It’s Always Sunny in California!..Eh?...L’il Bit! - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I cannot wait to ride on that! It looks great! Had to laugh at the elephant feet comment. The same thing happened to my husband after riding Dumbo. He said Dumbo bit him.
The ride looks so great!! I can't wait to try it someday!!

I think they have now announced it will NOT be coming, which is a bummer...but there is still hope for Star Warsland.

It sure is! And I was happy to be that close to the front of the line....without actually killing people to get there.

We then walked over the Luigi’s flying tires. We passed this on the way….isn’t it so cute.
The queue was super cute, but we whizzed through most of it.
We only had to wait a short time so I took a few pictures of the people on it before us.
How cute are these bushes?
Once we got on we did a lot of laughing. We were not very good at controlling it and we would lean one way then the other but not always at the same time. It was a good fun ride, but not something either of us felt the need to do over and over.
We next made our way over to Radiator Springs Racers again. We decided to try the single rider line this time. I clicked this quickly as we walked by.
The single rider line was completely empty. Those in standby still had a very long wait though.
The ride was basically walk on for us. No one in front of us and we were soon called to join a car…with both of us being in the same car, Cass in the front and me in the back in the same spot I was last time.
Cass took this picture of me. It was a typical look I had….on my phone posting to facebook, texting or messaging friends, or checking emails. LOL
This time around I took pictures with my phone.
Waiting to get our seatbelts checked.
Cruising around
Back inside.
Someone has been tractor tipping again.
Hippy!
Let’s race!
Another successful ride and this time we knew where they took the picture. I kept Cass in this one but if she hates it I will go back and blur her out….but really how can you hate it…she looks so “cool” in it. I am just laughing away like a dork.
I do want to note the kid next to me HATED the ride and was not happy about how fast we were going either.

Aw, poor kid next to you. I HATE that! But you look so relaxed in the pic where you are on your phone, it is obvious you and Cass are really hitting it off and having a great time.
Singler rider line...When DS is a bit older, we are going to do DLR again and do this.
Sorry about the pushy people you have encountered. I am amazed how rude some people can be Loving the pics of carsland, they are making me really wanting to go check it out now. If only I could come up with the money lol.

That kid was not happy and yelled at his mom. LOL
I am hoping Claire will get braver and do single rider lines soon.

If I had the money I would be back already!

It was awesome to get right back on. So many people didn't even know the single rider line existed.

That would be Sarge calling Filmore a hippy. And Red is the firetruck.. This is Evan's favorite movie - I know all the charavters.
When my son was little I knew so many character names to boy themed shows. Now at 25...he just doesn't watch them anymore. LOL
After our thrilling ride we headed over towards Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree….again with me taking pictures along the way.
Again the line wasn’t too long and moved pretty fast.
Soon it was our turn and this one took us by surprise. Every time we whipped around a circle our wagon went flying to one side. We were laughing so hard. And the seats are slippery so my rear was sliding back and forth and I am sure I was smashing poor Cass. It was great fun, but I don’t think it would be on I would go on over and over either. I am sure Claire would love it though.
After that, we had finished with Carsland and I was getting hungry. We decided we should head over to Paradise Pier and ride California Screamin before we ate for obvious reasons. Also, Toy Story Mania is over there and we wanted to get to that before the crowds came in.
Look who we ran into as we made our way over.
I am going to warn you now….You will see many pictures of the Ferris Wheel. I just love taking them…now would I ride it?????? Never in a million years. That is a death trap! Cass mentioned she would like to and I told her she could but I will sit it out. There is no way I am going to get in a swinging car and sit up high like that. You will fall to your death surely!!!!
We were walking fairly fast, but I was still able to keep shooting.
This spot made me long for a Disney cruise.
We made a quick potty stop before riding as well…for obvious reason!
And we got in line and again it wasn’t too long of a wait.
I’ll admit I was nervous about this ride. I knew it had a takeoff like Rocking Roller Coaster and that tickles me so much and I just hold my breath. It wasn’t too bad and I was squealing along the way.
It was a fun ride and I am so glad I rode it.
Again Cass has the cool pose while I am trying to smile, but just look plain dorky.
