As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). How much do think we should expect to spend per person?
We don't do breakfast. A big lunch and a light dinner.

Impossible to say as we don't know what sorts of restaurants you prefer, how many in your family, their ages, etc.
I suggest having a "where shall we eat and what would you each order there" party using the All Ears menus as a basis. That should give you an estimate from which to budget.

My DD and I go together and tend to be light eaters. I don't budget money for food. I am on vacation and I wouldn't be taking it if I didn't have enough money in my checking account to pay for whatever we wanted to eat. I know we have easily spent less than $100./day for the two of us on a short trip. ON short trips we tend to eat primarily counter serve as table service takes to be a chunk out of park time when you only have one day in each park.
This link is a great resource for budgeting meals. If you eat no breakfast, and your lunch and dinner are both quick service meals you would probably spend around $30 per person per day ($15 per meal pp).
One thing to consider is that you can often find more variety and get bigger meals at resort QS than at the QS in the parks. For one thing, resort QS may offer full-meal platters rather than the sandwich or burger and fries you'll typically find at the park QS. That's not to say that this is always so, but resort QS offer things like a create your own pasta dish which gives you more choices.
Resort QS also offers you a break from the excitement of the park atmosphere. We often find ourselves getting tired of how intense the parks can be with so much going on. It can be really nice to leave for a meal at a resort and then return to the park.
Another reason to look at the Quick Service menus at the resorts as well as those in the parks.

At counter service you can easily split a meal as the servings are huge. That way there is more budget and calories available for the amazing snacks Disney has.
I agree with the others that have directed you to www.allears.net/dining. I also agree that QS portions are large and very sharable. that being said plan on about $15/qs/person and $50/TS/Person. So if you truly only each eat two full meals a day then I would budget not less than $65/day/person. And this doesn't includes snacks or drinks outside of meals.
I guess when I said budget I wasn't clear. We will spend what ever we want say we are on vacation and eating is our fun. Lol. We don't drink!
So I was just thinking of how much we would spend not how to keep the cost down.
I did go to allears and add up what I think we would order. Most days came to $125 for the two of us. Doing a big lunch and a lighter dinner.m
It was fun to do it!
I budget $60 pp per day for meals and snacks. Some days we spend more some days we spend less, so it balances out.
We buy baked goods, fruit and milk/juice/water for a light breakfast in the room. We eat QS at least 1 meal a day (sometimes 2 meal) and get a few character dining experiences in as well...we LOVE to snack!
I'll share what I budget. I travel solo so it's just me, don't eat dessert with meals, don't eat breakfast, have one or two snacks per day, and usually drink water with meals. I budget $50 per day for days I know that will be all counter service and $75 per day for days I know I'll be having a table service meal. I always end up with money leftover but I'd rather have money leftover than have to worry about how much I'm spending on food. I've actually started budgeting $75 per day every day just to simplify the budget.
