Me, Muffin, Katie, Megan, the Adlers and Various Resorts!, - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Me, Muffin, Katie, Megan, the Adlers and Various Resorts!,
Me, Muffin, Katie, Megan, the Adlers and Various Resorts!!
Let me just say that this was our best trip ever to WDW! We did some amazing things, we couldn’t have ordered better weather and everyone had a phenomenal time!
This is the first time that Muffin and I split our stay and we would do it again in a heartbeat! It was a breeze and we thoroughly enjoyed each resort that we stayed at!!
All of the tours that we booked were outstanding except for Dining with an Imagineer and even that was okay, just not great. Pandora was incredible! MVMCP was even better than last year!!
Getting to hang with Megan, Katie and the Adlers was such a treat and everyone was in perfect vacation mode!! We got to meet Colleen, Mike and Kelsey and also Cam and Luke!!
The Party for the Senses was the most incredible experience we have ever had at WDW and I hope we get to do it again!
So, without further ado, Here! We! Go!
Okay, just kidding because Photobucket is giving me a lot of grief today!! It is incredibly windy here and the internet is up and down. Photobucket just does not seem to want to cooperate!! So!

Looking forward to the TR and glad you had such a great trip!
Have you considered using Flikr instead of PB with the fees they are charging on the subscriptions for 3rd party hosting? Flikr takes a little more work, but I'm getting used to it. Better yet it's free and you get 1TB of storage and that would take quite a while to fill.

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
I'd also consider moving away from Photobucket, unless you're happy to be paying $400 a year in the future for hosting photos? My Photobucket photos will still show up until June 2018, as that's when my subscription expires, but there's no way I'm paying that much and I've moved to Flickr.

Thanks, Dave! I will look into Flickr but like Cheryl, my Photobucket subscription doesn’t expire until next year.

Try Flickr - I like it so much more than Photobucket. It’s much easier, imho.
I will as soon as my Photobucket subscription is up.

Me either, Cheryl and thank you!

Day 0. November 2nd- the girls arrive and we order some grub!
Megan and Katie arrived right around 5 PM. We were all starved, so they put their luggage upstairs and we ordered some delicious hoagies from Primo Hoagies. Katie and I both got Mozzarella and Prosciutto hoagies, Megan got a Veggie hoagie, Andy got a Godfather hoagie and Muffin did not eat. He never does before flying.
After finishing our delicious grub, we all sat around and chatted excitedly about our trip!! The girls were especially pumped up and we hung out for a few hours before heading to bed at around 10 PM.
Everyone actually slept great!!
Day 1. November 3rd- And we’re off!
6:00 AM
I got ready and then woke up Kate and Meg. When I was sure they were up, I ran up to Wawa to get everyone coffee and donuts. Normally, Muffin and I stop at Starbucks on the way to the airport but we just wanted to keep it simple today and have everyone ready and fed when it was time to go!!
We were on two separate flights, but they were only 15 minutes apart, which worked out great! Katie and Megan were flying American and their flight left at 10:35 AM. Muffin and I were on Southwest and our flight left at 10:50 AM. The plan was to meet back up in the middle of MCO after we got our luggage as we are, of course, on two different sides of the terminal!
8:00 AM
Lilly with her sad face
Katie’s dog, Maddie, who will be keeping Lilly and Andy company
Megan, double checking her stuff
Breakfast of champions!
My girls
My girls getting annoyed with the paparazzi
Muffin loading up
Everyone was up, dressed, fed and ready to go!! Bobby was kind enough to take us to the airport this morning and arrived right on time. Before getting in the car, we double checked that everyone had their ID and boarding information. Everything was a go so our journey was ready to start!!
8:30 AM
We arrived at PHL without a glitch and sent the girls off to check in at American and then got dropped off at Southwest. We thanked Bobby profusely for the ride and checked our bags outside.
Our bag check guy who was so nice!
Our flight is on time!
Then we headed into the terminal and both had TSA pre check which turned out to be unnecessary this morning. In any case, we were able to keep all of our stuff intact.
Our flight took off right on time without a hitch and was an excellent one!! I loved these Southwest napkins!
We arrived at MCO at 12:30 PM and found Kate and Meg. They already had their luggage, so the four of us went to collect ours and then ordered a Lyft to the Springhill Suites.
These two walked right past us twice! We think they were hunting butterflies! We just stood in the middle of the terminal and eventually they saw us.
I have to say here, I was not expecting much with this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised!!. International Drive sure has changed a lot since we have been here last- in a very good way!! Although, this hotel was no AKL, it was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was very convenient to everything that we wanted to do.
After unpacking, we all went to TGIFridays for a snack because everyone was starving.
Fried green beans, coconut shrimp and fries. We all split the his and it was perfect to hold us over until dinner. Kate, Meg and I also got some nice drinks. Katie and I had peach sangrias and Meg and Muffin had a glass of wine.
Our awesome server, Lloyd
We then paid up and went down to the pool. It was 85 beautiful degrees and the water was wonderful! We all stayed at the pool for about an hour and then everyone went back to get showered and dressed for dinner.
Dinner was at Moonfish and was unbelievable!! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is incredible and the service was outstanding!!
Muffin the doorman
The beautiful inside:
The open kitchen:
Even the bathrooms were gorgeous and I so want these faucets!!
Some pics of our merry band:
Ross is the other guy in this picture. He works for Muffin.
Now for the best part- the Food!!!
Our appetizers were humongous, sweet and delicious crab claws:
Also, a delicious antipasti salad and fresh garlic bread:
For our main courses:
Surf and turf which consisted of filet and a jumbo prawn
Salmon
Lobster tail
Bamboo steamer
Blackened Pacific Swordfish
I honestly don’t remember who got what but everyone cleaned their plates and we all tried bites of each other’s meals.
We were stuffed but our amazing waiter, Angel, talked us into sharing this incredible, melt in your mouth chocolate dessert:
This was truly one of the best meals I have ever eaten! It was a fabulous way to start our trip!
After dinner, everyone was pleasantly full and exhausted. We got back to the Springhill Suites and promptly crashed.
Great start to your trip and glad all went well with the two flights! It's funny that Muffin doesn't eat before flying, even the night before. I couldn't do that. Moonfish looks great with so many great offerings you had. May have to try it one day! How far is it from WDW?
