Brent and Liz's: 'Cinderella's gonna love this!, and so will Tink!' PTR Aug 17 - 26 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Brent and Liz's: 'Cinderella's gonna love this!, and so will Tink!' PTR Aug 17 - 26
Brent and Liz: The ‘Cinderella’s gonna love this!, and so will Tink!’ Pre trip report.
Hello everyone! It’s me, Brent, and my trusted sidekick, Liz, back preparing for another trip to the world. We will be there Aug 17 - 26, so the time is just about right to start our pre trip report, and get the excitement going. Some of you have come along with us in our past journeys posted in these trip reports and know who we are. For those of you who are new to us, a brief introduction is in order. Also, if you are new to us and are interested in a little background here is a link to our latest adventure from last February: http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...-complete.html
I am Brent:
As you can probably tell from the pictures, there is no bigger fan of Cinderella than I. Cinderella is very special to me for a number of reasons that will be explained in due time to those of you who don’t already know. Also, our title implies we have prepared something special for the white gloved one this time around.
And my dearly beloved, me better half, the worlds best, greenest, Tinkerbell fan: Liz!
As you can see from the above pictures, she is quite the Tinkerbell Afficionado. I will let her explain that to you as she will most likely chime in here shortly.
We do have 6 kids between us, but once again we are going alone. Our kids are of the age they have jobs, sports teams to practice for and other parents to visit so It’s difficult to have a time when we can all go. That and they seem to have outgrown or even tired of the magic. They seem to be coming back around though and I imagine a trip with them is in the cards sometime in the future.
Liz and I are both working a half day on Friday the 17th, then hightailing it over to Detroit’s Metro airport, parking in the ramp they have and catching our 5:45 flight and hopefully arriving at MCO on time at 8:30. Should be enough time to get our rental car, get checked in at Pop and hit evening EMH at the Magic Kingdom. (That is if I may catch a nap on the plane.) If I didn’t mention it before, we are staying at Pop Century. We can’t wait to Mosey over and check out the new Art of Animation resort too!
I’ll go over our daily plans in a later installment, but here’s a quick overview:
We plan to go to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom several times, and Hollywood Studios once, as well as Animal Kingdom once. We LOOOOOVE character interaction ( I am partial to the Princesses!) so we have a few meals at Akershus Banquet Hall, and 1900 Park Faire (I proposed to Liz there back in 2009 with Cinderella’s help, so that place is pretty special to us.) We will also dine at Cape May, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, 50’s Prime Time, La Hacienda San Angel (A new one for us this trip!) Le Cellier, Tony’s Town Sqaure, Ohana, and the Plaza restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Also a new one for us!
Ok, so now here’s what I’ve done that we are sure Cinderella’s gonna just love. First of all, Cinderella is VERY special to me. She helped me propose, but her and her story have a special place in my heart. Her story helped Liz and myself learn how to love again, in a way. We both have had previous marriages that ended badly and left us quite bitter and doubting a good marriage would ever be possible for us again. A good marriage with a wonderful spouse was nothing but a dream to us for a lot of years, Well, the dream came true and Cinderella helped. So, to show my admiration and appreciation for the white gloved one, I got a tattoo!:
Now I realize these aren’t for everyone and I am 45 years old and this is my first. I thought long and hard and really wanted to do this. I look at it and it means Courage, Strength, and Perseverance to me. Courage - It takes courage to dream such a dream in the first place. Strength - To go out and get your dreams. Make your own dreams come true. Cinderella wasn’t waiting in the castle. She took matters into her own hands, went to the ball, found her Prince and made her dream come true. (With a little help from the Fairy Godmother and some animal friends) and Perseverance - She went through a lot of trials tribulations and hard times before she found her dream. I look at her on my leg and am reminded of all these things. So glad I did it and it should be healed up nicely before our trip.
Liz also got a tattoo to honor her favorite character, Tinkerbell:
I love it, it’s so pretty, and impressive what it means to her. I will let her chime in and tell you what it means to her as she would do a much better job than I could.
So what do you guys think? Are Cinderella and Tink gonna love these or what????
That’s all for now, but I will update this in the next few days with details of our daily schedules for our trip. Thanks for reading and welcome aboard! We love having you along for the ride!
Brent

So happy to be able to catch a new PTR....we will be heading down on Aug 26th.....so you never know if we might bump into each other. . Love the tattoo and what it means to you.
Yay, I love your tr's. And I love your tattoos, but I really love Liz's. I'm trying to find some new ink, and I am looking at something for the top of my foot. That is nearly perfect, but I'm looking for a saying along the lines of it is what it is, which is what my motto has been for years. I can't change that past and the future will be what it is, so perfect. Blah, listen to me blabbering on. Sorry. I'm so excited to have a new PTR to read. Can't wait for more details.
