As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The water at the Mug Wash Station at ASSp never got very warm. I think the kettle idea sounds goods. One suggestion I have (as an OB nurse and mom who did this with an 8 month old and 4 week old) is to boil and bottle your water. Take powder formula with you and mix it as needed. Saves having to worry about ice and keeping bottle cold during the day. The baby care centers also sell individual ready to feed portions (but they were expensive).
If you are needing formula most companies have single serve size bottles and will ship them for free. When we went last year we had a two month old and I went on Enfamils website ordered two cases of formula and shipped it. It was perfect no mixing no warming. Just open the bottle then pure it in a regular bottle and you are ready to fed. They also have nipples you can buy that attach right to the ready to fed can but most babies like a certain nipple and that is it.

I just used the hotel bathroom soap and a wash cloth. But I've never sterilized a bottle in my life. I used the 'drop ins' system also, and I'd just switch out the liner once or twice a day (I know they say not to re-use them but I figure that's just a way for them to make more money, and I've never had a problem with using one a day) and in the parks I would just rinse them out in a bathroom if there was anything but water in there. I also never boiled water - just used tap water.
But if you feel the need to sterilize the bottles, etc... there are some great suggestions in here, and I think you'll be fine with whatever option you choose!
Good luck and have a wonderful time! I wish I had a trip planned!!!!
I never steralized bottles either. I never traveled w/ an infant, but I did do a lot of one day trips. I used both traditional bottles and drop ins. I found bottled water is easiest and pre steralized. Not to mention it was not loaded with a bunch of local minerals. (I used powder) My niece took a two year old last year and for her bed time bottle (I know, a shame a two year old would still need a bottle at bed) she switched her over to milk. She just washed her bottle out in the bathroom in a plastic shoe box she had brought full of meds and other things. Good luck!

If there are microwaves in the food court, we had these Medela sterilization microwave bags we used when driving cross country to visit family for Christmas. Our little one was 6 months and I had to sterilize pump pieces as well as bottles. You just threw in things you wanted sterilized(bottles, nipples, pacifiers, pump pieces etc) put so much water in and microwaved it the specified time. They worked like a charm. Medela also had these cleaning wipes, sort of like wet wipes but for cleaning pump pieces, we used them for bottles and pacifiers as well. So basically I wiped them rinsed them under the faucet and then bagged them and then zapped them all at the end of the day in the microwave. Of course, I had enough supplies for a day so I would only need to sanitize once at the end of the day. I believe you can find them in the pump area of Babies R Us.

You beat me to it!
Yes, there are microwaves at the food courts, so for true sterilization, this is the way to go. We got a lot of use out of those Medela bags.
The rinse water in the food court mug rinsing sink doesn't get particularly hot, plus there are always people waiting behind you for the sink - not a good environment for doing a thorough wash-up.
If/when you don't sterilize, I recommend you wash in your hotel room sink instead of using the mug sink. For washing the insides of the bottle/nipple under those conditions, I'd fill the bottle about half-full of hot water, add a few drops of dish soap, screw on the nipple, and shake vigorously.
We traveled extensively with Alexander when he was small, so bottle washing on the road (France, England, Canada, cruise ships...) was a constant activity.

I used lysol and clorox wipes to clean our resort sink, daily. The water at our resort got nice and hot so I felt comfortable using the sink for washing our bottles. I would also suggest the hot water that is in the food court by the coffee, like you use to make hot tea. It is great, you can fill your mug and take it back and "wash" your bottles that way. Good luck.
Microwaving any thing for a baby is really bad for them. I can not belive that anyone would offer that advice. Scary!
The Medela steralization bags were suggested to us by the NICU nurses at the University of Tennessee. You put water in the bag with the bottle pieces and microwave to steralize them. You don't microwave the liquid that's in the bottle. I loved them and will use them again if I ever have another child.

Good afternoon! Now I have a standard mop with the same rag :-) And there is a grandmother of 90 years, polluting the floor in the kitchen, as well as in the toilet, and this is especially sad. Types of pollution are very diverse. Which of the modern arsenal of cleaning tools would you recommend? I like https://cleanhomeguide.com/best-mop-...minate-floors/, what can you say about it?
