Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I'm finished getting all caught up on your TR!

Sorry you had a rough weekend! At least you got your ADRs made and they sound fabulous!

As far as 1900 PF vs. CM, I'd say CM. They characters are a lot more gender neutral and the dinner food is good...I prefer the CM dinner over breakfast!

However if you dont end up getting CMC, definately go to 1900 PF your first night because it was one of our favorite meals on our last trip! Good food and great character interation- but more fun for girls/people who love Cinderella.

MNSSHP dates are out and found out when fantasmic is going to be while we are there so I've got some tweaking to do. Hopefully not too much. I was able to get CMC as 2 seperate ressies at the same time so I have a perty of 6 and a party of 5. I'm going to call and see if I can convert it to a party of 11.

Pre trip report Part Nine

Thanks Everyone for following along and the well wishes and congrats for my ADR's.

Today’s date: 05/05/11
Wish list for Evan and myself (MagicKingdom)

Since the park hours came out I’ve been tweaking our plans around little by little. The MNSSHP dates are now available and the dates for the Wishes Dessert Party and Fantasmic dinner packages have been released. However, you can’t book the dinner or dessert party yet. I’ve been checking online and I even called and the CM told me the dates are out but nothing available in their system to book. So I’m still checking everyday to see what I can do.

I contacted Shades of Green to confirm some things there and found they no longer have the Prime Rib Buffet so I booked 1900 Park Fare instead, since it is close and they offer prime rib. I’ll keep you all posted as to what we actually are able to book when everything does open up.

Since this is Evan’s first trip to the World, everything is new to him. Even though he has never gone, he does have a few things he wants to go on. I have a list as well – both of new stuff and must do’s. So stealing Susan’s (islandgirl) idea, I’m making a to-do list for each park/area.

Today I’ll start with my favorite place is all “the World” and all the world, the MagicKingdom. If I could live here – I would. There is just something so magical about it. I think my absolute favorite thing is seeing Main Street all light up at night. It is so beautiful. I think one of the reasons I this park so much is because it was the original. It has touches of Walt himself and it is the park I’ve spent the most time in.

Having had several trips where the only theme park was the MK and then a couple where it was just MK and Epcot. The MK just holds a special place in my heart. I can remember my brother and me when we were about 12-13 years old, we stayed at FortWilderness and we could come and go as we pleased. We would head out to MK really early in the morning while our parents were still sleeping and we would ride SpaceMountain over and over again. I think our record was 8 times with out a wait and then we would ride some more with a 15 minute wait (way back before the fast pass invention).

I can remember being so scared on the HauntedMansion and Pirates on my very first trip but now I just adore both of those rides. I thought flying over London was the coolest and can remember my Dad trying to squeeze into a Dumbo elephant with me. His knees where up into his chin. This was back in the 70’s so the ride vehicles were a little different then today’s.

So I think having so many MK memories has made this my favorite.

Epcot is my next favorite followed by Studios and AK. In all fairness the Studios is climbing my list while Epcot is lowering (and with Evan this year I think the Studios will climb more). AK is my least favorite but really because one, it is so hot and two I just haven’t been able to explore it the way I want. I think if I could really take my time and enjoy all the little details I’d like it more. But I don’t think that will happen this trip. Evan is too little to allow me that luxury.

I digress…here are our MK lists

Evan
Big ThunderMountain Railroad
Steam Train
Monorail (are you catching a theme here??)
Peter Pan
Goofy’s Barnstormer – I’m trying to steer him away from this when he looks at the guide books because I don’t think the new version will be up when we go.
Speed way - race cars (of course I STILL call it the Grand Prix)
Buzz
Meeting Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pluto Captain Hook and Peter Pan

Me
MSEP I’m SOOO excited this is back and truly love this. To me this is Disney. I don’t think Spectro can hold a candle to this one. I think the music is the absolute best thing evah! And I get goose bumps just thinking about the introduction “Ladies, and gentleman, boys and girls, Walt Disney World Proudly presents…The Main Street Electrical Parade”
Wishes
HalloWishes – new this trip
MNSSHP – new this trip
Peter Pan
Haunted Mansion (new queue this trip)
Pirates
Buzz
Carrousel of Progress
Wed way or whatever it is called now TTA- people mover – it will always be WedWay to me
The mountains Space, Splash, Big Thunder
Monorail
Hotdog from Casey’s – new for me this trip
Mickey ice cream bar
Dole whip – new to me, I need to be able to make an honest comparison
Shopping at the Emporium

for now
