Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Our Downtown Getaway: The Trip Report Day 2

<font color="blue"> I’m Downtown

Adventures: Me, My Mommy, Dsis, Sue, Dbro, Dennis

Dates: 10/17/03 to 10/19/03

Staying at: Celebration: The Adam’s Mark Hotel downtown Indianapolis

Celebration: Day: Day: A birthday present for Mom (Birthday was 10/5)

Day: 1 Getting there.

I got up at 6:30 am. I had to be to work at 8am. I always get up and shower, dress and take a morning nap when I have to be to work at 8. Mom got me to work on time and I kept busy enough that time flew by. Before I knew it was 1pm and time to leave. I had to go to the bank and get my money out and then we got back home and I finished packing. Sue was hoping to be home around 2:30pm but she didn’t get here till about 3pm. We packed up the car and off we went.

It takes about 30 to 40 min. to get downtown form Brownsburg. Sue drove and had no problems finding the Adams Mark. We pulled up and she decided to do Vale Parking. At $18 a night. We were checked in and up to the room by 4:30pm. We unpacked and got all settled. The room was nice. It had a separate seating area with a couch that folded out to a bed, 2 TV’s, 2 Queen Size beds and a desk. The bathroom was large with one sink inside it the tub was a regular tub/ shower. There was a dressing area out side the bath room with a sink and the closet. The length of the room was as long as our house. We were on the 16th floor facing east. Outside our window we could see the Key Bank. If that had not been there we could have seem Monument Circle. There is a Church there that we could see.

Sat for a bit then explored the Hotel. We were waiting for my brother to call. We looked in the gift shop and saw where the restaurant was right in front. We went back to the room and wait for a little bit more. Around 6ish we decide to go to the Circle Center Mall. As we were walking on the street I remembered how at WDW I could not hear my cell ring so I put my hand on the phone holder so I could fell it ring. Well lo and behold it was ringing!!!! It was my Dbro. Mom made arrangements to meet him at TDS in a half hour 6:30pm. The first stop in the Mall was Lane Bryant. Sue wanted to look at pants. We had about 25 min. to shop. At 6:30 we headed to TDS. We went in to look around. I was disappointed. They used to have Collectables but they were gone and that Adventures stuff for boys was in its place. I did get a Mufasa and Scar beanie. There was a Pirates shirt I wanted by even the 2x was too small for me.

It took my bro a half hour to get there but he made it. We were all hunger so we decide where to go a Place called the Palomino. When we got there it was an hour and a half wait. So we made Reservations for the next night at 8:30pm. We headed to another place called Boca De Pepa’s. Also another hour and a half wait. We decided to back to the Hotel and eat there at Deco. Mom and Dbro smoke so we had to sit in the bar, Tiffany Rose. The seats were uncomfortable the tables were small since it was a place to have drinks and dessert. Mom and I ordered Shrimp pasta, Dennis had a Mushroom Portabella and Sue had a Hamburger. The food was good nothing outstanding.

After eating we when for a walk around Monument Circle. The Monument was all lit up and very pretty. We then retired to the room, and sat watching TV (The ShankShaw Redemption). After the movie Dennis left and we pulled Sue’s bed out and when to bed.

Sue wanted the pull out bed so she could watch TV as she went to sleep. Mom and I got the big beds. Tomorrow we explore Downtown.

Sounds like a fun trip! Your room looked nice. Sue's hair has really grown out since your cruise. (I notice the little details, you know!) Can't wait for the rest.

<font color="blue">Adventures: Me, My Mommy, Dsis, Sue, Dbro, Dennis

Dates: 10/17/03 to 10/19/03

Staying at: the Adam’s Mark Hotel downtown Indianapolis

Celebration: A birthday present for Mom (Birthday was 10/5)

Day: 2 Downtown exploration

I got up around 8am. I took my shower, which was an experience. The tub was high up, it was a big step just to get into. The fun part was trying to get out. There was nothing to grab on to and the floor was slippery when wet. Sue had to come help me out of the shower. I dressed in my Villains tee shirt it was a beautiful day out. mom called and got us reservations for Buca de Beppo’s for 6:30 pm. Around 10, 10:30 we went down for breakfast at Deco they had a buffet. It was ok Mom and I had Fruit (not as fresh as WDW), Sausage and gravy on biscuits. Sue had scrambled eggs and bacon. I also had bacon a sausage and a waffle (not fully cooked.) It was all just Ok. I guess I’m too use to Disney.

We then walked to Monument Circle to see it during the day. There is a Civil War Museum under the monument. So we went in to look around. This is a neat little museum, which runs by donations only. I didn’t realize you could take pictures without flash so I didn’t get any. We then headed to find the Boarders Book Store. This is a big store. We spent 2 hours looking around. I found Harry Potter chocolate frogs that come with wizard cards. I bought 2. Mom want to go to a place called Market square for lunch so off we went to find it. We found out when we got there it was closed on weekends. That’s Ok I was still full from breakfast.

We walked slowly back to the Adam’s Mark looking to see if there were any other store to look in, but there were none. It was about 1:30pm when we got back to the hotel and we rested in the room till about 3pm. That when we decided to go back to the Mall. When we got to the mall Sue and I were hungry so we ate at a Johnny Rockets. It kind of like an old fashioned soda shop. The Shakes are great. I had Chicken Fingers and Sue had a hot Dog. After eating we walked around the mall. The only shop we bought from was a Christmas shop. Around 5:00pm we decided to go back to the room. Sue wanted a brownie for later so we stop to buy one I got a cookie cup with frosting in the middle. The lady told us if we buy a 3 we get one free so we got 2 more brownies. We then headed back to change and wait for my brother and his wife to show for dinner at 6:30.

Buca’s is a family style restaurant. It is filled with pictures from Italy and the menu is on the wall. They give you platters of food instead of plates. So you order one or two things off the menu and everyone shares. My Dbro asked Sue what she wanted and she said stuffed shells, he then asked me and I said Shrimp Parmesan. No one wanted this but me so it got nixed. I did know what else I wanted. Some of the words I didn’t know and I get afraid to try things I don’t know, especially at the prices they have. So we settled for TORTELLONI Meat-filled, Cream Sauce. So our order was Garlic bread with cheese, a salad, Stuffed Shells and Tortelloni and meatballs the size of ones head. My Dbro asked what some thing was and we found out the Shells had hot sausage in it. The bread came not too bad need more cheese. The salad very good. The shells came I took one by time I ate half of it my stomach started bothering me. I finish it and my mom asked what was wrong so I told her as I went for the pepto bismo I keep in my purse. Then I tried the Tortelloni. I don’t care for white sauce so I didn’t like it. the Meat ball was good too.

We did have wine with dinner that was good. My SIL asked Mom if she want Chianti (mom said yes) then asked Sue if she wanted some ( she said No) asked My Dbro (He said No). So when the drink orders were place she was surprised when I said I wanted some too. She never asked me! So she ordered a bottle of Chianti for the 3 of us. It was a house wine. I tell you most of the time my SIL makes me feel invisible. The desserts were not the great so we headed back to the hotel for some Crème brulee.

We sat in the bar and it took for ever for him to come and wait on us. Finally we got to put in our orders. He brought out the drinks Dennis had a water Sue and I Ice tea all of witch can in a humongous glass. Mom and SIL (Dana) had coffee. Dana, Sue, and I ordered the Brulee, Mom the Cheese Cake for Sue. I think they had to go to New York for that Cheese cake. It took for ever, and then when we finally did get it the Brulee didn’t have the caramelized sugar on top and we had to send it back for another year.

It was pretty good when we did get it. After that we retired to our room to watch TV. Around 11pm My DBro and SIL left and we all went to bed. Tomorrow we had to leave. Check out would be at 11am.

Next The Zoo!!
