Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

The Bozrah Report – The Bozrah Report – Day three: Our first crack at WWTBAMPI
The Bozrah Report – The Bozrah Report – Day three: Our first crack at WWTBAMPI
Dates: October 20th through October 26th.
Adventurers: Me: Ted (33),
DW: Robin (26),
Mom, (57)
And Grandma (82)
Resort: Disney's Old Key West Vacation Club Resort
Today is a day with no real plans. Robin and I felt like Gram and Mom would need a break today. Nope they are very refreshed and ready to go. Mickey woke us at 8:00 this morning. He always has such a great outlook on the day. We decide to go over to MGM for a bit and see what’s happening. We get over to the park at about 9:45 and head in. I have been itching to play WWTBAMPI since I saw that it was coming in April. We head over and get Fast-pass for the second show. They tell us if we come back in 30 minutes we will be able to get right in. I think this is great because I will be able to play back to back. So we’re off for a little walk. We head over to the bookstore for Coffee and Danish, well my Danish turned into an M&M cookie, and Robins turned into a chocolate chip cookie. what a great breakfast.
We head back to make the first show for WWTBAM, this is a great setup, and they have someone returning from the last show on Sunday with the 64,000-point question. So far so good. I’m answering away as fast as I can, right answer, 125,000 DOH!!! I blow it. No chance of getting in the seat now. She also gets it wrong, see ya at 32,000. Next guy comes in and makes his way up to 16,000, again I get one wrong, grrr, where is my brain today. Again we have a new person in the seat. He is answering away, show the numbers at 1000, I’m #6. Hmmm 32,000 #3 now I’m getting excited. When the buzzer sounds.
Game over, Oh well this is a warm-up game anyway.
We get right back in line anyway. I notice walking in that the other two guys are in also. #1 and #2 from the last game. I totally psyche myself out and am not in contention at all. My wife ended up #1 for a while but not when it counted. I was very proud of her anyway, so I bought her a WWTBAM pin. I think mom and Gram are bored with this so we go off for a walk. We go through the Disney exhibit. We have to do this again. There is so much to look at and it just becomes sensory overload.
We do a little browsing at the 100yr store near the entrance to the animation building. And decide we want to give WWTBAM one more shot today. We split up from Mom and gram and send them off to Indiana Jones. They really enjoy this. They got to the show just before it started and ended up with very good seats, even though the theater was about 90% full.
We get to our seats at WWTBAM and lo and behold one of the two men that were ahead of me was in the hot seat. His brother had already been in the seat during one of the shows we missed. I end up in the top 10 consistently but have no luck at this time either. I was getting a little miffed, as I am the trivia buff at the house. Robin banned me from the game for the rest of the day., as a punishment. She kept telling me it’s only a game, but I’m like I know but I want to win. : D
We had some time to kill and we were getting a little hungry so we stopped at the ABC commissary for lunch. I had a burger and Robin had a Chicken Sandwich. This was much better than the last time we were here. The food was just plain old food this time. Typical of Disney FF.
We had to meet up before the ‘Stars in Cars’ parade; this is the first of the 100 Y.O.M. parades that we caught. We got a great spot on the right hand side of the street, and I was able to get some great shots. I hope to have up on my website soon. We had the Italian director in our emceeing our section of the parade. He was very entertaining.
We decided to head out for the day and rest before dinner At Jiko’s at the AKL. Dinner was scheduled for 8:00 PM. So we headed over there at about 7:30 Pm and arrived at just about 7:50 PM. This was our first trip to the AKL. Disney imagination did a wonderful job on this hotel, and restaurants. We made it down to Jiko’s for our PS and were seated right away. I like how they have some of the kitchen right out in full view. I would even sit at the bar at counter some time to watch the chefs at work. The meals were fabulous. I had Lamb, DW had Fillet Mignon, Mom had baked Salmon in a horseradish sauce and Gram had Roasted Chicken. We all enjoyed each of our meals. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I would rate it on the higher priced end but I felt it was well worth it. Service was excellent and informative. We will definitely go back to Jiko’s again.
After dinner we decided to take a little walk around the pool and look out at the savannah. Even though it’s dark you can see a good bit of the area. It was loaded with grazing animals. We are going to have to use those DVC member points here sometime soon, My DW fell in love with this resort right then.
We headed back to our resort to finish off the rest of our relaxing evening. And hit the hay at about 11:00 PM. As we have an early start coming up tomorrow. 8:40 PS for CRT.
Coming up: The Bozrah Report – Day four: Chocolate Muffins = MMMMMMMM.
