Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

NOv 29th to Dec 8th Trip. 5th wedding anniversary married at Disney boardwalk

We went for our first trip ever to DW back in 06 married at the Boardwalk on Nov 29th. So now we have a 4.5 yr old who loves mickey mouse. Not so much the clubhouse mickey which i think ruined what was mickey mouse but she has all the mickeys the complete black and white mickey and complete color. Then has some house of mouse and mouse works and she watches them.
This was our 5th anniversary so we decided she was old enough to go and really enjoy the rides and to go back and celebrate for us as well.

1 thing i will do different next time is earlier flight. We didnt get in till 9pm and then by the time we got luggage and out to the rental car it was after 930. I will give a thumbs up to National. This is the 2nd time we used them. As an emerald club we just walked out and the guy saw us with all our luggage and stroller and all and said would you like to upgrade to an SUV for more room for free. Everything was smooth no hassle and we had a almost brand new car only had 1200 miles on it all for just over $100 for 9 days. Anyway being in this late another 30 minutes to our townhouse and trying to get something to eat along the way put us in after 11. Then up early to the parks the next day. Last time we did this we left early morning and got down by noon.

We always do a villa. We stayed at the Boardwalk as we had to for our wedding and really did not like it. It took us what seemed forever to get in the door down the hall to the elevator then up to our floor then down the loooooong hall. It was a 10 minute walk in total. Now that we have a child and another on the way just seems to cramped to be in a hotel. I know some love it but for us we prefer the villa. We love walking out our door to a pool and its quiet and a nice hot tub all ours. Plus there were times our daughter wanted to swim and it was really cold this time we were there the first few days and we didnt want to swim. So my wife or i would sit out on the patio while she would swim. This was nice we didnt have to make a big effort to do it just the pool is right there.

First day we did Animal Kingdom. Had i read my apps undercover tourist and touringplans.com i would have seen that was the worst park to do that day. Although we waited 5 minutes for the safari which was not bad the rest of the day was a wait. Then when we got off our first triceratops spin after waiting 10-15 minutes the line was almost twice as long as when we got on so we didnt go back. Our daughter loved the safari ride and was so excited to see all the animals.

2nd day we went to Magic Kingdom. As it was the park recomended that day. It was busier then i remember when we were there 5 years ago. As then we walked on all but pooh and peter pan. Which pooh was broken so that was why we didnt do it. This time it was busier but we still didnt wait to long. She loved the pirate ride and we ended up doing it 5x i think over the corse of our stay at WDW. She loved the magic carpets too till we rode the Astro Orbitors and then she discovered the magic carpets were no longer fun. I think she is going to be one who loves wild rides like i do when she is older. I cant do thrill rides like the roller coasters at IOA or MGM but nothing else at WDW bothers me.
We found that she loved the people mover as well. I love it because its a 12 minute ride or so where i can put my feet up and just relax. The Astro Orbitors are fun but would be great if they could do a little longer ride. 1.5 minutes is gone like that.
We ended up not hitting all the rides the first day since we knew we were coming back we wanted to save some things for the next time. Peter pan we ended up waiting on about 10 minutes in FP. Winnie the Pooh was FP about 10 minutes too.
The best part was seeing my daughter light up at the rides and laughing so hard when it would tickle her tummy

Our 3rd day was Epcot I was worried that she would not find anything there ride wise. Boy was I wrong. She loved the maltstrom ride at Norway and infact we rode it 4x. She even liked living with the land. We thought she would find it boring but she really liked it. She loved spaceship earth even though it's a slow moving ride. I was exited to see the apple part in the show when you go through the garage and see Steve wazniack there working on the first personal computer. T bad they don't mention apple by name. For those who don't know I am a big apple fan. We are an Apple household. Apple tv 2 iPad, iPhone, iPod touch.
Anyway our daughter loved the ride and we ended up riding it 3x over our 2 days in Epcot. Then we rode the ride at Mexico and she liked it and I enjoyed the addition of donald duck to the ride vs what it was back when we went in 06.
We also rode figment and nemo. But even though she loves Nemo it was not a ride she wanted to do again and again. I think it's to slow she loves faster rides.

She loved going around the world and getting her stamp in each country.

On Saturday we went to the beach and our daughter loved getting wet from the waves.
Then sunday we went back to epcot and enjoyed another day of coursse we had to ride spaceship earth again and then the land ride and over to the coca cola place and tried coke from around the world ps italy is very bitter but japan is pretty tasty.
We finished getting all our daughters stamps as the last day we were hear she fell asleep by china. Then we took a boat over to the boardwalk to get our picture taken there sine we got married there 5 years ago. But a wedding was going on so we had to cancel that idea. We did get some pictures in front of the tree outside the boardwalk hotel.
Then back to Epcot for some great evening pictures with all the lights on

The next day we went to the hard rock cafe and ate lunch. I got a private tour from one of the big wigs and he told me that Bret michales of Poison comes in quite allot and since I have been a fan of poison for years I thought it was quite cool.
Then after eating we went to MK and ride several rides before getting a spot on the fence across from pecos bill for MSEP. MK was so crowded this day and made it hard to get around with a stroller. But we went just so we could see the parade and didn't do park hopper this time.

Tuesday it was back To MK. Astro orbiters was first on the list my daughter and I loved it and didn't want it to end. Then buzz 2x then over to monsters inc and I was on screen I got to be randel in the retelling of monsters inc. next space mountain 3x. Daughter was tall enough but the way seating is thought it best to wait till next time. So I did it alone.
Then since it was so quiet in MK we hit up all the rides we wanted to do again and then the few we missed last time because of the long waits.

Wednesday was supposed to be The least busiest day at Hs so we went there. Tried to get on toy story but it wAs a long wait and we were there at park opening. Next time we won't stop to use the bathroom lol. I am not sure which line was longer FP or standby. And waiting 30-40 minutes was not going to work. I hate waiting and having a 4 yr old in tow would just not work. Looking back I think we should have waited. Since it was such a wait it was off to star tours and my daughter loved it. Wife not so much she gets motion sickness easy so wasn't so much fun for her. We ended up loving it so much we went bAck again and again. Then over to muppet vision 3D but it seems to not be A good as the 4d mickeys phillhirmagic with all the added effects. But being the muppets it's always good. Did backlot tour but daughter didn't seem to like it that well. Ten we left for lunch and did some shopping and back to HS. Funny thing is we parked one row over from where we parked earlier that morning. Then star tours Again and then over to see the lights dance.
