As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I knew from my teenage years that I would have a hard time getting pregnant due to endometriosis. We tried for 4 months before my doctor started me on Clomid. After several unsuccessful months on that, we tried injectibles and IUI. I got pregnant after two IUI cycles. That pregnancy ended at 25 weeks with a son who fought for just under 45 minutes before his little body couldn't handle anymore. At that point we started the adoption process because I knew we couldn't handle another heartbreak. Six months later I became pregnant. I had a very difficult pregnancy and spent a lot of time on bedrest, but I now have an amazing 7 year old daughter. I also have an amazing 6 year old daughter who came about just 13 months after her sister. Apparently it's true what that say in my case, stop thinking about it and it just happens.
As far as health issues from treatments...in 2006 I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had a hysterectomy. Later that year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy in early 2007. I can't say for sure if this was due to the fertility drugs, but I also can't say that I would do it any different had I known what would happen. I was led down the path I was for a reason and I wouldn't go back and change anything if given the opportunity.
I don't have children, but I lean more towards the adoption just because there are so many kids that need a family.
that being said, my parents were having trouble getting pregnant after they got married. After four years they began looking at adoption (my mom was coming up on 40, and back then any pregnancy over age 35 here in Alaska was considered too dangerous and you were basically told to abort as most doctors wouldn't touch you). They had papers signed and everything when my mom found out she was preggers with little ol' me.
They were trying to figure out if they would be able ot take the baby (it was a private adoption, the mom was going to give the baby up at birth) when they get a call that the mom had decided to keep him. "Problem" solved.
I was an only child until age 14 when our family became a foster family. My brother, Duane, was the first kid through our doors. He stayed with us for two years and then was placed back into his abusive home (our government for you), he returned to us 8 months later on the condition that his parents would lose custody and that we would adopt, my parents would not go through the heartbreak again.
Just shy of his tenth birthday he became a Reitter. He's almost 16, giving my parents grief like any teen boy would, and is happy and thriving.
My DH and I didn't want children when we first married. We decided that if we
ever wanted to raise kids we would become foster parents (which we did) and
then if we wanted to we would adopt them. Well once a child was in our home our
minds were changed and we tried to get pregnant. I then found out I had PCOS
and would need help getting pregnant. After 2 rounds of IUI and clomid we got
pregnant. We decided to not use IVF (way to $$$$) and if it didn't work then we
would just foster to adopt. Well it worked and we have a beautiful DD.
However we would have no issue with adoption. My Dsis and I were both adopted
(from seperate families) after my parents had 3 boys and decided they wanted 2
girls. My Dbrother tried to have a child but also ended up adopting a little girl
who is now 15 yo. My DH and his brother were adopted by his now father once his
DM remarried. So as you can see adoption runs in our family and I have several
friends who also adopted kids.
It's a personal choice and one I'm happy my family made.
