As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Hoosier Girls Invade the World---Final thoughts COMPLETE 7/17
[b]Final Thoughts
I’ll give my final thoughts on the trip, and hopefully Tiff will chime in. Not like we haven’t been waiting or anything. (You know I love ya Tiff!! )
AirTran: This is the first time I have flown with AirTran. Since ATA left Indianapolis, it didn’t leave a lot of cheaper options open with flights a the times we REALLY wanted. Overall, not bad. I am not keen on the fact that they never notified me by phone nor email that my flight times changed. Thank goodness, I’m anal and kept checking to see if they lowered prices. I like the fact that you could get XM radio. Had the benefit of listening to the NASCAR station and to the Busch race on the way home. Will I use them again? I would love to use Southwest but they never have the times that I want from Indy to Orlando. I’m using them again in October.
Old Key West: Since Tiff used her DVC points for our stay here, I can’t complain too much. Our studio was really nice, and I loved our little balcony. The bathroom was huge. The location…well this is a huge resort. I understand that. I just thought there were not a lot of bus stops for the size of the resort. As far as the look and feel of the resort, it was absolutely beautiful. Another plus was the boat to and from DTD. A very relaxing ride!! I’m glad I had the opportunity to stay there ( Tiff!!).
50’s Prime Time Cafe: This was my second time at this restaurant and had such a great experience again. We got a cool table with a TV, we had a great “Mom”, We had yummy entrees and REALLY yummy desserts, and we had Dad’s Electric Lemonade with the blue light up ice cube. I really enjoy this restaurant and will return on future trips.
Donald’s Breakfastosaurus Another good experience. Despite the fact that we were 45 minutes late for our ADR, the CMS handled the situation with ease, and we had a very enjoyable experience. The character interaction was great.
Whispering Canyon Café this place!!!!This was new for both of us, and I know we both had a GREAT time. Our waitress was awesome and the antics of the other servers lived up to the reputation WCC has. The food was very good but those desserts…oh my goodness…sinful.
The Garden Grill: This was a first for me and became a quick favorite. I immediately put it on the list for the October trip. The character interaction was top notch, and I loved the catfish and potato casserole.
Crystal Palace: Tigger, Eeyore, Breakfast Buffet….Enough said!
La Nouba: I have to give Tiff another huge thanks for getting the tickets. This was my first time to this show, and it was incredible. I was speechless throughout the whole show and can’t wait to see it again in Oct for Chuck’s first time.
Adventurer’s Club: I now know why people love this place. Consider this another first for me. We spent a couple of hours here and closed the place down. I will definitely be going back on future trips. Kungaloosh!!
Overall: As I was re-reading my final thoughts I realized that I really had no big complaints. This was a great trip. This was the first time I had ever gone at this time of year and it will probably be my last. It was a little too hot and humid for my liking. I had no qualms about going on this trip with Tiff. I had a great time without the hubbies but we both realized that we missed them a lot in DTD when we had to carry our own purchases. This trip was filled with tons of firsts for me which just goes to tell you that even after many trips, you can still experience new things. As for another trip with Tiff, there have been a few hushed talks about another one in 2007, possibly for Mousefest.
So…here it is….the end of the report. My thanks go out to everyone for all of their comments. I truly enjoy writing the reports and reliving the fun we had. I’m sad to see it end but at least now I get to scrapbook the trip. Stay tuned for my next adventure. I’m finally taking Chuck back to WDW in October. We’ll be experiencing many firsts on this trip as well. The big question is…Will I get Chuck to dress up for MNSSHP? Thanks again for taking the time to read of our adventures.

Dawn - Thank YOU for taking the time to write your TR. I've enjoyed every minute of it. I hope we get a chance to meet in October. I'm going to try to make at least one of the meets (maybe more!). It would be fun to read a TR I've been a part of. I can't believe how frisky Aurora was! You're right, they're usually just vapid creatures that smile so it's nice to see one be so friendly.
GREAT report, Dawn. Thanks so much for sharing...and just think...our next ones are gonna be overlapping!!!!! Good luck getting Chuck to dress up for MNSSHP, I'm not even gonna ask mine.

Great wrap up, Dawn. Good insights into your trip! And you made me start to think.... if I get an AP in late December for my GG, then I have an excuse to go to Mousefest 2007... hmmmmm.....
