As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Tuesday April30 As any vacation would start, I didn’t get to bed until around midnight the night before only to be woken up by the alarm at 4am. Arnaud and I got up and ready, packed last minute things and then moved on over to get the kids up. They didn’t give us too much of a hassle and soon enough we were out the door stopping at D&D on the w We made it to Philly International and our offsite parking in no time, hoped on the shuttle over to our terminal where we sky caped our bags and went off. Arnaud was sooooo excited for me to breeze through this TSA pre line; he couldn’t wait to get up to TSA.
Now, let me back track and tell you all that the day I had to go up to Newark ( about an hour and half drive for me, by myself) this whole family had just been dealing with this stomach bug that had been going around. My apt was for 730pm, but I’m no fool; I didn’t want to dare get stuck in any traffic, so I left early thinking I could get in at an earlier time. Feeling like absolute crap, I had no such luck, this guy would not take me early at all. Finally at 7pm he said OK. I was in there for about 30 min, got approved and then set off on my drive back home. I felt like total crap this day. So now we head up the escalators to TSA and see this GIANT line. Arnaud being all cool is like, follow me. Uhmmm, well, I do, only to find that this GIANT line was the TSA PRE line!!!!!! I shot him a look like you wouldn’t believe. Then this security guy was like, I have never seen this ever. However, whatever the holdup was did move really quickly and soon we were up front handing over our passports. Until then………..wait…….what happens???? OH yes. I get pulled aside for the random screening!!!!! NOW, insert the look I shot to Arnaud like you wouldn’t believe!!!!! The lady was all like, you and the kids can go on through, but you Miss will have to come with me. Honestly though, she was cool and took me right to the front of the normal line where I had to go through the whole kit and caboodle!!! Then also the scanner. As I came through and was fumbling through all my things, Arnaud was all up in my face….I’m so sorry, ya know that does happen, don’t be mad….yadda, yadda, yadda. I really had no reason to be annoyed, but I just was and needed a minute. Once we started to walk off these security guards sitting on one of the police carts started going on and on about how I had the coolest looking kids ever. They made us stop, put the kids up in the car, pose for pics to send home. They were so much fun and whipped my mood around super quick. It was great timing!!

Heading down to our gate I knew our friends, whose daughter is very good friends with Josie, were heading to Ft Lauderdale on US AIR and their flight was the same time as ours, so I kept an eye out for them so the girls could play for a bit before we had to board our flights. Well this was not such a stellar idea because now Josie thought Gia was coming to Disney, then Gia was confused wondering if she was going to Disney……..all in all, it was probably an epic fail. We quickly said bye and then I went off to take Josie to the bathroom and sent Arnaud off to get some food and drinks for us for the plane. As soon as we got to the gate they had started boarding. We decided I would sit on the aisle with Andre in the middle and Josie at the window, Arnaud would be on the aisle across from us. Everything was fine and we were ready for takeoff. Waiting, waiting, waiting……………we waited 45 min on the runway before takeoff and I thought I was going to lose my lid with the kids. They were over the top anxious, when will b in the air, why can’t I open the computer, I want this, can I have that????? Thank heavens when we finally started to blaze down that runway, I honestly am not sure if I could have taken another minute. At some point I had turned to Arnaud and asked him for some water. He said “I have a diet Pepsi”????? WHAT!!!! I asked him to get some drinks, as in water, he thought I already had some. Again, losing it. I had plenty of snacks for the kids, but now I was hungry myself. About a half hour or so into the flight, when the kids were now fine since they could have their trays down to do things, Arnaud leans over and says, “Want me to switch seats with you??””” Uhmmmm say no more………….. Once we switched seats, I read a bit of my magazine and Arnaud was sweet enough to but one of those overpriced snack bags for us. Soon enough we landed and were finally IN Orlando starting our vacation.

Walking through the airport with the kids is kinda cute because they are just so excited to be somewhere different. We went to get our bags from baggage claim and headed off to the DME. We were now on our way to the BEACH CLUB!!!!

Sounds like it's off to a rough start! I've heard a lot of people complaining about Photo bucket lately. I hope the rest of your trip is better than the airport experience!
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
No pictures but weird symbols and copy, paste, delete buttons. Sounds like a super bumpy start, but I remember another magical trip that started out less than magical. You seem to have good luck that way. So I am hoping for another.
Hopefully, I will be able to see the pics by the next update.
Sorry about the hassles to get going, but at least you are in Orlando, right? No idea what is up with photobucket, but I am actually afraid to try to learn it after all the complaints I have been reading

I thought you were going to try using Shutterfly? All you have to do is upload them into an album, and the copy them onto Passporter like you used to do with Photobucket. Photobucket lost me right after they made all of those crappy changes, and I'm not going back unless they go back to the old way.
Anyway, did they ever tell you why there was a 45 minute delay? Why do they board passengers...especially when it's going to be a plane full of kids...only to make them wait even longer? Makes no sense.
Such a rough start! Hope things get better Remind me please how old your youngest is? Did you do a completely stroller free trip, or rent one? I guess I should go back and read your pre trip. We're toying with a "spur of the moment trip" and I'm wondering, again like last year, if it's possible to go lighter in the stroller department.
Photbucket tip - it makes the pictures small, but use the IMG thumb link or the HTML thumb link to copy and past the picture.

Reason: photobucket tip
What a pain at the airport and then on the plane! Poor Arnaud, all excited to have you breeze through security!
I hear you on photobucket. I've made my peace with the new site. If you decide to stay with photobucket instead of moving to Shutterfly (don't know why I didn't try that site), use this free site: (can't get the link to show correctly, but if you coppy the following into your browser, it'll work).
VSO Image Resizer, Resize Pictures, Image Converter, Photo Resizer Light
to resize all the photos at once, and then upload to photobucket. Works so fast. I just delete the folder full of resized photos from my computer once they're in photobucket.
I hope you can solve the problem. I want to see the photos!
