As much of a foodie as the two of you are (more you, than Drew) and I am, one day we need to coincide one of our Disney trips....for at least one meal and better yet the F&W Fest! Just an idea but probably a great one!

I can only hope!



Will be there this Fall for my first ever F&W Fest, which is insane with 11 trips under my belt!

We've considered an early October trip as Drew's birhday gift primarily for MNSSHP. Now that adults can't wear costumes, and party ticket prices are heading to the moon, I dunno that we'll ever do the party, which truly stinks.

Unfortunately, we probably wouldn't be much fun at F&WF--multiple food allergies between us, and neither can drink alcohol.

However, a TS timeout for a fancy dinner? That would be singing our song.

As the saying goes, ya never know what might happen. "Impossible things are happening every day."

Rose and Crown lunch-- Nothing more need be said than Sticky. Toffee. Pudding.

CRT dinner-- Regrettably, I'd made myself ill and ate no more than about three leaves of a rather better salad than expected for mass-volume food. This is where I left after a glimpse of my entree, having overindulged at too many other places.

Drew said his steak was pretty good, and he enjoyed dessert although hastened back to the room to see how I was doing. (I survived, as you can see, and felt rather better by morning.)

The Boathouse lunch-- Almost six months later, I'm remembering this as a bigger disappointment than it was at the time. In fact, so much so that it didn't make the list for a return anytime soon.

My mixed greens salad was swimming in a puddle of overly vinegary vinaigrette that overwhelmed some very fresh greens. And then, my lobster roll on G-F buns had fabulous lobster on hideously dry, crumbly, flavorless buns.

Drew thought his filet ridiculously overpriced, decent but not outstanding. The problem? It was an 8-oz. filet with a little cup of frosting-thick steak sauce that was just nasty. Neither of us could imagine A) Paying $40 for no more than that, and B) Why anyone thought that sludge masquerading as steak sauce would enhance an otherwise good steak.

In short, rather disappointing after all the raves we'd seen for The Boathouse.

Trattoria al Forno dinner-- Extremely noisy, offputting to start as we like to chat while eating. Service was slow and inexpert. Appetizers spectacular.

My whole fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked but served on a bed of partially-roasted veggies, several too hard to cut with a steak knife much less chew. Drew's eggplant rollatini was superb, he said. Desserts not good enough to mention, sorry to say, as we both are BIG dessert fans.

CRT breakfast-- A VERY pleasant surprise as it was really quite good food, unexpected based on so many lukewarm reviews.

My "baked quiche" (How ELSE do you make quiche anyway?? A truly silly label.) was more cheesy scrambled eggs in a square of puff pastry than a quiche. Quite tasty, however, with goat cheese instead of a more ordinary one. With bits of sauteed mushrooms and spinach, this outstripped BOG's eggs florentine by a mile.

Drew really enjoyed the stuffed french toast, but the big thrill was a free FP for Princess Fairytale Hall due to only a couple of princesses at CRT that morning. We trotted right on over there and had a most unexpected private meeting with Anna and Elsa. The only ones on the FP line! We couldn't believe the Christmas Day magic.

Chefs de France lunch-- Unbelievably SLOW to start seating people! We had a noon ADR and weren't seated until nearly 1:00. French nonchalance about punctuality, I suppose.

Drew said the French onion soup was fantastic. I found my escargot beautifully garlicky and buttery but a wee bit overcooked.

The rest was just as good, to the point that we were too stuffed to enjoy more than a bite or two of dessert. We're going back again this year. Yummy-YUM!

Yachtsman Steakhouse (Christmas dinner)-- I had THE Most Fabulous Mixed Greens Salad! Dressing was simply perfect, evenly coating extremely fresh greens grown in The Land pavilion and supplied daily. This was everything The Boathouse's salad should have been. Drew's Caesar waa peculiar--half a head of Romaine lettuce topped with shaved Parmesan and dressing. Yeah, more like a wedge salad. Weird!

Great steaks. We both had filets. With mine, the creamiest, most garlic-laden mashed potatoes ever! Fantabulous!

Desserts were good though nothing spectacular, but that was due to what we chose. Sorbet for me and gelato topped with Amarena cherries for Drew.

And there you have the rundown of the remainder of this trip's eats.

We're definitely going back to Chefs de France and Yachtsman next trip. They've both solidly landed on our cannot-miss list.

Well, certainly a mixed bag from the remainder of your dining - some good, some definitely not so good. I guess variety is the spice of life, although it would've been much better to have just had consistently good quality food and service...

I've found that Christmas week can really jack up the wait times for ADRs unfortunately. Just too busy for their own good maybe? Glad you had some wonderful meals! We love CRT breakfast as well
