Castaway Cay Sandwich - 13 Glorious Days of Disney! - COMPLETED!! - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love your report. It is making me anticipate our 2016 Dream cruise even more! Our boys will be traveling with us this time. Did your boys enjoy the Edge? Our boys are the same age as yours, and I want them to have a great time at the Edge.
We slept in this am... and by slept in, I mean this photo was taken at 8am.
As you can see, it was quite cloudy this morning and it even rained.
The weather did nothing to dampen our spirits though, because we had a big day planned. Mostly it consisted of chilling out. My only "reservation" was a fast pass of sorts to meet the princesses in the atrium. If you read my last TR, you'll see how crazy nervous I was to meet a face character. After all was said and done, I was hooked, and now I wanted to meet some other Disney celebs. The boys were still trying to open their eyes, but I wasn't rushing them to do anything and they certainly didn't want to meet any princesses, lol. I dragged Dh with me to the Princess Gathering and we'd meet the boys at Cabanas for breakfast later. My scheduled time was for 9:30, so when it was time, I got in line. I'm so glad I brought my own personal photographer with me (thanks honey!) because the photos that were taken by the professionals weren't very good. These aren't the greatest either, but he wasn't used to using my phone.
I remembered to bring my autograph book and a nice Sharpie. I'm glad I took a shot of my ticket, because they took it when it was my turn. I remembered to curtsy before each royal and they all seemed both surprised and pleased
It was so surreal talking to Tiana about my mother living in New Orleans. I mean when you really think about it... But I didn't because it was magic. She finally asked what my favorite food was and I actually drew a blank! She asked me about beignets and of course I love them. She said for me to come on down to her place and try some of hers the next time we're in NOLA.
Belle and I chatting about her humongous library
I showed Ariel my nails which matched my blouse. She loved the color of course, and then asked, "What is nail polish?" She listened attentively while I explained putting colored paint onto fingernails.
Rapunzel is now my favorite princess after meeting her in the Magic Kingdom. She talked a mile a minute, but I was able to tell her that I had fun at our last meet up
Cindy! Very classy. I told her I loved meeting her back on land and that I was surprising my boys with a trip to Disney World when we got back on land. She was very impressed.
I was very happy to meet Snow White, I had never even seen her before!
The Princess Gathering was a lot of fun, and my loving, patient husband only rolled his eyes just a little, lol. We were hungry and went up to Cabanas for breakfast. Titus had the Wave phone so we called him to meet us. Max was going to come up too.
Another delicious breakfast
I love this stuff! (Is muesli really a proper European breakfast? )
Another one of Titus' breakfasts
I love my baby!
The sun shining now. I was so content. It was warm, my tummy was happy, I had just had some good Disney fun and reggae music was playing. Just one of those days you put in your back pocket to savor later... We found out later that Max had come up, but couldn't find us, so had a big breakfast and went back to the stateroom to veg out. Titus went off to do some activity and Dh and I took a nice stroll.
The Diaper Dash - so cute! There were several babies, but only two really wanted to compete.
Dh went back to the room and I went on with my tour.
I think these two rooms changed their look a few times
Dh loves this room. This is the second time we've stayed in it. I don't think we'll ever get to stay in any other on the Dream!
This was our door. We didn't participate in a fish extender exchange, but I spent so much time making the extender hanger thingy last year, I decided to use it again just as decoration. Oh! On the door is my drawing of Goofy. I forgot I went to one of the classes. Speaking of classes, I went back to the room to see if Dh wanted to come to the "Anyone Can Cook" demo, but he was about to take a nap. (All of the magnets on the door are gifts from last year's exchange! )
I wish I could remember the chef's name, but I really enjoyed the demo. He showed us how to make Apple Strudel.
A sample - yes please!
I really enjoyed doing that. The chef was very knowledgeable and gave us a little bit of an idea of what goes on behind the scenes. I would love to take a tour of the kitchens!
I decided to try the movie trivia game in the 687 Lounge. I consider myself to be a movie queen of sorts so with the confidence of a know-it-all, I went in to grab a (very comfy) seat. The game was really fun but I got totally left in the dust by like half the room! (There were a lot of us in there.) I thought I knew a lot about movies, but I guess not! I took pic of my scorecard, but I'm too embarrassed to post it! (55/100. That's bad. ) Anyway, I had a nice drink to soften the pain
When I got back to the room, Dh was still in downtime mode but he said the kids were in Edge or the pool or the Aquaduck or something :smirk). I started to pack, as we had to have our luggage outside the door by 10:30pm I think. I was so relaxed that I wasn't even sad this time.
We could see West Palm Beach
Dinner was at our favorite Dream restaurant, Animator's Palate. We had a great table, right at a large screen, so it was like our own private show.
Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes, yummy.
"Ginger-Teriyaki dusted Angus Beef Tenderloin with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and Bok Choy." This was ok, the flavors were good, but the beef wasa bit on the dry side.
Trying to figure out a puzzle from Anthony
My dessert and my birthday dessert They came out and sang a birthday song to me.
Anthony singing and dancing along with the show.
We were blown away by a magic trick from Anthony. We're still shaking our heads in amazement! It was more than just sleight of hand - he had some serious illusion stuff going on. Awesome!
Here are some screen shots from earlier in the day of the DCL onboard Navigator app...
After dinner, we finished packing up and went to see Guardian of the Galaxy in 3D. We hardly ever spend the extra money for 3D, so this was a treat. We had already seen it once, but it was just "ok". This time in 3D it was really good, I understood all the hype! We went to bed very happy cruisers, not really sad about debarking in the morning. Well at least we weren't - the kids thought they were going to the airport, hee hee!
What a lovely relaxing day! I don't think I've ever seen shots from the lookout tower before, so thanks for sharing those.
It's a great view from there!

I sound like an echo here-- what a perfect sea day! I love the shots of you with the princesses and the smiling dinner shots, too. Sounds like Anthony helped to make your cruise extra special. I agree with you about the muesli. The best I've ever had anywhere!
