but through the years I myself have gotten used to it. Just add some good gruyere and anything can taste GREAT! I think those 2 dishes will last the boys just fine, but Josie and I are going to make them their fave blueberry muffins too, as a treat. I despise baking, but this recipe is mix, pour into muffin tins and voila! No real science to it. Cooking I love, baking…..eh. Forget it. If any of you love blueberry muffins, this recipe is fabulous. Go to Food Network.com and these are Ina’s recipe. I add lemon zest and some of the lemon juice though too. PERFECTION!!
Guys and tuna casserole - what's with that?! That is the standard are here if I'm out of town or having dinner with friends. Everyone loves it but me.
Will need to go check out the muffin recipe.
Congrats on getting so much packing done! Almost time!
You're such a good mommy/wife. I let the boys fend for themselves. Although I probably should make meals ahead of time since they usually eat pizza or fast food.
And about baby #3....it's not totally ruled out, but it sure isn't happening soon. Maybe my DB & SiL will have a girl.
Packed already, how great! I don't even know what "fit flops" are... gotta go look them up. Sounds like your boys will be well fed while you're gone-- and then after you return, with the beignets.

OMG, what is with the tuna casserole??? I really have to say I don't mind it now, but at first I thought it really was so gross.

Ah, thanks Kelly. Crafting is hard for me, but cooking I really do love, and have gotten really good over the years, so I kinda enjoy doing it for them.
God bless you for even thinking about a 3rd, but I hope for a girl for Becki! Well really I just hope for a healthy baby for you all.

Those boys are always fed well, that's for sure.
Fit Flops are one of those sandals that are to "shape your legs" while you walk. But really they are just comfy, not too much "shaping" going on.

I love this because me and my mom are the same way I am so excited for you to experience your first mother/daughter trip!! They are so fun, even when they're older.

Well, I was here for the very beginning of your trip report, and now I'm here in time to say "Hope you have a fabulous trip!" I'm all caught up and think your plans look great, and love your daughter's reaction to the reveal.
Great job with the packing! And yes, it's a great idea you're taking Josie's stroller. My kid was 6 last summer and after the second park he was done. I had to rent one from Disney and he hardly fit in it.
