As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). We did the bounce back getting the free dining by doing so but we opted not to upgrade and stayed with the quick dining. My DH doesn't want to spend as much time running to ADR and the time it takes away from our park time. With saying that, can you please give me your choices for quick service? We aren't chicken nugget people. We typically go to yak&yeti,sunshine seasons , Columbia harbor house , cosmic rays and flame tree. Is there another option I'm maybe missing.
I want to start checking menus and,sorting out our lunch and dinner choices .
We still we do a character meal just pay out of pocket.
Yes, a lot of QS options have the chicken nuggets because let's face it, that's all a lot of kids eat, but that's not all they offer. At BoG we get the turkey and roast beef sandwiches. We've gotten steaks from ABC Commissary and the Liberty Inn. Also at ABC Commissary, Lenny got some sort of Asian Salad and either it came with chicken or you could add it on. We don't really care for Mexican like food but that's what they have at Pecos Bills now. Pinocchio Village Haus offers pastas and flatbreads. Lenny loves his pasta so he was happy when we ate there. In Epcot, every country has some sort of QS option. I can't recommend any of them though as we've only eaten at Electric Umbrella or Liberty Inn (we need to go where they have the chicken nuggets or cheeseburgers).

One thing to consider is that the resorts each have QS options and some are very good and diverse. For example there is Gasparilla Grill at the GF or the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary. Another great choice is Riverside Mill which has several build your own options including a pasta bar. Exchanging a meal for 3 snacks might work as well if you can find 3 items at one booth/station.
Congrats on the bounce back! You have some solid ideas, and there have already been some great additions. I'll say don't forget Disney Springs, there are lots of options to be had there as well. Cookes of Dublin is one of my favorite CS meals.
We have tried the CS in Pandora at AK and the food was quite good. Also the CS at Japan in EP is really nice too. As many others have said Allears.net is the place to go for menu.
We don't like being tied to certain times to eat so we always do the QSDP and pay out of pocket for the one or two table service meals we eat per trip (none last trip - all QS and snacks). The World Showcase countries in Epcot are excellent for non-burger meals. My son must have orange chicken at Lotus Blossom in China, although the veggie curry with chicken is also good and huge. Tangierine Cafe in Morocco is one of our favorites, with interesting platters and a bakery counter in the back for pastries like baklava and coffee drinks. Katsura in Japan has a modest menu but a wonderful setting, with a lovely outdoor koi pond for a respite from all the hustle and bustle. Their iced green tea is my favorite WS beverage.
As Darlene said, in the Studios there are meal salads at ABC, which you can top with chicken or salmon. And speaking of salmon, the resort food courts at the All Stars have a great salmon dinner nightly, with two veggies and a roll. The roasted turkey dinners are great too, and my family likes to get them at least twice per trip. Art of Animation has a food court called Landscape of Flavors, which seems to have more interesting choices than most, including a big bakery case that has GF selections. The deluxe resorts also have some interesting options for QS, like Captain Cook's in the Poly, the Mara in Animal Kingdom Lodge or the two at Wilderness Lodge, Roaring Forks and the new Geyser Point outdoor bar and grill.
Don't forget that there are new dining options at Disney Springs, including Blaze Pizza, food trucks, and Wolfgang Puck Express. For menus, All Ears is great and you can get reviews and pictures on The Disney Food Blog (which links to All Ears for menu listings).
I think Disney has really stepped up their counter service options over the last few years. And some of the best are at the resorts. We love Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge and Captain Cook's at Poly. Ive heard wonderful things about Gasparilla Grill at GF, but I haven't tried it. I think the moderate and value resorts all have interesting choices. As for the parks most of my favorites have been mentioned. I think you will have no problems finding good food on the QS plan.
