Lisa X 3 Taking Over the World PTR!! - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ok, really - we just can't even make this stuff up!!!! My week DID get more INSANE!!!!!!!!!
Friday night........came home - DH was finally home from a long 3 shifts in a row of work (So much for him taking it slow !!) and we got all comfy, getting ready to watch a movie, drink some Skinny Girl, etc. He sits in his chair with this look on his face - and proceeds to tell me that he has been having chest pains for the last 20 minutes.............let him give it a few more minute...............5 minutes later he tells me he thinks I should bring him to the ER !!!! (The day before he also told me that he just wasn't feeling up to par, but believes it just simply because it's still only 6 weeks post-op, etc ~ oh yeah & DH is a firefighter/EMT so when he suggests that he needs to be seen.......I have to go with it!!!) - So off to the ER we go....................
So after checking in there - they run all kinds of blood work - they think it could be a blood clot!!!!!! Are you FREAKIN' kidding me ?????? And of course, by now, he is feeling a bit better, no more pain..........so they run the blood work for blood clot, TSH levels etc. - doctor comes back in room (and keep in mind - it's Friday the 13th in the ER!!!! Can you say CRAZY !!!!) and says the blood clot test is positive - need to do a CT Scan............of course I am completely FREAKING out inside!!! But staying very cool, calm, collected on the outside! They take him away - do the CT Scan - and then tell us they have wait for results.........might be a while...........an hour or so later they come in to inform us that there is NO blood clot - THANK YOU GOD!!!! But that his espohagus (sp?) is inflamed and they believe that he has severe acid reflux - very common after surgery - especially 2 surgeries in a row! Okay - I can breathe now ...............then doctor informs us that his T4 levels are perfect - BUT his TSH level is EXTREMELY low.......okay -what do we do now? Of course ER doctor doesn't want to tell him how to adjust meds, so we have to wait to speak with Thyroid doctor ................OMG!!!!!!!! We have so much to learn about this!!!!! And in the mean time - he is complaining that he has gained 10lbs in 2 weeks!!! I knew that could happen - but he won't listen to me !!!
So finally after several hours in the ER, heart racing, foot throbbing, we came home at 3 am, with not a sip of Skinny Girl to be had!!!! I crawled into bed to only have to get up a few hours later to do that MAD dash last minute trip shopping, hair cuts, grocery shopping (advised DH that I BEST NOT find out that he & DD ate out every night while I was gone!!)..........and of course a quick stop at the packy - to grab yet another bottle of 100 cal Margarita - this time the Jose one (recommended by hair dresser!).................in my hand by 5pm !!!!
I really got to enjoy my lovely 100 cal margaritas (uh huh, plural!!!) while Lisa # 3 visited with her DD, while I also had Lisa # 1's DD for an overnight while Lisa # 1 enjoyed a weekend away with her DH (good thing DH was NOT enjoying adult beverages!) -
So did I pack yet???? hmmmmmmmmm............no!!!!!!!!!!! And of course - today is a busy day with Lisa # 3's DS First Communion.............so tonight I HAVE to pack most of my stuff!!!! wish me luck!!!!
Come hell or high water, I am getting on that plane Weds am at 6:45 and putting these feet (with or without a darn boot!!) on FL grounds by 9:35!!!!!

I do hope things stabilize a bit in the next few days. No packing of any significance has been done here either and zero hour fast approaches. Hang in there and hope it goes well!
Oh for the love of Peter Pan!! You really have had a bumpy ride lately, you deserve several Margaritas!!!
Acid Reflux!! Whew! FYI, regulating thyroid meds is an ongoing process. I am the first in 5 generations that does NOT need meds. Even the GD cat needed them. Weight gain, weight loss. Up the meds, lower the meds. Never ends but whatever keeps your hubby healthy.
BTW, Pudgy Sloppy Drunk Margaritas is just Jennie speak for the super strong adult beverages I make. I prefer an Amaretto floater in my 'rita along with Cuervo, Grand Mariner or Cointreau and sweet & sour mix. No salt or fruit needed. I also had (yeah, i killed it last summer) an awesome blender that had a pour spout on it. I just made a huge batch of rita mix and poured it in the blender - no ice, I prefer my drinks on the rocks. When a refill was needed, I just reloaded my glass with ice and poured the rita out the spout. For the last vakay, I just packed a gallon plastic pitcher. We killed that the first nite!
Hope your week gets better - oh yeah, it will. YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a stressful night you had, Lisa! Glad it wasn't a blood clot!
I did just pick up a bottle of Skinny Girl - had never tried it. Not lime-y enough for my taste, so I may squeeze some fresh lime juice in to the glass next time. Haven't seen the Jose 100 cal, though....I'm trying to find the perfect beverage (pre-mixed) to bring on our cruise in August. I am bringing wine, but would like something more fun to drink poolside!
Hoping your next 48 hours (less actually) are smooth and you get everything packed and hit the road as planned!!
Hi Lisa, I'm just finding your TR and sound like you can really use a vacay. I hope everything goes well at the doctor's office and you don't need a boot. And I hope hubby is doing better.
Can't wait to read all about the trip. Safe Travels.
No stress fracture!!!! But severe tendanitis in my foot with signs of osteoporosis starting! Uuuggghhh!!!! But on the bright side - no boot in Disney!!! Although he wants me wearing good shoes with inserts . I asked about my teas and berks - can do in increments as long as I switch out with sneaks too. Yuck!!!! I am thinking the antiinflamtory with some Jose on the side might do just fine??!?!
DH is doing better today - spoke with doctor - adjusting Meds - got Meds for acid reflux - so hopefully he will be doing much better in a few days!!!
Thanks for being so supportive and letting me vent here!!
Now off to finish up last minute packing ~ and trying to squeeze it all in Mickey suitcase!!!
