As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well we had to set our clocks forward an hour today. Unfortunately, I woke up at my usual 5:30 AM only to find that it was actually 4:30 AM! Muffin was, of course, still snoring his head off!! I am so jealous of him sometimes as he sure is able to enjoy his sleep!! No restlessness, no hot flashes and plenty of snoring!! ANYWAY!
I forced myself to stay in bed for a half an hour and then got up and put some laundry on and got coffee. I checked my e-mail, caught up on some TR's and posted my daily poetry. .
I really wish that Beauty and the Beast was out this weekend as today would be prefect to see it!! I cannot wait to see this movie!! Muffin even bought me a beautiful book about the making of it and the scenes and costumes alone look gorgeous!! I think it will clean up at the box office. I also love Emma Watson and Dan Stevens!!
But back to reality, we will have to wait until we get home to see it!! The Philadelphia Flower Show is also here this week so I thought about doing that today.
There is also a Boat Show going on at the Expo Center with a waterskiing squirrel as an attraction!! I would love to go just to see that but we are not in the market for a boat and Muffin may have me committed for suggesting this venue!
Well, I ran the Flower Show by Muffin and I could tell he didn't really want to venture far today, so we decided to just hang out again and make our own fun!. I was not remotely disappointed as I worked on my scrapbooking and we had delicious leftovers from yesterday for lunch.
We wound up watching a couple more episodes of Foyle's War, which was very good. We did some laundry and finished packing some last minute items.
We took Lilly for another long walk. It is so cold here that she did not even enjoy it!! I can't wait for Spring to really come!!
We are having chicken and parsnips for dinner and we plan to watch a little TV this evening and then turn in early. I just double checked the weather for Las Vegas and it looks wonderful!! We really couldn't have picked a better week to go!!
Looks like it's all under control and glad you'll be on your way before the Nor'easter gets here! We're under a blizzard watch here in SW CT and expecting 12-18 inches of snow. Just the way I want daylight savings time to begin!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
You are definitely an early riser. I can't wait for the Beauty and Beast movie, too. We're pretty picky about what we'll spend the money on at the movie theater, but this one is a definite yes. Sorry you have to wait! I think a lot of us are anxiously awaiting the true arrival of spring.
Have you listened to the soundtrack for the B&tB movie ?! I am in with it: If you have Spotify, it's on there, and you could download it to listen to on the flight.
We have our tickets for the 4:15 show Friday. Tried for 7 pm, but waited too long as there were no seats 8 days out! So, I'll just HAVE to leave work early for the movie!
Hope you can get a little sleep tonight!!

No Spring yet over the next several days in CT. Even, after the Nor'easter passes over the next few days.....the daytime high isn't more than 40 degrees through the 19th! I just hate the cold weather and look forward to real Spring temps!

I wish Beauty and the Beast was out earlier too - I was hoping it would be out a couple of weeks ago, then we could've seen it while we were on the Wonder last week, but sadly that wasn't to be.

Philly is expecting the same, Dave! Luckily, my neighbor has agreed to plow our driveways for us while we are gone!!

I get up with the chickens!!. Hopefully, when we get back the weather will be nicer. We have tickets to see Beauty and the Beast on Sunday!

That would have been neat!! I remember seeing Tangled on the Dream when it first came out!!
I'm a little late to the party, but wanted to say....
What would a wedding be without a little drama? I had a sympathy-bridesmaid in my wedding. The wife of a friend who inexplicably thought it was appropriate to tell me "I really really want to be in your wedding". Um, ok. She then asked me multiple times through the planning if I "really wanted her, or if it was just because she asked." ! The reality is, weddings are so busy and so awesome, I'm sure your daughter won't even notice if there are some jerks mooching off the meal and open bar.
And if she doesn't really love this "friend", perhaps she won't miss her at the shower, huh?
Hey, you are probably in the air right now. Looking forward to your room review!
