As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

How awesome that Josie was picked to be the beast! I can't wait to see this attraction in person. Andre with Ariel? Priceless. That pic needs to be in a Disney commercial

I'm so happy that you got to experience Storytime with Belle just like we did. It really is such a sweet, intimate show, and then add in the fact that your child got to participate in such a super special way, makes the whole experience 10 times better. I can't wait to check out Rapunzel's area when we go. Hope is going to freak out!
Congrats to Josie on being chosen to play the Beast! Enchanted Tales with Belle is a wonderful addition to Fantasyland. All your pictures are great, but I especially love the one of Andre smooching with Ariel and both kids with their balloons. Can't wait to hear all the details about BOG!
Glad Josie's wonderful Beast roar won her the part! I can't wait to experience it myself.
Sounded like a nice day at MK.
The kids with the balloon pics were adorable.
How cool was that for Josie to be the beast. I'll have to work on Cameron's roar before our trip! Your family is just adorable. So much life in those kiddos!
I am loving your TR, especially the latest installment. What a thrill for Josie to be picked to be the beast! We experienced ETWB on our February trip and I agree about the mirror. So cool And the pic with Andre and Ariel needs to be in a picture frame...too adorable!
Wow, looks like Josie has some impressive star power! How exciting that she was picked for the leading role! I'm sure she made an adorable Beast. And those family pics are all beautiful!!!
I'm so glad you got into Enchanted Tales with Belle. I think we'll have to follow a game plan like that next time to ensure we get there before it has a crazy wait!
It was a great plan!!! I knew that the FP machines were by PPF so that was helpful, otherwise I would have been looking in the wrong spot

Hope you love your cruise next year. I remember Barcelona being a beautiful city although I have only been once. You should add Paris to your Itinerary there is so much more choice of flights to the USA from there and so much to do
I said to Melanie yesterday we are planning to go to VGC and either Aulani or WDW in 2015 and crusin back from Galveston seems like a much more civilised way to travel home than an overnight flight home from Las Vegas or worse LAX. Now to convince hubby....
We are soooo looking forward to the cruise, I may have mentioned this somewhere, but our honeymoon cruise started in Barcelona, now we will end their with the kiddies and I can't wait! We do love Paris too, but I don't think I can justify being away for anything more than 2 weeks.......... I think sailing home would be a fabulous idea for you guys, I'm sure he'll give in

Yeah, I am really blown away by that whole attraction! Just perfect!

I do love the tradition of buying a balloon, if the balloon holds up Josie will always pick someone and give it away on our last day in the parks. However, the balloon fight my kids got into this year kind of ruined that tradition

I bet Josie was thrilled to be picked as Beast, how fun for her!
We had a bad meal at PVH a couple of years ago and I had completely crossed it off our list. But, I've heard good things about those flatbreads so I think we need to put it back on!
Those flatbreads were one of our most favorite meals of this while trip, no joke. And that table is a perfect spot too. Ask Dawn but I think they might be the place that has the allergy free chicken nuggets??

We try for that table on every visit, and as we are getting up, people are stalking that table like mad
When we got back to the BC we quickly put on our bathing suits so we could get to the pool before it started to rain, because all day it looked on the verge of doing so.
We headed down and of course went right over to the little slide in the kiddie pool section; this was again hours of enjoyment for the kids. We swam around pretty much all the other sections this day too and after a while we headed up to shower off.
I was able to get Andre down for a little nap and Josie just had some chill time watching TV and playing on the I pad. Once I came out of the shower I took a look outside and it was coming down like crazy. I thought to myself, better now than when we are trying to get to dinner at BOG, ya know, because afternoon showers in Florida are quick…….yeah right.
As we left to go back to MK it was STILL raining, and when we got to MK we had to suit up with the ponchos and cover the kids up in the stroller. We seriously had to make a mad dash to the covered areas up MS and as we got to The Plaza, we knew we really had to make a run for it. I thought it was soooo funny that the PP people were still out and taking pics, so we stopped.
A mad dash to BOG and ponchos off we found a covered spot to park the stroller. Now in my mind…..again I was thinking this would all be cleared by the time dinner was done. Inside we checked in and when our name was called they give you these cute candelabra to carry over to your dinner table. Our table was in a crappy spot, but I would never dare complain because I know how hard it is to get an ADR anyway. We were on the side all the way in the back, well I guess front…..IDK but furthest away from the big windows in the Ballroom. I was just happy to be in that room. We started off ordering the French onion soup and mussels for appetizers.
Then I believe we split the salmon dish, and ALL of it was fantastic!! We tried to get our server to take a pic of us, but it was so extremely dark in there, not many turned out.
At the end of dinner they brought out the Grey Stuff for our anniversary and I can tell you for sure…………the “Grey Stuff” IS delicious!!!
After dinner you can go in and get a photo with Beast which I thought was just wonderful as we have never met him before.
So once outside, to my surprise it was STILL raining. Bad too. So we put on our soggy and cold ponchos and made a mad dash out of the park. When we were back at BC, we just wandered around for a bit, went to the arcade and finished up by getting some ice cream at B&C. We also stopped in the lounge for some wine for Arnaud and I. We pretty much just called it an early night, which was fine anyway since tomorrow would be AM EMH at MK. So nite nite it was!!
