As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Thank you for all of the well wishes for Mikaela She did get a burn on her ear...but felt better after a few days. I think she was getting tired towards the end of the trip because she got a little accident prone.

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Next up...fountain fun
We stopped at Club Cool for our pop lovers Kory and Mariah. They tried a few and I told them about how everyone always talks about the “Beverly” and they should try that (haha) I wish I had the camera ready because they made the funniest faces. Sorry guys.
Next up was Journey into Imagination, I really liked this when we came 10 years ago and when Kory was little he loved Figment. The ride was ok, but I like the old one better.
The wait was short at Honey I Shrunk the Audience, so we went over to see it. This was our first time doing this, and there were plenty of surprises. I was surprised when the theater started to move up and down like a trampoline, that was pretty crazy!!
The kids discovered the fountains that jump from one to another and had the greatest time playing and getting soaked there. We got some fun pictures of them playing in the water.
It was starting to get late and we decided to head over to get places to see Illuminations. On the way over we saw Tinker Bell’s Fairy Garden. It is really cute in there, I love all the little touches like the fairy houses made out of tree logs, you have to really slow down to notice it all.
We went over to the World Showcase and got places in Norway to see Illuminations. We were all hungry for snacks so Dakota and I ran over to Germany and got Mariah and Mikaela a pretzel and I got another Mickey Brownie from the bakery there.
Mariah and Mikaela made some friends who were from England, two sisters who were the same age as my girls. The littlest one’s birthday was a couple of days after Mikaela’s birthday. They had a great time getting to know them before the show.
We all really enjoyed Illuminations it was a fantastic show, I wish we would have watched it more than just the one time on this trip.
After the show was over we were walking out very slowly. It was sad knowing that we would be leaving the next day. I really wanted to find the spot where they have the fiber-optic lights in the sidewalk. When we finally found them we sat down and watched them for a little while. We just didn’t want to leave. We took some pictures of the topiaries, and Spaceship Earth and it was time to leave.
Instead of going back to Fort Wilderness we decided to go to Downtown Disney one last time. We went straight over to World of Disney. The kids had some birthday money that they had saved, and tonight was the night to spend it!! Mariah ended up buying Cinderella’s play castle and princess Aurora doll, Mikaela bought an Ariel and Cinderella doll, and Dakota bought a few more special pins to add to his new collection. I bought a ring…the gold Mickey band to wear for my wedding ring * I love it!!* It has little Mickey icons all around it.
We were exhausted so we took a bus back to Fort Wilderness and went straight to sleep.
Ummm...what in the world is my princess doing
Next up…time to pack and head home

Glad to see pictures of Tink's garden! We ran out of time for it! Also, thank you, thank you, thank you for the picture of Donald and Daisy in the heart tunnel! We walked right by it and never saw it again.
The pictures of your sweeties at the end are precious!

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Trip Report 16~ Time to pack up and head home
Today we woke up with heavy hearts, it was time to pack up and head home. We all got along so well on this trip, the kids didn’t fight and it was wonderful to have a break from all of our dreaded homework fights!! Needless to say, I was not looking forward to coming home.
We were out so late the night before that I didn’t start packing until this morning. I don’t know what I was thinking…it took me two days to get packed up, but I think I can pack to go home in a couple of hours. We let the kids run around a little right in front of the cabin while I packed things up. Mariah made friends with a family that was staying across from us.
After what felt like a long time, I finally got things all packed up and started checking all of the nooks and crannies of our cabin for anything that we may have missed. I remembered that I hadn’t got any pictures of the inside of our cabin, so I went around and got pictures of everything. It was getting close to check out time and the “mousekeepers” were starting to come around, so we packed up our little golf cart and Kory and Dakota drove our luggage over to the “check in/out office” and dropped it off there.
Kory and Dakota came back to pick us up, and it was time to turn in our beloved little golf cart. We drove it over and turned it in. We had a couple hours left so we spent our time checking out Fort Wilderness Resort. We found the area where they have all of the barnyard animals and looked around there for a little while. The only thing that we missed doing at Fort Wilderness is the trail, we will have to check that out sometime!!
It was lunchtime and we had “rumblies in our tumblies” so we decided to try Trails End Restaurant. It is a buffet style restaurant and it had plenty of food that we all enjoyed. We had a very good and friendly waitress who brought out pictures for the girls to color. She told them that after they colored them she would bring tape out and they could hang them where ever they would like. We all filled our bellies and the girls hung up there pictures.
We found a pressed penny machine and got one for each of the kids *and me too*, they were Fort Wilderness style ones and really cute. We walked over and got on our bus to take us to the “check out” office and picked up our luggage. There was a Disney Magical Express already there and waiting so we got on and started our ride back to the airport. We had quite a few resorts to stop at, but I was happy to be able to see them all.
I remember reading in some of your reports about how much it stinks to see all of the people who are still enjoying there vacation while you are leaving, and I totally get it now. I was so jealous of all of those lucky people who still had vacation left!!
We made it to the airport with a few hours till our flight, our plane leaves at 4:55. The kids decided that they were hungry…What, how can you be hungry again, little stinkers!! We found a Burger King and got them some more food and went over to where our gate was and found some seats.
The rest of the story is pretty uneventful, our flight was fine and we made it back to Colorado in one piece *yea* We were surprised to see how green everything had become while we were gone.
I did have one strange side effect from our trip though, I couldn’t focus on anything for a few days, the tv. or computer it was weird…I don’t know, luckily I felt better after a couple of days.
This was an amazing vacation, I have so many wonderful memories with my family that I will never forget. Awhile back I saw a quote from Walt Disney, it was “We believed in our idea, a family park where parents and children could have fun together”… Well Mr. Disney, you certainly did just that, and I thank you so much.
Thank you Passporters, it was awesome to relive my vacation here!! Thanks for all of your wonderful comments, it was so much fun to see what you all would say. It’s very cool that we have given you ideas too (hard to believe that here though) I hope that all of your vacations to Disney are filled with magic too and I’m looking forward to reading all about them!!
Lastly…my kidos would each like to add something

I am speechless. I didn't even go on this trip and yet somehow I feel like I just packed up my things and left my favorite magical place right along with you!
You really did an amazing job on your trip report. I am so sad to see it end.

Re: The ~See What A Little Wishin Can Do~ trip report
Reading about someone's last day makes me so sad . Your trip report was excellent -- you took us right along with you and your beautiful family.
I can't wait to hear what your children have to say.
