Dream of Lifetime TR Sept 23-Oct 5 **COMPLETE!! 9/14** - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Day 2 Wed Sept 24 I was a bad passporter today. I only have a handful of pictures. So I will throw in a few pics that I took around the Poly throughout our trip.
This was a view of our building & walkway from a bench we sat at.
I got up earlier than everyone else so I started to get ready. Soon everyone else was up & getting ready to go. While I was waiting for them to get ready I saw the ferry boat come out from over by the Poly dock. I took some pictures.
After everyone was ready we headed over to the MK express monorail. We were going over to see the rope drop. This is our first rope drop & opening ceremony because we are not earlier risers when we are on vacation.
So we got to MK & through bag check right before it started. It brought tears to my eyes watching & my main man stitch was there. It was great & glad we finally got to see one. Well today we were going on the KTTK tour at 9:30. As soon as we got in MK Shayne & I took off for the bakery. I wanted to try the French Toast loaf I always here about on this boards. The line was huge but moved pretty fast. We had put most of our stuff in a locker including cameras since we were doing the tour. The parents went in to check us in while Shayne & I ate breakfast outside. They came over to find out what we wanted for lunch at CHH. I got a chicken salad. Shayne chose tuna salad sandwich. My mom & dad got the fish & chicken with fries. Shayne finished up my breakfast for me it was huge. We collected our earpieces & waited for the rest of the group. We learned a lot during our tour.
Some spoilers ahead
Shayne would spout out stuff that he learned the rest of our vacation. One of the things was that the garbage cans are located every 27ft apart. Walt how done a survey to see how long people patience were. It was a great time. We walked down main street & learned about all of the windows & the meaning behind some of them. We also learned about the speakers on main street. There was some disney trivia along the way. We got to ride the jungle cruise & learned about how everything was created there. After that we went to the backstage area to see about all of the floats & how they are ran through test to make sure everything is working properly. As how you become a drive like you start off with a little pod & work your way up to the big floats. We had some time to sit down & do some question and answers since we were behind the scenes. After that we headed over to CHH for lunch. This was our first time for eating there I would have to say it was pretty tasty. After lunch we headed over to the HM for a ride to find out about all the little things on the ride. Then we headed over to the backstage area behind city hall were we got to see the 9 semi trailers that had a cooler running. They had all the MNSSHP candy in them. We then continued to the utiltidors. It was very interesting but not what I was expecting. We left there & continued to the back area behind Tony’s & got to see where Tinkerbell lands in neverland. Our tour guide name was Rhea & she was great. I would recommended this to anyone. We returned to drop off our earpieces. So we were trying to decided what to do. The first thing was to do some shopping we had everything shipped back to the hotel. Since we didn’t have our bags we decided we would try to ride some rides. So off to Splash & BTR. On the way we did take a pit stop to have some Dole whips.
Everything was so slow at MK there was hardly any people there. We got to Splash Mountain & pretty much walked right on. BTM had a 30 min wait & since we knew we would be coming back for the Halloween party we decided to skip it. We walk through Liberty Square & was making our way around. I stopped & got a funnel cake which wasn’t the best I ever had. It was a little too done. We decided to head over to Tomorrowland. We rode Buzz twice in a row since it was walk right on. After Buzz we were trying to decided what to do. Shayne has been wanting to ride Space Mountain. So we walked over to see what the wait was. Guess what we saw………………………………..........5 min wait. So we jumped in line & was in there within minutes. My parents haven’t rode it since there honeymoon & Shayne had never rode it. Shayne loved it. My parents said it was OK.
After that we decided to head over to Cosmic Rays to eat & watch the fireworks while we there. We order our food & found a table outside so we could see the fireworks. Well first the table we found was by the waterfall so we couldn’t hear the music & the roof was cutting off our view. We ended up leaving so we headed over to area by Indy Speedway where we saw the last of the fireworks & could here the music. We linger around the park a bit so we didn’t have to deal with so much of the crowds. We return our locker key to get our deposit back. Shayne was trying on some light up glasses which was my end of the day pictures.
We jumped on the monorail & back to the rest for some chill out time before bed. When we arrived at our room this is what we found
