Is That a Raincloud Over My Head? EMTPEJ's Land & Sea Adventure **Updated 10/28** - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sorry to hear about the Luau. It hasn't been on our list of must see's because we went to one in Maui and I would be afraid I would be disappointed. I am glad you still had fun. Can't wait to hear more.
I may not ever get to Maui, so I this may be the only one I get to see. I really have nothing to compare it to.

I love the shirts. Where did you get them again and how big did they go?
We got them right there at the Polynesian, in the Bou-tiki shop on the ground floor. They go up to XXXL. I think that pattern at the time was the only design that they had enough of and would fit all of us, too. They cost a couple of $$, too!
GOOD!! Because DH Jeff didn't get around to getting his stuff ready for me to pack today. He will do it when he gets home from work. So NOW I am trying to FILL MY DAY!!! I am already TWITCHING! I have to go to the bank and exchange my last bit of rolled coins, but DH did get cash out for our trip already. My laundry is folded and the last bit is in the washer. Can't finish packing until later this afternoon when DH gets home. SO I NEED TRs to READ!!! THANKS!!!
Episode 7: 07/15/08 Part C: an Illuminations Cruise with a princess (or three).
We decided to change into dry clothes for our Epcot evening and Illuminations cruise. As it was getting late, I took the opportunity to call ahead for cab for 5 to the Yacht Club, since it was about a 10 minute drive and we would be cutting it pretty close as we were supposed to be there at 8:00 for cast-off by 8:30.
We hopped into the yellow cab that was waiting for us and were capably driven to the Yacht Club by Jean who was originally from Haiti. When we arrived at the Yacht Club, we were greeted by – no one? Don’t they have a doorman there, anymore? Oh, well, another day perhaps!
I led the pack out into the twilight at the marina, and who did I happen to meet but ---
Princess Danielle Harmon and her family! Her personal charisma and magic must have won out over mine because it was finally not raining! Yaaay!
One of the things we talked about (if not constantly) was how great Passporter is and King Scott and Queen Janice. I presented them with FBI special agent t-shirts and they presented us with Beatles t-shirts for the boys! I know they must have been tired because they had been at Epcot all day. Their kids Tommy and Autumn were just adorable and Tommy and Tim and David all hit it off and were pals in no time! They talked about video games and pokemon the whole time. I think Tommy wants to come to our place and stay sometime and he (and the family) is welcome anytime! Tom was a little quiet (as was Kendra) , but you know how hard it is to get a word in edgewise when passporters start talking while in the happy place! It was just so neat to finally meet them after all of the planning. I am sorry that I do not have a lot of photos, but I was talking with Danielle the whole time!
Our captain for our cruise was Captain Erin from Casper, Wyoming.
Here are a photo of Erin and Breathless, whose berth is right next to the marina office.
I don’t recall the name of our vessel. We did have to pitch in and mop up the rain that was pooled on everything on the boat. I wasn’t really sure if Capt. Erin was amazed or amused to find that we had never met! I hope that she wasn’t put off any by our talking up a storm while she piloted us around the lakes of the Epcot resorts so we could see the Boardwalk and the lights of DHS. It was fun, but none of my photos of all that came out very well! It was so nice, and also convenient to Epcot and DHS, we will probably stay in that area the next time we visit.
I was able to present Princess Danielle and Autumn and Kendra with the tiaras that I got at Bou-tiki at the Poly. I think this was when Kendra really caught the magic and Tom probably decided we (passporters) are all totally insane . Danielle was so excited, she put hers on upside down!
The boat was one of the pontoon boats and the kids and Kenny sat in the stern and Kendra and I sat on the port side loveseat and Danielle and Tom sat on the starboard side loveseat. All the kids had to wear their lifejackets the whole time, but as the weather was somewhat cooler and the drinks were included, there were no complaints!
Capt. Erin deftly piloted us to International Gateway bridge and made fast to the pier and the other boats and we did not have long to wait for the show. It is a great show and makes me cry to see it, but the smoke blocked the view a little, but it was great fun! If it were not for the magic of Passporter and Disney as well as the incredible invention of the internet, we would have not been able to afford the luxury of this cruise and pleasure of this great family ! It was an once-in-a-lifetime treat!
All too soon we had to bid farewell to Capt. Erin and from there we proceeded through the turnstiles at the WS entrance. As my group was pretty tuckered out, we regretfully decided to say ‘See ya real soon’ to the Harmons and head back to the Poly via the monorail. I sure hope they had a great time and I am waiting to read her TR! They were headed to World Showcase and the EMH attractions that Epcot had to offer. We planned to return to Epcot on the following day. So, we trekked past the UK and Canada and through Future World to the monorail and beyond!
Again, after much laughing , we finally got to bed that night !
Today the weather was: Cloudy & humid several long rainstorms. The best thing about today was: Meeting Danielle and watching Illuminations with her and her family. The worst thing about today was: All the rain. The funniest thing about today was: Messing with Wes Palm, the talking tree. Today we tried: A Passporter meet / Illuminations Cruise. And the result was: Wonderfully heartwarming! The most magical moment today was: Meeting a princess!
Next up: Episode 8: A breakfast with 'Best Friends'

So glad that the rain took a breather for your Illuminations cruise. Sounds like it was a great time.
I met a fellow Passporter by chance the other day at the mall and my daughters just stood there rolling their eyes as she and I went on and on about our happy place. I just love how they just don't get it.
I'll have to keep the Illuminations Cruise on my list of To-Do things for one of my upcoming trips... Maybe birthday trip in Feb (Nah too cold!) Perhaps Mother-Daughter trip in May.
I'll have to put a shout out I guess! It sounds like SO MUCH FUN!
