As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Sounds like you had a fun time with low crowds (despite the heat). Can't wait to hear more!

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - Travel Day Updated 8/31
<font color="blue"> Day 2 Part 2 - It's HOT and I'm sick
The pool wasn’t crowded again, and we spent about an hour if not more going back and forth to the slide, and just horsing around in the pool. Then it was naptime. For everyone (including me and Alexa). The heat had just drained us today. Lucky for us, they set a record high. 96 degrees, and again no rain. Ugh! The nap was well needed and deserved
After the naps and a quick snack of Zebra Domes, we took the bus to MK. By now I think it must have been at least 7:00 if not later. No decision was made on dinner. We’d just play it by ear once we got there. That would come back to haunt us (or at least me).
First up after our walk thru the pearly gates and our sashay up Main Street was to get Fastpasses for Buzz. Those in hand, we headed to Goofy’s Barnstormer so Colin could have his chance at a roller coaster. We did manage to get a frozen lemonade or two in Toon Town. I guess that’s dinner for now. We were rushing a bit, as we had gotten there so late, we were trying to get in what we wanted to do (or rather what the kids wanted to do). And it was still HOT! We were sweating, at 8:30 at night (and that was an understatement)!
Our window for BL opened up, so it was back over there to save the Universe! I think I scored the high of the group, at 55,500. Not to bad for me, as I usually score much less! Alexa was clamoring for the race cars, so that was next. For some reason, Colin didn’t want to ride, so Alexa nominated me to go with her. It was the typical 20 minute wait, but as we were waiting under the covered awning, I just started to feel bad. Really bad. Like I was going to pass out. I tried to leave the line, but Alexa would have none of it Once I got out into the open area again, I felt better. I think I just needed some air flow. The heat was really getting to me, and not eating anything for dinner was taking its affect as well. Oh, and throw in the exhaust from the cars as well. Such a lovely mixture I made it around the racetrack, and thankfully out of the car!
We met back up with Matt and Colin, and decided what to do next. Dinner was the choice, but where? By now, it was 9, and Spectro was starting. We headed into Fantasyland, thinking that maybe Pinocchio’s was open (completing forgetting about Cosmic Rays). Alexa wanted to ride Pooh. Now this was a change. She hasn’t wanted to ride this in quite some time, and it has always been us dragging her on the ride. Then, we waited for Dumbo. It was probably a 20 minute wait, if not longer. That done, we headed into IASW, and shut it down for the night.
According to Matt, this is the Fillipino girl, so we always have to get a pic
By the time we walked out, Wishes was starting, and we were stuck in Fantasyland. Which really stinks to watch the fireworks.
The fireworks were getting to Colin again, so we headed out. By the time we got to Main Street, they were done, and the crowds were leaving. We pulled up some cement on the walkway between Main Street and Adventureland, and Matt went into Casey’s to finally get dinner. Heck, it was only 10:30. Isn’t that went everyone else eats dinner I started to feel somewhat better after eating, and shoveling fries down my throat! Alexa was still up, but Colin was long gone. We headed to the bus stop about 11, and thankfully a bus was there already (and was pretty empty). Once back, it was time for bed as it was another long day.
Memories of our Second Day
The weather today was ……..HOT, a record high of 96 degrees, and no rain.
The best thing today was …….seeing the Power Rangers, Kim Possible, and Mulch, Sweat, and Shears.
The worst thing today was………feeling sick from the heat and not eating.
The funniest thing today was……being picked on by Maurice from MSaS.
Today we tried…….Voyage of the Little Mermaid
And the result was………not as bad as Alexa remembered.
The most magical moment today was ………..Meeting all the characters in MGM.
Coming Up Next: Let the Rain Fall Down, and some unexpected magic at BBB

The heat, humidity and car fumes don't sound like a great combination! Glad the sickness passed quickly. Caseys is my husband's favorite place to eat in Magic Kingdom. He loves hotdogs!

Wow, you and Alexa got to meet a lot of characters while the boys were at the stunt show. Count me in with the group who didn't have a clue who June was. Thanks for filling us in. I'm glad you got to feeling better, I've had that same feeling in hot crowded areas and it is definitely not fun! Can't wait for day 3!

Looking forward to the next installment!!

Glad to hear the fresh air and food helped you feel better. Hopefully, there will be no reoccurrences of sickness the rest of your trip.

Another great update. I had been wondering if it was the heat that was getting to you -- and the general butt-kicker of traveling and all that.
Hope this is the last of it for you and the weather turns in your favor. Anxiously awaiting more!

Note to self: DO have photo taken with Kim Possible. Sometimes I'm so shallow. I can put it next to my pictures of me with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty! (Never thought I'd see a Disney Character in a belly shirt. )
Great update Marnie! I'm not quite sure, but I'm getting the impression that it was a little on the warm side for you today. I know exactly how you felt waitng for the Indy cars. Ugh! It's amazing what a lack of a breeze or fresh air can do to someone in the heat.
As for June and her pals on Little Einstein's - just come over and take the girls for a week - you'll know them for sure. "3 - 2 - 1 Blast off!"
Glad to hear that Casey's saved the day..err..night!

Marnie - Thanks for the update. I'm glad you didn't feel sick for too long. I've learned that I have to make time to eat or else I can ruin my day. It's hard for me, because I get so excited and want to go from one thing to another, so I really make an effort to fit it in the plan.
Can't wait for more....

Whew! No wonder you were sick - - heat, hunger and exhaust fumes just don't mix. Glad that you managed to recoup, eat and still have fun!
