My Birthday Dream Come True!!! **Updated 10/9** COMPLETE - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great start, Mary! I love the view you had from your room! How !
I also really enjoyed your pictures. It was kind of cool, because I'm listening to Mouse House right now, and I was looking at your Spectro pictures when the Specto music was playing! It just made me even more excited for my trip in 11 days!
Ok well we didn't get out to the park as early as we would have liked to but we did spend the day until dinner at the MK. We started the morning with a huge triumph. What you may ask? Well last year I started to take my daughter on Haunted Mansion and she panicked so I had to take her out the chicken door. Well this year she rode the ENTIRE ride and liked it. We then proceeded over to Frontierland where the guys rode BTMRR. Then we also had FP's for BTMRR for all 4 of us but since I dont ride roller coasters, I let the 3 of them go on it without me. This way I have an FP for a souvenir of the ride. We then decided to go over to Tom Sawyer's Island. We weren't so lucky to find a paint brush but maybe next time. When we finally had enough of the island we started to get hungry so...
We then headed over to Columbia Harbour House for lunch. DH, DD, & I had the chicken and fish platter for lunch while DS just had the fish platter. We all enjoyed our food.
After lunch I had decided to head back the hotel while DH had an appt to see what the DVC was about. However, on our way out we got chosen to be in the Family Fun Day parade. So we did our duty in the tambourine section. Then after the parade DD and I headed back to the resort while DH and DS stayed at the MK.
We met up at the GF for our ADR's for 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella. We were greeted and sat. We had Pattie as our waitress and she was just marvelous. We enjoyed our interactions with the characters. We only needed 3 autographs this time as we ate here last year. So when a certain step-mother came to the table she was somehow taken back that I knew her as Lady Tremaine and not the Wicked Step-mother instead. We got her autograph and pictures of course. Then along came Drizella and then Anastasia. They were great and portrayed the characters beautifully. I highly recommend this meal again just for the interaction. Our server Pattie even got into the action when Prince Charming started to dance with Cinderella, Pattie started to dance with one of the waiters. It was so darling and sweet. Well after dinner the children wanted to swim. So we took the monorail back to MK to hit the busses home, until....
DH offered to take them back by himself and let me have time alone in my precious MK. It was the most wonderful night of my life. I got to ride a few rides by myself without people trying to say NO or have attitudes.
I did ride POTC and the ride got stuck for over 20 minutes. But I got stuck right where the guy is sitting on the bridge with his foot hanging down. The part where it plays Yo, Ho, Yo, Ho A pirate's life for me over and over and over again.
Well by the time we got done on that ride me and the other people i was sitting with had the entire group singing and shouting and applauding . I then went and headed to the Jungle Cruise for a nice treat as I have never ridden this before. After that I headed over to Fantasy land where I got to ride Peter Pan's flight & IASW, then decided to watch Philharmagic. The night was so wonderful. Before I headed out of the MK, I decided I wanted a pair of ears so I headed over to the hat store and made my ears then headed home around 11pm. It was a great night and one that I will remember for years to come. UP next day 3....

Great update! Sounds like you had a fabulous time in the MK and at 1900PF! How nice of DH to take the kids back to the resort, so you could enjoy some alone time experiencing some of your favorite attractions! Can't wait to hear more

I will get more out soon. I am still dealing with unpacking and cleaning house because I have very important visitors coming on Tuesday and have to have the house neat and presentable. But I will try to get more out soon. I hope this is living up to Beth's and Jill's TRs if that is at all possible lmao... I just adore their TR's...

You're such a sweetheart! Your tr is fantastic and I'm loving every minute of it. You have the best sense of humor and I find myself giggling constantly! The little guy on the plane with his "We're going down." would have really unnerved me. You did well not to have his little self relocated to the bathroom.
And the view from your room is so beautiful - - they apparently knew it was your birthday trip and wanted to impress! I love the fact that your DH gave you some time alone in MK - - how incredible to be able to do what you want when you want!
We got stock on POTC for about 20 min too, but we were right in front of the jail & with the dog-
I love that ride, but the whisting and doggie whimpering...ughhhh!
I can't tell you all how much your words mean to me. I am so grateful for this chance to express myself better through these reports and actually have you all get to know me a bit better since I am usually the "Wallflower" of the group. Thank you all again so much. Day 3 still to come...
Great update! I'm glad you had such a good time at Park Fare, and you had the opportunity to tour a little on your own schedule! That must have been really fun!
