We ate so much we thought we were going to burst trip report-Updated 1/16!! - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Day 1 Monday Dec 1
I woke up about 3am one of those I can't sleep moments. I called my sis to make sure she was awake and of course she was. The weather at home had us a bit scared because it was snowing and not just a lite snow either. After showering and finishing last minute packing I woke up dh to put luggage in the car and go to my sisters to pick her up. We get there and she's way excited and little nervous, she's never flown before and was not looking forward to it. We left home about 445am for the airport. We checked our bags at curbside, we about froze to death but it was quicker then doing it inside. We then proceded to security which went smoothly and quickly. Which we weren't sure was going to happen because sis has pins in her knee but nothing went off so we were ok. We then went to our gate and waited. We flew SWA which I had never flown before and wasn't that impressed with. At approximately 6:45am they were ready for boarding. Well I go ahead of dsis and the ticket taker lady was RUDE!!! She snatched my ticket out of my hand and I started to board the plane I realized my luggage claim tickets were attachted to my ticket. So I had to go back to that rude woman and I said you took my ticket and my luggage claim tickets were attached. She says yea yea it's over there and points to where it was. I said well can I have it? Like I said RUDE!!!! I wish I would have gotten her name but I was to excited to even worry about it. Once on the plane we had to be deiced. Needless to say we didn't take off when we were suppose to. We got a 20 min late start. Once in the air we hit alot of turbulance. Of course this being my sisters first time flying she was freaked out. I told her it will be fine. It's just alittle turbulance. We had it almost the whole time. We finally landed at MCO about 10:30am. Went straight to DME and wow were they busy. But from the time we landed in Orlando to the time we got to our hotel was only about 50 mins. Which I didn't think was bad at all. We got checked in and went on a 6 min hike to our room. Yes it was 6 mins from the front of the resort to our hotel room. I timed it one night. We were in the Country section room 6416. At least it was on the first floor. We went in and dropped off our carry ons. We then hiked up to the bus stop and went to DTD. We walked around there a bit and went to Planet Hollywood for lunch. The food was good even though I didn't get what I ordered. The service was terrible. First it took him at least 10 mins to come take our order. I ordered a bbq bacon cheeseburger I got a bbq bacon chicken sandwich. I didn't even notice it until I was almost done and Heather says that's chicken. At that point I didn't care I was starving. We had a voucher for $15 off at PH so I had it on the table and the waiter took it and said I will take care of this. Yea he took care of it alright he lost it. But I will get to that in a minute. My sister had ordered iced tea and wanted some sugar. We had to ask him for sugar 3 times before he ever brought it out. Our food even tho mine was wrong came out rather quickly. When it came time to pay the bill he brings it out and didn't discount the $15 voucher. I had to stop him and tell him. He said oh. And took the bill. About 10 mins later the manager comes out and says did you have a voucher like this one? And shows me one. I said YES! At this point I was getting pissed. She says well he can't find it are you sure you gave it to him? I went off. I said YES I GAVE IT TO HIM. I had it sitting on the table and he took it. She said ok ok and walked away. About 5 mins later he came back out with the sort of proper bill. I paid exact change and left him a $1 tip. He was lucky he got that. We then left. My sister says mom wants a PH shirt are you gonna get her one? I said I would rather not but I guess we will. So we stopped in at the outside gift shop and picked her up a pretty pink shirt. We then proceded to walk towards WoD. We shopped there for at least an hour. We also stopped by Ghiradellies for my free chocolate fix. Of course it was peppermint. Yummy. We went to the Christmas store but didn't buy anything. Didn't see any ornaments I wanted. We then headed back to the hotel. Once at the hotel our luggage had arrived and Heathers basket from Betsy's.
She loved it. She said what's that? I said well read the card. It was from Mickey Mouse. She was so excited. She opened it and looked at all the goodies that were inside. We started to unpack and got ready for our adr at Chef Mickeys.

Sorry your 1st day was not as smooth as you would want it to be. Glad your sister was ok on the flight, even after flying so much I hate when we hit turbulance...
I will never go to the PH at DTD, we stopped there on past trips and both times had the worst service.
