As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So sorry you all got sick - that is what is tough when you have multiple children. Same thing happens here. One goes down and eventually we all get it and that is no fun. Worst part Mommy or Grammie usually get it last & therefore the worst. Many pixies for a quick & speedy recovery for all affected.
Sending you all loads of ! I've been very thankful for my flu shot this year because this one sounds very bad. Hope everyone is well soon! I'm just a little jealous that you'll get to see Pandora, but we head home right before it opens. I'll be looking forward to your descriptions of it.
Thank you! We are all much better today. Tomorrow we finish with the treatment and hopefully it's all out of our systems. Then, when the time is right, we'll get our flu shots.
I couldn't believe when the opening dates were announced and they coincided with my trip. To say I'm excited would be an understatement.
So sorry to hear that you all got the flu with the exception of Arben. Hope you're feeling better soon! I got my flu shot in November and I'm so glad because I've heard the flu is rampant in New Jersey where we live. Hopefully it will protect me. How wonderful that you're going to get to experience Pandora on your trip!!!! We're going in the early part of May, so we'll miss it, but we're heading back with our daughters in October which means that we'll see it this year at least!
There was a time, a couple of years ago, where the flu was rampant in PR. It even caused a couple of deaths. It was no joke. Then it kind of subsided, but I guess it's back again. After this scare, I'm sure to take better precautions.
Aww, too bad you'll miss it by weeks. But at least you get to go back in October. I'm really excited for Pandora. Not really a fan of the movie but I know Disney has done an awesome job.

Yes, the last one with the symptoms was me and it really hit me hard. And at my house it was like a domino effect; one after the other, after the other. Thank goodness we're on the mend.
After reading a post here, yesterday, about the Rivers of Light dining packages, I immediately went to work. I knew I wanted to book the breakfast one at Tusker House. I already had TH on June 2 but without the package. That same day, my plans had me spending the evening at Epcot with an ADR at Via Napoli. Well the first thing I did was look for a day I could switch my Via Napoli one. I found one for June 3 so I booked it. I kept the original one, just in case.
Then I started looking for the dining package for June 2. Nothing. I looked at June 3 and there was one for 8:15. I snagged that one. Then, I had a brilliant idea. What if when I cancel my original TH ADR, the time then becomes available for the dining package. I had both the app and the desktop running at the same time. I canceled in the app and then searched on the desktop for June 2. First try had nothing. I did the search again and voilà, there it was. My original 8:35 am ADR with the dining package. I booked it before it disappeared on me. Then I went on to cancel Via Napoli (6/2) and TH dining package (6/3).
Are you still following me after this mess? I know when I explained this to my kids, they stared at me with blank expressions on their faces. Something like this...
Anyways... I had to change around a couple of things but I'm very happy with what I've got. I've forwarded my "final" itinerary to Sara so she can plan accordingly. I know we'll be spending June 1 and 2 with them at MK and AK respectively. The rest of the days, it's up to her which parks we'll meet up.
So, I'm super excited about the opening of Pandora. I'm not a huge fan of Avatar (I haven't seen the movie in full ) but from the art work I've seen, I know Disney will have done an amazing job on this.
Since I'm probably one of the first Passporters who will be there, I'll be posting some teasers on Facebook. Last time I was at Disney I made a group to which I posted updates and photos (I don't like to post these things on my personal page until after I'm back home). This group was strictly Passporter friends and a few family and friends. There are a couple of you who I have as friends on FB. If you're interested in following along my adventures on FB just shoot me a pm. I'll gladly send you a link to my profile or you send me yours and I'll friend you. It'll be fun to share some of my adventures live and you won't have to wait for the actual TR.
Too bad everyone was feeling so sick with the flu! Glad you got it taken care of and everyone feels better soon!
Nice going with the ROL dining package at TH. I'm looking forward to this and Pandora and glad I will be able to experience this in October!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Your work to get the TH ROL dining package was a perfect example of a Disney pro at work. Awesome job! We're already FB friends so I'll be watching for your updates.
Sorry to hear the flu came to visit. It is absolutely no joke.
So happy you will get to enjoy the world of Pandora. I absolutely can't wait to see what's going on with the headliners there. I'm not a fan of IP-themed lands in concept, but having experienced Treasure Cove in Shanghai, I see that they can really be done right. I love the world of Pandora (who wouldn't) and I can't wait to see what they have created for us.

Great job on getting the ADR!!! Sometimes it's a lot of work to grab the ones that you want but in the end, it will be worth the effort! I'm going to PM you with my facebook info as I'd love to follow allow live with you!
