As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Yes and Yes! As a single mom, I have to do housework, yard work, the weekly shopping, haul off the trash, and get us both to church on Sunday. So, I'm up early on Saturday and go go go all morning. Right now, I should be focusing on the house, so why am I on here?? Probably because I've done everything for today except the house, so I'm taking a break...oh, and we also went this morning to get our flu shots. I've been busy!

Actually, Saturday is my lazy day. I stay in bed longer and the rest of the day is mine. I still am caregiver to my DH.....but I usually don't have the grandchildren....so it's my day off, in a way. Sunday I get up early to take my mom to Mass.....she lives about 30 minutes away. When we get home (I take the 2 DGDs with me)...DD, DSiL and DGS usually are here. No schedules anymore (4 "kids" are now adults)....actually my Saturdays can be boring now.
I babysit our 19 month old granddaughter during the week, so even though I do housework and laundry over the weekend it still seems more relaxed. She keeps me on my toes! I do get the grocery shopping done during the week though so I don't have to do that on the weekend. DH is always busy doing this and that and helping out here and there. If he's lucky he gets to take the boat out and do some perch fishing. We're both looking forward to some time off though at WDW in 3 weeks!

I am another Gramma that watches little ones - DGD - 18 mos and DGS - 6 mos. I try to keep the housework and laundry kept up during the week. I try to sleep in on weekends but DD and DGD live with us so I usually hear "nite nite - I see it" from the sweetest little voice about 7 am so that doesn't usually happen. We run some errands but not really busy as a rule. Ever so often we have a weekend where there are multiple activities then several weekends with nothing. I like the nothing weekends where we sit around the house and just veg. This weekend DH is working on my car at his job so I am sitting in his little office in the warehouse.
My kids aren't involved in any sports or anything so our weekends are pretty relaxed. Like today my DH is planning to make homemade stuffed sopapillas for dinner. We will probably watch some movies and maybe go wander down to the river and relax. Unless we have plans or errands to run most of our weekends are like this.
My weekends are usually full of grocery shopping & laundry on Saturday mornings. After that is usually open for whatever comes along. We usually rent a movie on Saturday nights and spend Sunday cleaning.

Nope, no set schedule for us. I feel like we're so scheduled during the week between school, work, hw, etc that I like to take the w/e to chill out. Like today, I took DD 11 to the mall to shop for clothes then lunch together, just the girls. . DH has to work w/e sometimes too (like tonight) so that puts a damper on things
Sundays are busy for us so I pretty much try to make Saturday a "down" day and don't plan anything for that day on a regular basis. Our weedays can be very busy(especially Wed-Fri.)
Unfortunately, yes- my weekends are crazy busy... We have a schedule every weekend; but it's not a set schedule- just various scheduled events...
My oldest son is in the marching band and there is a high school football game pretty much every Friday night... He is also on the academic team and the reading bowl team; but these competitions are far less frequent...
My second son runs cross country.
My daughter runs cross country and is a cheerleader- she has a middle school football game every Saturday.
The cross country meets are often during the week; so we only a weekend meet about once per month...
And this is just the fall sports! My younger ones play soccer come spring and the older ones have other winter and spring sports as well! So, it's year round...
We have church on Sundays and almost always eat out afterwards...
This weekend in addition to everything else; we are all (all the kids plus me) running a local 5k. There is usually a "special" something going on most weekends....
Plus grocery shopping and house cleaning.
Despite that we are crazy busy; I still count down till the weekends and I still enjoy them!
Typically, we clean house Saturday mornings. Lately, it's been more like every other weekend. We go to church on Saturday nights. Every other Sunday night was have a small group meeting that I teach. Otherwise, we don't have specific plans and we often enjoy just relaxing.

Probably because I've done everything for today except the house, so I'm taking a break...oh, and we also went this morning to get our flu shots. I've been busy!
I do get the grocery shopping done during the week though so I don't have to do that on the weekend. DH is always busy doing this and that and helping out here and there. If he's lucky he gets to take the boat out and do some perch fishing. We're both looking forward to some time off though at WDW in 3 weeks!
