Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

The Many Adventures of the Ayers’ Family - Oct 2014 TR

As you remember from my PTR, I had planned a trip that included myself, my husband, my son, my daughter, and my MIL. As you remember, my daughter’s misbehavior caused her to lose her trip, so my sister was invited to go with us. If you’d like to follow the PTR you can find it here: http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...amily-ptr.html

I am still waiting on my DSis to send me the photos that she has on her phone, but I will start us off with our first day.

Let’s get started on this TR!

October 19th, 2014 – Arrival Day – Part 1

We were up at 4:30 am and out of the door by 5:30 am. We packed and gassed up the car the evening before, so we just drove to I-26 and made our way to I-95. Around 8:00 am we stopped in Georgia for breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

I had 2 eggs and a biscuit with a sweet tea to drink.
DSis had pancakes, eggs, and bacon with coffee to drink.
DH had French toast and turkey sausage with a coca cola to drink.
DS had blueberry pancakes and bacon with a coca cola to drink.
DMil had eggs, bacon, grits, and toast with coffee to drink.
Our total came to $65.85 with tip.

We got back on the road by 9:25am and it was a pretty uneventful trip until we hit St. Augustine, Florida. My mother in law was telling us that we needed to stop in St. Augustine so that she could tour the sights. My husband very politely told her no, that this was a Disney trip, not a stop and tour Florida trip. Of course she was not happy about that and started to tell us that because of us, she’d never be able to visit St. Augustine. We continued our drive and made it to Orlando at 1:30 pm. We made a quick stop at Target Superstore to pick up a few items and then made our way to our final destination. It’s always the best feeling in the world when you see this sign:

We finally arrived at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kindani Village at 3:00 pm. We checked in and our room was not ready. Since it was so close to 4:00 pm, we just roamed around and looked at the resort. At 3:30 pm I got the text that our room was ready. We were assigned to Room 7513 for our 5 night, 6 day stay.

Once we got to our room, I unpacked our bags and we just relaxed until we headed out to our dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern and MNSSHP.

All in all it was a decent start to our trip, but what's to come will truly shock you.

Next time: Liberty Tree Tavern and MNSSHP!

Welcome aboard! I thought the room was quite lovely. It was spacious and had more than enough room for all of us. I was quite glad that we got the 2 bedroom.

The next couple of updates will surprise you...will surprise everyone.

Yay, nothing better than seeing that Disney World sign!

As you might recall from my PTR, I was posting a little bit while I was at DW, but everyone will be shocked to find out everything that happened.

Just coming on board. This sound pretty interesting. Sorry to hear about DD. My DD is 16 and know it can be rough at times. All in all I am pretty lucky though. Cannot wait to hear more!

October 19th, 2014 – LTT – Part 2

Before leaving the room, I switched my purse and changed my shoes.

Cute Purse – Just for our trip!

We walked out to our bus stop and made it to Magic Kingdom by 5:30pm. We went through bag check and we found the line for the MNSSHP entry.

We received our wristbands:

and quickly made our way through the crowds and arrived at LTT by 6:00 pm. We had a 6:25 pm reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner! YUM!

We checked in and while we sat and waited, I took some pictures.

Waiting Area:

Me and DSis:

Me and DSis's MBs:

Me and DH:

Our family was finally called for dinner and it’s the first time (out of many times this week) that we were called the (AYERRRRRRRS) family. We sounded like we were pirates and it made us laugh every time. It’s pronounced “AIRS” but people kept saying “AYYEEERRSSS”. It still makes me laugh. We were seated at a nice corner table. I loved the location of our spot but as soon as we were seated…it started.

DMiL had a fit that we were seated in the corner and claimed that they sat us there to keep us away from other diners. We had a table seated right next to us but she insisted that we were being shunned.

Drinks and food quickly came out and as soon as the selection of meats where brought out, she started to fuss that the roast beef was raw. It was lightly pink (which is how we like it) but she insisted that it was raw and started to make a scene that the food was raw. We told her if she didn't like the meat, she could just eat the other stuff and it would be fine. That calmed her down for the comment until the bill came out. She saw how much it cost and proceeded to make another scene that we had been overcharged. I was utterly mortified. I quickly paid the bill and left as quickly as I could. My sister was trying very hard to keep me calm and she did a really good job…for awhile.

Total with tip came to $200.00.

Pictures from Dinner:

Menu:

Cranberry Sauce!:

Photobucket is being difficult, so this is just a teaser for now…I will continue soon!

Up Next: MNSSHP…I go from annoyed to devastated.

Oh My. Dinner at LTT looked good, although I'm sure you could have done with less drama ...

Hope you get photobucket sorted soon, this is a cliffhanger.

Dinner was delicious and I tried to be tolerate and optimistic, but there is only so much complaining that I can take.

I know! Photobucket is being wacky today. I plan on having another update soon.
