THE MNSSHP HHN and what electronic can I break this time TR 10.25-11.2.2009 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! Day one- Sunday October 25th
Flight time 9am JET BLUE
My first trip on JET BLUE, had to fly out of JFK
so my cousin Karen suggested I sleep at her house the night before, but first we had to go to some kind of PJ party... with screaming kids
lovely... not that I dont love kids,I just was not in the mood
I couldnt wait to get out of there. I didnt even take photos, and I love my niece and nephew to death they are the cutest ever!!
this is my darling niece Kayla I swear she is the cutest child in the world right now, not just saying because we are related
just sayin'
that is her at our last April PP LUNCH
so finally time to leave yay, we get back to Karens put the kids to bed, and relaxed for the night, I needed a beer after that, so she had a coors light yukkk better than nothing though..
I finally had lights out by 10:30, since I had to get up at 5am and leave by 5:30 I believe.
Karens husband is a Pilot for Jet Blue, so he had a flight that morning at 7:30am. Thats also how I flew for next to nothing. yay me
We arrived at JFK and took the airtran to the terminal. I checked in, I was on standby though, got my boarding pass said goodbye to Chris and headed thru security.
I found my gate and the nearest bar, *shocker I know, but my SOL would have it, was not open til 8am ... so wrong.. another reason I love PHL! those bars are always open when I get there!!
so I ordered some breakfast and told the waitress I want my pre-flight beer opened and sitting in front of me at 8am... its now 8:04
excuse me I am IMPATIENT!! plus I had to board at 8:45 or so
oh yes my flight was 9:10 am
so get that beer to me STAT. no sign of the waitress, I got the bartender I said I cant wait!
I drank it down, paid my bill, and headed to the gate.
I had to check in at the podium again to get a seat. well I got seat 1C
the aisle, yay! front row
except I had to put my suitcase up top, I cant reach!! but she said once the flight was at level she would get my bag down.
after all, I wanted my beer!
Now I didnt really take many pics on the plane like I normally do I didnt have a window seat.
I found some stuff to watch on the tv, tried to sleep, but was too excited.
then I found the holy grail on xm HAIR NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh I was a happy camper!
We had a smooth flight and landed a bit early.
I texted Jen and Lisa that I was here, Jen had already picked up Lisa and they were circling the airport waiting. My bright pink luggage was the first one off yay.
I was so excited to see them!
The first thing we did was head on over to universal studios, we had our Halloween Horror Nights tickets.
by this time it was getting lunch time and we were starving
we sat down at bubba gump shrimps, I ordered the fish sandwich and a blue moon beer.
I forgot what they ordered, I didnt take pics
I am gonna say salads!
after lunch we headed over to IOA
but not before trying on silly harry potter hats
First ride of the day, THE HULK!!
no line no waiting, we just about walked right on everything!!
then spiderman, and we get the same goofy picture every time
After spidey, we walked around thur Jurrasic park, we didnt go on it this time, I dont think we felt like getting soaked.
Then over to dueling dragons, ok remember the longest que line in history of que lines, its gone, its now bascially RIGHT THERE, still under construction though.
after we did just one side, I think fire, we headed over to suess land
but I also got some pics of HP..
I cant wait to see this land.
We then rode the cat in the hat, and headed on over to US side
it was getting time to open for HHN
coming up next- the rest of the night and our no so smooth CM at check in.

So now its time to head over to the universal side for HHN
we couldnt wait! I didnt know if it would be scary or not
I made sure I drank enough so I either wouldnt care or calm my nerves
well my fears were unfounded, it wasnt that bad.
we saw the beautiful site of a new roller coaster on our way in
however, we were not to ride it..
we had to wait for opening so my feet were sore, I plopped myself on the ground for a while.
not sure if you can see this but narrorater dude was CREEPYYYYY
it was great. AND THAT IS NOT CREEPY NARRORATOR dude sorry
We finally got in, and were all excited to ride HOLLYWOOD RIP RIDE ROCKIT, but as you can see it wasnt meant to be, had we known, we would have ridden that first thing after lunch, then went to IOA then back to US
well they were running cars, but it was closed!! we were 3 unhappy campers!!
so we had previously bought online for an additional 69.99 FRONT of the line passes, which trust me was GOLDEN and worth every single cent!
we would have only done one house with it. and maybe one or 2 rides
on our way to the first house the werewolf or dracula or something like that we found this guy
I dont even know who it is..
so off we go to the first house, which was way too dark, I couldnt see a thing, and me not knowing what to expect made sure I was in the middle of Jennifer and Lisa.
Didn't like the first house,
then we went to eat at Finnegans one of our favorite sit down places, had the beer, the bread, yummm cant remember if I took pics or not,
but I cant find any. I may have been too tired. but not to worry the rest of the trip I did, I have 1446 photos this trip.
After our yummy dinner, we saw the rocky horror picture show tribute
it was hilarious. not for children, foul language is used alot, and that is that but we enjoyed the show
oh this guy on the left, was HOT..
We headed over to the SAW house!! oh my oh my... fun fun
now there was a girl with a melted pig head on, some poor girl, who was well in her 20's at least, was crying, I mean scared to death, she had to leave the house...I was so glad we walked right in, those passes were so worth it.
We also had lots of beer o'clocks as they had extra beer/drink stands set up every 20 feet or so.
We then rode jaws I think!! haha dont remember
We also did men in black, the simpsons and then to the chucky house
wow was that insane
on entry, they had one of those spinning walls and you walked on a bridge, well, we couldnt walk straight for about an hour after that. that is one house we even had to wait about a half hr for, the line WAS INSANE about 2-3 hr WAIT
after that we were going to head home, it was well after midnight and we wanted to leave before the park closed and had crazy traffic on the way out, pediestrian and otherwise
but not before snapping some more photos of MELS DIE IN
RAT LADY-
yikes she is crazy
and creepy strangers dude
and a shot of the hard rock before we left
we found our car, which really was TEN miles away lol
well at least it felt that way walking back, we musta been at the very end of the parking lot THE OTHER WAY ugh
so off to Coronado Springs we went.
I think we arrived sometime between 1-1:30am
our luck we get the UNFUNNY CM who checked us in, he was nice, but he was trying to be funny and it just wasnt working.
I never a got a receipt, or a welcome packet.. and the reason why will be at the end of the TR
We finally got our room at RANCHOS NACHOS as we called it. what a lovely room
we unpacked our stuff and off to sleep because tomorrow is a Disney day
Coming up - our first disney day... which park?? I have no clue, i have to look at the photos haha
