As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wow - that was a massive pizza! I have to say it's fascinating to see your photos from Italy, having just been to the real Venice - and the Epcot version of St. Mark's Square is definitely looking better than the real one...
A little late but I've just found this TR and loving it so far! You guys definitely had some hiccups getting to the World but seems like once you were there it's been pretty much smooth sailing so far. We LOVE Via Napoli... to the point we went TWICE on our 5 day trip We do have pizza like that here, but theirs is better.

DH and I will be eating at Via Napoli on Sunday night on our short 4-day trip to the World. What size pizza did you order? That looks huge! We don't want to eat too much because we like to eat around World Showcase, too.
Yum, Via Napoli's pizza is so good!! We haven't been there since 2010 when they opened, but your pictures are making me think I'm definitely going to book an ADR there for our next trip! What a jerk that guy was to make you go outside and then have the gall to not apologize when you came back inside!
Playing catch up here on the boards and finally caught up on yours!!! Other than the heat and rental car mishap, sounds like you are having a great time so far! Interesting that Tiana and Naveen were in Epcot! Never seen them there!
We did have fun. We are usually pretty good at trying to make the best of things and just being there is fun compared to being at home.

What a jerk! I can't believe even after you told him you had a reservation, he still told you to go back outside! These non-Disney owned restaurants don't always get the Disney magic!!! I hope everything after that was ok?!
Great pics of the show in America.
You are getting me so excited for our trip! 79 days, 80 to Epcot!
it was huge...and soo good.
It was a large. I think online it says it feeds 2-3 people, but we were perfectly fine with that size. I supposed it depends on how much one normally eats too, but it is filling.

It was so good.
The CM was a jerk!

it sure was. And we enjoyed it so much. We don't have many good pizza places around here.
I was thinking the same things when I was looking at your Venice pictures and then I went back to compare to Epcot.

I can totally understand going twice. I really do like the food there!

Oh yay! Send me a piece! We ordered a large. A personal one is still really big and if you don't want to eat too much it would be perfect for 2.

I thought it was pretty funny the way she looked.

It was a big one and we did a good job at polishing it off...though we were stuffed after.
As you can tell I really liked taking pictures of this.
And then they marched away as they finished up.
We then were all invited to go inside as the American Adventure would be starting shortly and the Voices of Liberty were going to sing as well.
We have never seen either of those either.
In fact, I pretty sure this is the first time I have really stopped in America other than to use the bathrooms or look at topiaries…though I think a few years back we did stop to watch part of a show out in the ampatheatre.
We walked around inside a bit taking in the cool air, but Claire complained that it was boring. But honestly it was so packed at the park, that it was the perfect time to try new things
Soon the Voices of Liberty started to sing and they invited everyone to scooch in closer so we could all hear better.
They were very good, but not something we would make time for every trip…but I am glad I finally got to see and hear them.
We lined up to be let into the American Adventure next.
We have never seen this show, but I thought it might be something Claire might like with the animatronics.
It wasn’t long and I was fighting sleep. The day before was catching up to me as was the heat…and this just didn’t have any action to keep me awake. My only saving grace was trying to get pictures.
Of course this part is pretty cool.
It was over. I was glad to finally have seen it, but I have no need to go back again…unless I need to cool off and have a nap. Claire thought parts were neat, but overall not impressed.
Of course, I had promised Claire she could do something she wanted to do after we had our education…and she was more than ready to get started.
We had to wait our turn…and I think we also had to wait for phones to be brought in.
When it was our turn the girl asked for our ticket and I gave my wrist….after all, isn’t that what Magic Bands is all about? I mean they want EVERYTHING attached to it…..but not here…..you HAD to have an actual ticket to get a communicator. Luckily Claire had one…as I did not. I thought that was so odd as the majority of onsite guest would not have a ticket. I have heard now this is somehow going to be something that will pull up on your smart phone. I am not sure if that has started yet or not. We were able to select a country and we chose Japan. I didn’t want to do ones we had done a few years ago for sure and I had heard Japan was one of the better ones to do. Claire…or as we now call her…Agent C….got her instructions and off we went.

I can't believe in all your trips you've never seen the American Adventure! It's not something I need to do every trip either, but it's okay. I really like the song at the end of it. How stupid that you can't use a magic band to get an Agent P communicator! That makes no sense.
Nice pictures! I usually fight sleep in the American Adventure show but I do love it. It's a cool dark spot and when you've been out in the heat all day it's easy to get drowsy. I love listening to the Voices of Liberty. I try to see them each trip.
