left with 2 good ones came back with one-trip report-forgot something 5/8 - Page 12 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

They make a very nice couple! And yes, that is a very cool picture. The one you posted before that is IMO a bit mroe frame-worthy, though ... the overall composition (and lighting/color values) is superior.
thank you! they are a cute couple..
It's a scanned pic & I didn't tweak it before posting.. but the real photo is very nice .
Bren & Megan have been friends forever but finally decided to date..

He gets back on the bus & says to us "I guess I have to take you to FQ" then proceeds to drive like a crazy person.. he had to be exceeding the speed limit & was taking turns like crazy..
I'd've filmed it, and then marched right to the front desk at my resort. That man should not be driving ANYthing, ever, anywhere ... let alone, a bus at Disney.
Disney has had ENOUGH trouble recently with fatalities associated with their bus and monorail systems - most recently that I know of, a nine yar old boy fell under the wheels of a bus, and was killed immediately.
And the kind of driving you describe, is VERY much going to put the bus, and everyone around it, at great risk of an accident. A fatal one, possibly.
Wow, Ann! I totally agree with Sean. This type of shocking behavior needs to be reported. The man is crazy dangerous, and possibly not mentally stable!
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the tonga toast at Kona cafe. I love pressed coffee, too.
P.S. I love the Mickey shirt Jamie is wearing in your sig pic.

Did you mean the green Mickey shirt?, That's Brendan..but you can call him Jamie, just don't call him BrANDON . LOL.. that's his big pet peeve... Jamie is in the Disney performing arts one.
& you know I never noticed it before.. all 3 kids are color co-ordinated

Went to Blizzard beach & was happy to see the parking lot was virtually empty.. it was a chilly morning so it may have been keeping people away.
As we were getting off the bus Jim said to me "You're riding Summit Plummet" I said "No Way" he then linked his arm in mine & started to play run toward the entrance to the park.. Somehow, my toe got up under my sandal & I was in excruciating pain.. I yelled for him to stop but also found it comical ( you know, how you laugh when you're in pain?) so I was laughing.. he kept going all the while dragging my toe under my sandal.. I finally dug my nails in his arm & he stopped.. I was in terrific pain & knew I had done something bad to my toe..Once we got inside I told Jim to find me a lounge chair & I wanted to just sit.. We got a chair & I told him & Shelby to go off & have fun.. My chair was by the downhill double dipper & I had fun watching the people come down the slide.. it was especially funny to see the ones who skidded across the water & ended up almost at the end of the pool..
The band was also at BB today.. I texted Jamie & Brendan & told them to make sure to get me their photopass wristlets. Jamie came over several times to see me & listen to me moan about my toe & give me his wristlets .. I didn't see Brendan at all. Jim saw him at one point & told him about the photoass thing .
I layed back on my chair & fell asleep.. I 'thought' I was in a shady area but we all know Florida sun.. I woke up & knew I was pink from sunburn.. I am fortunate that I rarely burn & the most I get is pink.
Jim was hungry so we went & he got ribs , Shelby got chicken & I was in so much pain I was nauseated so I picked at their food... the ribs were outstanding..VERY good!!
Around 2pm we were ready to leave BB.. decided to go back to the resort as my legs were also hurting, I guess from my limping due to the toe.
Shelby wanted to go swimming.. (AGAIN!!) we have a 8ft deep inground pool in our backyard yet the girl wants to always swim in Disney.
I told her & Jim to go ahead, I was going to go to the hot tub.. WARNING: Vent alert!!!. Now our entire stay every time I passed the hot tub there were a ton of little children in there.. splashing & carrying on. It's not a kiddie pool & it's intention is NOT for swimming but for relaxing.. I could go past there any time, day or night& the hot tub was FULL of playing kids.. Maybe Disney needs to restrict that somehow.
Okay back to your TR. The hot tub again had a bunch of kids in there & there was no way I was going in there with my toe hurting so bad I would be so concerned over someone hitting it or stepping on it.
I went to get some ice & then went back to the room to ice my toe.. at this point it was swollen & purple.. VERY unattractive. I kept thinking I was glad this happened the next to the last day of the trip & not the first.
I snoozed while Jim & Shelby swam (& got their signature drinks from the pool bar) When they came back we got ready for our dinner at O'Hana..
Here is a link to my photopass photos.. There are a ton of the band photos to wade through, sorry but you've got to check out our Summit Plummit ones.. they are too funny...
Here's a photo of my broken toe.. When we came home I went to the ER the following day as all of my toes were black & blue & both of my legs were extremely swelled, I had to get an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in my leg ( I didn't, the swelling was probably due to flying on an airplane & overcompensating for the toe) I got to wear this lovely (NOT) ortho boot.. We're home almost a month & I'm just starting to wean myself from wearing the boot.. I HATED it, made me feel lopsided too much
I literally squirmed through this entire last post. Your poor toes! Hope things improved for your last day. Now I'm going back to look at your photo pass pics.
