3 Amigas? Not So Scary! We're back! TR - updated 12/10 - Complete with Collectibles! - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great updates and awesome pictures, Cindy and Terri! So much fun! I love the Boo to You parade and felt I was back there as you described the night. And reading about all the F&W F goodies makes me want to get back for that some time, too.

I hope Terri will post some of her HalloWishes fireworks shots. (Hint, hint )
That's all I've got for MNSSHP -- with promises of PhotoPass pics to come.
Now, poor Sheri had arrived late, and now she was going to have to leave early. The hospital had called her while we were getting ready to go to the MK, so she asked for a wake-up call at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. She probably didn't sleep very well, worrying about bothering us -- she was up to cancel the wakeup call, and I think she left around 8:00.
Terri and I took our time getting active -- boy, were we tired after that full day and night! I checked out of the Poly and took my luggage to the nice people outside the Poly, and then Terri drove me to Epcot. (Well, we parked at the Yacht Club so we could easily get to World Showcase, but I'm sure you understand. )
Got
which would have to be the very last thing we rode -- I had to be back at the Poly by 2:00 to catch the DME for my 5:00 p.m. flight to St. Louis.
It was another beautiful day, and the morning was nice and cool.
Did I mention how tired we were? We needed a whole lot more and really felt for Sheri who had to go to work that morning.
We power-walked our way back to the YC and then Terri us out using many interesting maneuvers (and mostly one-handed, to boot). We pulled into the Poly's entrance drive around 1:30 p.m. and said our
As I told Terri, "I would hug you, but I'm a sweaty mess!" She did such a great job getting me back -- and I forgot to mention that apparently I had dropped my boarding pass etc. somewhere in Epcot that morning, so I needed time to beg Bell Services to give me my carry-on etc. They were great about it and had me put back together in no time.
Then I actually had time to go into Captain Cook's for the Dole Whip that had eluded me thus far on this trip.
I never did get my Lapu Lapu but as all us Disney nuts know, there's always next time!
When I walked back to the entry drive, the DME was waiting for me. The driver was very nice about the Dole Whip -- he didn't say a word. So I kept myself awake on the drive to the airport by enjoying every spoonful.
My eyes were definitely getting by the time we reached the airport, but the l-o-n-g security line kept me on my feet and awake. Finally got through that, and then found Nirvana, which I had noticed back on Wednesday when I'd arrived. But it wasn't called Nirvana -- it was:
which is right next to gate 123 (and I would be leaving via gate 125 -- very handy).
I wanted to ensure that I would sleep at least a bit on the plane, so I ordered a big burger, fries, and then I saw this:
and the second spigot from the left was calling my name. "Oohh, you have Amberbock!" I exclaimed, and the nice server brought me this:
It was icy cold and went perfectly with the hot, juicy burger and the big, fat fries. (I love big, fat fries. You can keep your skinny, crunchy ones. )
There were families queuing up at Gate 123, so I chatted with kids as they waited to board their flight to Phoenix.
After that delightful, nourishing lunch/dinner, I walked around and had to at this fellow:
Of course, I was jealous that he was clearly comfortable enough to like that -- but I really love his pillow, don't you?

I checked my messages and both Sheri and Terri had left me good wishes. I tried Terri back, and then she tried me back, and we went back and forth but never did manage to speak to each other that afternoon. But THANKS TERRI -- I had a blast!
I thought Sheri was just going to do some work in the morning, so I hoped she'd be at home. So I her house and David answered. He said Sheri was home but was which I was very to hear.
I thanked David for having Sheri deliver this to me:
A girl can always use another Goofy keepsake, right?
So David asked when I'd be coming back, and we talked a bit and then Sheri got on the line because she'd been unable to sleep after all. THANK YOU, SHERI, for coming out to play!
The SW flight was uneventful, I managed to a little bit, and then had an enjoyable conversation with a fellow who'd be staying until the final stop in Kansas City. Then Rick picked me up at the airport in St. Louis, and soon I was
Wait a minute -- hadn't I just left? Yeah, that was a whole two days ago!
My butt was dragging all weekend -- I don't know how Sheri managed to work, but God bless her!
OK, here are a couple more pics I want to share. I always leave a nice tip for Mousekeeping, and Thursday night when we got back to the room after MNSSHP, this note had been left for me:
Now, how did Mousekeeping know that Beauty & the Beast is my very favorite Disney movie of all time ??? That was
And I was so pleased that my DME materials had come in this envelope, with Goofy and Belle -- I was bound to have a great trip with a sendoff like that!
Ta ta for now! I'll take photos of my purchases when they arrive. (Nothing horribly expensive this trip -- just a few mementos.) And Photo Pass to come! And I'm sure Terri will post a few more pics from MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
Great pictures from everyone! Cindy you saw my favorite parade in WDW!
and I've never heard of anyone getting a thank you from housekeeping - how cool!
