As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

DD is 5 yrs old and is in diapers. She is average size for a 5 year old so she does not fit on changing tables in public restrooms. If I remember correctly the changing tables in the parks are big metal surfaces. The last time we were there she was MUCH smaller and the tables seemed very big, big enough for an older child but I could be remembering wrong. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. If we cannot change her in the restrooms then I was thinking the changing tables in the Baby Care Centers were large but again I'm not sure. Also, DTD, where to change her there and in restaurants, both resort and DTD? Thanks for any info!

While there, a couple came in because the wife was in a wheelchair and incontinent and needed her adult diaper changed. They brought them to a private room with a hospital bed and he changed her there. The nurses were very accomodating and even asked if he would like them to do it for him. Maybe, if the changing tables in the restrooms don't work for you, you could try the first aid stations?
I don't know if this will help, but when I was in WDW last January I had the unfortunate circumstance of spending some time in one of the first aid stations. While there, a couple came in because the wife was in a wheelchair and incontinent and needed her adult diaper changed. They brought them to a private room with a hospital bed and he changed her there. The nurses were very accomodating and even asked if he would like them to do it for him. Maybe, if the changing tables in the restrooms don't work for you, you could try the first aid stations?
First Aid is your best bet.
There is a First Aid station in each park. They have a variety of rooms available. Some rooms have a cot that is fairly low to the ground, some have a higher cot and some have a table sort of like an exam table in a doctor's office that can have the height adjusted.
With the adjustable height ones, you can have it at a good height for transfer and then raise it up for a better height for changing.

She may have to prop her feet up on the walls or lay diagonally to fit her height.

As for DTD, I think you're stuck with the usual KoalaKare baby changing stations in the restaurants & stores. My family likes to dine at Rainforest Cafe so I know that's what their bathroom has. I don't remember what World of Disney's bathroom is like --- that's the only other DTD changing area I used.
I don't know if your daughter is able to tolerate this, but do you think she might be willing to let you change her standing up? You can have her stand with her back to you so she can lean back & use you for balance while you change her. That's what we do with DS whenever we can --- he's just too squirmy otherwise!

Thanks for this info! I have been in the First Aid Stations for other things but I did not know we could change her there. I will definitely look into this just in case the regular restrooms are not an option.

Thanks! This answers my question about the companion restrooms. We could still use them for changing her standing as was suggested by someone else but changing her standing will not always be an option. The first aid station sounds like a great plan for the parks. Sounds like the biggest issue if she needs changing will be in the restaurants and DTD.

I COMPLETELY understand about having to wait for someone to get organized right in front of the changing table. They seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that other people need the changing table.
I don't think her weight will be an issue either I think her height will be though. She is around 45 inches tall. Maybe a little taller. We do change her standing on occasion and she is fine with that but some diaper changes cannot be done standing. Those times will definitely be an issue. If we are in the parks and she does not fit on a changing table in the restrooms then it sounds like the first aid stations maybe a good option. I just have to figure out DTD and the restaurants. We have ADR's for everyday of our stay. T-Rex, Tony's Town Square, Hollywood & Vine, Teppan Edo, Boma, Chef Mickey and Boma again (one breakfast and one dinner, DH saw pics and REALLY wanted to eat there). I guess if we have no other option we can leave and go to the first aid station to change her in the parks but for the places outside of the parks I don't know.

Weight won't be a problem. The ones in the restrooms are securely attached to the wall - usually on 3 sides. What they are made of varies - some stainless steel, some are some sort of a solid surface (Corian or similar).
The length varies. I have not measured, but between 34 and 48 inches. They are counter height - so about 34 inches from the ground, which may be a bit difficult to lift your daughter that high.
One thing to think about for standing in the Companion Restrooms is that they do have grab bars - exactly where varies from bathroom to bathroom. Some people find that is helpful when doing a standing diaper change.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. We are back from our wonderful vacation! We found the Baby Care Centers to be our best option. I never check First Aide out just because Baby Care was right there and not busy any of the times we went in. As far as other changing table options, sometimes we were able to find a long enough one in the restrooms but not always. I would check before heading to Baby Care just because of not being any where near Baby Care. Sometimes we would get lucky and sometimes not. World Showcase proved to be one of the most difficult places to find a large enough changing table. We ended up finding one in a companion restroom but the regular restrooms had short changing tables. Thanks for all the tips!
