As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hello Everyone!! I know it's been a while since I've been very active on the boards, but as most of you know, life gets in the way and I just can't seem to find the time for myself!
But I have some time for now, so with that time, I will fill you all in on my latest Disney plans!!
As many of you may know, I had been planning a cruise for December 2013, Disney of course. It was going to be me, my DH, DS, DM, DF, DNephews. I had everything set and while figuring out prices, it just became too much money for my Mom and Dad, who were also going to be paying for our nephews. So, Mike and I did some thinking and we realized that our nephews, Nick and Alex, had NEVER been to WDW !! They are 6 and 4 respectively and I just couldn't imagine not going to WDW at least once, even if for the day! So, we talked it over and decided that we should do a family vacation to The World to introduce the boys to the Magic that is Disney. I ran some prices, looked over a few dates and found the perfect time and price!
So, I called my mother, ran everything by her and my dad and they both agreed with my choices and times. So, my mom then called my sister, ran everything by her, and she gave her permission for the boys to come with us and so, our family vacation was born!
So you are all probably wondering the details and such. I don't want to leave you hanging in suspense so, here they are:
What: The King Family Annual Disney Vacation and our nephews first trip to WDW
When: March 2-March 8th, 2013
Where: Art of Animation (Cars and Nemo)
Why: Because we love Disney and we want to introduce our nephews to the magical world of Disney! What better way than with family!
Who: Me-Shellie-26 (27 at the time of the trip)- Biggest Disney lover of anyone I know- This will be my 10th vacation to the World, 4th as a family/mommy.
DH-Mike-27- He puts up with my craziness and obsessions with Disney. I think i'm turning him to the Disney side, as he hardly fights with me about it anymore. This will be his 10th vacation to the World, 4th as a family/daddy.
DS-Aiden-4 (5 at the time of the trip)- The apple of my eye! My baby who isn't a baby anymore will be going to Pre-K this school year and is in Taekwondo. He loves Disney as much as I do! This will be his 4th trip to the World.
DM-Jeni-I'm not sure she would want me to put her age - My mom, who, no matter what, will always be my best friend. She and my dad (well, step-dad, more on that later) took my sister and I on our first trip to Disney when I was 4 and I have been in love since. This will be her 3rd trip to the world, first time since I've been an adult.
DF-Bruce-55-He is actually my Step-Father but has been in my life and been my dad since I was 4. He stood up when my bio-dad wouldn't. I don't even tell people he's my step-dad because I just consider him my only dad. He took us to our first trip to Disney and was a Disney skeptic until recently. This will be his 2nd trip to the World.
DNephew-Nickolas-6 (7 at the time of the trip)- My first nephew and a fellow red head like me! He has tons of energy and loves his Uncle (Unk as he calls him). This will be his FIRST TRIP to Disney!
DNephew-Alexander- 4 (5 at the time of the trip)- My second nephew and a huge cutie pie! He is so sweet and gentle. He and my son are only 3 months apart in age, Alex being the oldest. This will be his FIRST TRIP to Disney!
So, now you have the details of trip. Next up: Park schedule and dining plans (for now)

Before I go into the park plans, I have to fill you all in on some humorous tidbits that only you all would understand, and it's about my parents.
So, you know how we all know those people who wonder why we are all so obsessed with Disney and scratch their heads wondering why we would pay more to stay on site than save a little dough and stay off site? The same people who think "Disney is just for kids"? Well, until recently, my parents were THOSE people. That's right. They would listen to me talk about my travel plans and ask the same question over and over: "Why are you spending so much money to stay at Disney?" I got that inquisition nearly every time I went, until this last time in March of this year. My parents saw pictures and heard what we did and where we ate and how much fun Aiden had and I think finally became semi-aware of why I love Disney so much. Now fast forward to planning THIS trip. My parents gave me the green light to plan everything for them and they will just pay when I tell them they have to (smart people )They are so excited about all my plans. I told my mom last night on the phone, "Mom, I love you but I can't WAIT until the very first full night you have there and see how completely right I have been all these years and how completely WRONG you and dad have been!" She laughed and said she can't wait until she is proven wrong too. So, hopefully I make this trip memorable for everyone!
Now, onto our plans!
Another side note here, my mom will be getting one of those ECV scooters for while we are there since she has really bad knees. I've never traveled with anyone who needed one. Is there a good place to rent one from? Will she get on the bus first because she is on one or do we need a GAC for her to do that? Who can go on with her if she gets on the buses or monorails first? Sorry for all the questions. Any help would be great!
Ok, for real now, on with the show!
We will be at WDW for 6N/7D and getting 5 day park tickets without PH. I figured this being my nephews first time we should spend all day in one park since they probably won't get back to WDW any time soon. And we don't want to go to a park the day we check in because we want to explore AoA and relax so we can get into vacation mode. So, as of right now, the days look like this:
