As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That night Jeremy tried to do damage control with Tasha. She wasn’t too happy. Joe was POed. The rain started fall and stayed a while. Moods were dampened, everyone was cold , wet and miserable.
Reward Challenge: They will split into 2 teams of 5. 3 at a time will battle for a ball and try to put the ball in to a basket. 3 points wins the game.
The reward: They will go to a village and get warm and feed under a roof.
Team 1: Tasha, Abi, Joe, Ciera, and Spencer
Team2: Jeremy, Stephan, Wentworth, Kimmi, and Keith
Joe, Spencer, Ciera face off against Jeremy, Fish and Wentworth.
Spencer misses and Jeremy sinks a basket for green. Next is Kimmi, Wentworth and Keith vs Tasha, Abi and Joe. Joe throws Kimmi out of the way and Keith hangs on to it. Kimmi grabs Joe’s foot and he shoves her down then shoots and ties it up. Next is Jeremy, Kimmi and Fish vs Joe, Ciera and Spencer. Spencer tackles Jeremy. Jeremy runs for the basket and Joe knocks him down. Jeremy misses.
Spencer sinks it and purple takes the lead 2-1. Next is Joe, Abi and Tasha vs Jeremy, Wentworth and Kimmi. The brawl is non stop – this is jungle ball. Kimmi clings to Tasha’s leg and Jeremy has Joe in a headlock. Tasha gets loose and sinks it to win reward. Tasha, Ciera, Abi, Spencer and Joe get the reward.
The winners head off and the rest go back to camp.
Camp: They talk about how Joe has to go.
Reward: They enjoy food and a show. Ciera breaks down and is missing her family. She gathers herself and they talk about getting Stephan out.
Camp: It’s still raining and Stephen is breaking down his stomach is hurting and he is running for the jungle a lot.
Immunity Challenge: to start Jeff gives he player a white and black rock, then tells them the challenge. They have to stand on one foot and balance a ball between a buoy and the post. Now the rocks. Jeff tells them that a construction crew is at their camp. They will waterproof it, get a fire going in the center and more. They have to have five people step out of the immunity challenge to get this incentive. White means they will give up immunity and black means they will play. The big dilemma is do you pick we or I.
The show their rocks and 8 give up the right to play, they will get the shelter. Joe and Keith are playing. Keith because he’s a competitor and Joe because he knows he needs to win to stay. Joe did for a moment entertain the thought of the white rock. They start and after a few Keith drops his ball and Joe wins.
Camp: They come back to a sweet shelter. They can finally dry off and get warm. Stephan talks about voting Ciera out because she is dangerous. Spencer says Stephan should go. So the camp is split half want Stephan and half want Ciera.
TC: They talk about the weather and how low they have been. Also they talk about the decision of the shelter and how it could be a million dollar mistake. They then vote and Jeff tallies them. Jeff then asks if anyone has an HII they may use it now and Jeremy gets up and hands one of his to Jeff telling him it was for Stephan. Ciera is voted out.
Camp: Stephan thanks Jeremy and Jeremy tells Spencer he would have done the same for him. Spencer thinks he is lying. Stephan is still falling apart.
Reward Challenge: It’s a night game. Jeff will tell them a story about Cambodia and then they have to run the jungle to 5 stations, answer a question and take the pack back to their spot and open it to see if they were right. 1 right answer will earn someone a clue to the HII.
Reward: a trip to another Island to a spa.
Stephan and Spencer take the lead. Wentworth answers a question and finds the clue. It comes down to Stephan and Spencer within seconds Stephan wins over Spencer.
That night Wentworth reads the clue and finds out the HII is under the shelter. She decides to wait till the next day to try to get it.
Stephan is told to pick someone to take and he says he needs repair an alliance and picks Tasha, then he gets to pick a second one and he takes Jeremy.
The next day they get picked up by helicopter to go to a spa resort for steak, chicken, cocktails and the works. As they relax Stephan tells Jeremy and Tasha what his advantage is.
Camp: Wentworth waits for everyone to go off. With 3 off on reward it will make it easier. Everyone goes off to do something but Abl. Wentworth is going crazy waiting on Abi. She finally goes and lays in the hammock, Wentworth sneaks under and gets it. Just as everyone is returning.
Immunity Challenge: They have to use their feet to untie a rope and drop blocks, then build a tower and place a flag in the middle.
Joe and Spencer battle this one out. Stephan’s feet are too swollen to really do this. Spencer beat Joe out by moments. For the first time Joe is in danger.
Camp: All the talk is about Joe or Stephan going, Abi is freaking out and they don’t know what to do about her. Stephan confides he will use his advantage at TC.
TC: They talk about Joe not having the neckless, about voting blacks and how alliances are emerging. Tells them they will vote and Stephan tells Jeff he want to use his advantage. Jeff has him what it is and then Stephan takes Joe’s vote. When he gets to the table he says his vote will be for Abi and that Joe’s will be for Joe.
Jeff collects them and reads them Abi has 3 votes Joe has 2 votes and Stephan has 3 votes Jeff reads the last one and Stephan is voted out!
WOW what a night. Both Ciera and Stephan gone. Made me happy.
Next week grab your tissues because it is loved ones week and someone gets hurt. It looked like it could be a bad one they had a monitor on someone’s finger. So till then stay warm, stay dry my Surviving Peeps
