As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: I wont eat it!
I won't eat bony fish like salmon, etc. I'm afraid of choking on a bone. Also, the smell of Olive Oil makes me nauseaous (don't mind it when it's used as an ingredient but if I can taste it - blech! Stewed tomatoes are another holdover from childhood. My Mom and I went a few rounds one night when I wouldn't eat them.
DH also has the mayonnaise thing! No mayo, cream of anything soup, sour cream (unless hidden) - basically anything white and creamy.

Re: I wont eat it!
There's a lot of food I don't like, but one I really don't understand is mushrooms!! They're a FUNGUS! What is up with that? I want to know what the first person who ate one was thinking. How does that look tasty??
This is not ment to offend any mushroom eaters as my DD is one of them (Good going Grandma )

Re: I wont eat it!
No grits, oatmeal, hominy, or uncooked cottage cheese. Nothing that looks regurgitated.
No beets, or most boiled veggies (okra comes to mind).
No beef liver. In fact, let's just remove animal organs altogether shall we?
Yep, that about does it.

Mmmmmm.....Fung-guuuuus.
I've heard a lot of people wonder about the guy who first tried a lobster.
And I agree with Beaner about the whole "Ewww...you're eating that???" comments while you're giving something a try--it just comes off as completely oppressive. Live and let live!

Re: I wont eat it!
I forgot to mention that I will not eat any organ meat, that means no brains, tongue, heart, liver, nada nothing zip zero! ick
I won't eat jello either or ricotta cheese. Geesh! until I started saying what I wouldn't eat, I thought I ate just about everything.
mincemeat pie, nope, raisin pie(my grandpa's fav.) nope. Can't think of anything else right now tho. I do love to go to my garden and pick a green bean and chomp away(after making sure no bugs or worms).

Re: I wont eat it!
Sign me up for the list that won't do organ meat. After all, most of the organs are filters (liver, kidneys, intestines, etc.)to take the nasty stuff out of the animal's body. Now why would I want to put it in mine?
I'll pretty much try anything once, though.
Talking with a full mouth/chewing with the mouth open is my pet peeve. I don't like that "see food" thing.

I've eaten most anything that stops on my plate. The one exception is sushi.

Re: I wont eat it!
Oh I forgot a couple of hangups...
I don't eat vegetables disguised as a dessert... as in carrot cake or pumpkin pie.
And I'll eat raisins out of the box, but put them in a cereal or bake them in anything, and un huh, I'm not going near it.

Well, meat obviously, being a non-meat eater, but vinegar as well.

Re: I wont eat it!
Food pet peeves? Ok, my food MUST NOT touch on my plate and I eat one thing at the time. As for dislikes....celery is my number one hated food. I hate the smell, can't stand the texture and on top of that, it makes me gag.

Re: I wont eat it!
Good question!
Okay, so what I won't eat is any kind of fish, or anything with tomatoe. I know, I know, that's a lot of things. And no, I don't eat the traditional pizza sauce folks. But I love pizza that has no sauce. Try it sometime. Its very good. I've converted many!
I don't really have a pet peeve about food. I don't LIKE the food on my plate to touch each other, but its not truly a pet peeve. (I've grown up and can adjust, I guess.)
Funny story about food when I was a toddler. I was highly anemic and so I just about had to eat liver. Well, once a week, on Fridays, I would get to leave the house (otherwise, I was stuck in and my mother had to give anyone who wanted to come in a complete physical since I would pick up any little sick bug they may have). The first stop would be to the dr. for a shot of gamma-goblin (sp?). If there were sick kids inside the dr.'s office, then he came out to the car with my shot and my lollypop. The second stop was to my aunt's house where I had "auntie's steak." Yup, you guessed it, it was liver. My three big sisters were SWORN to secrecy. They couldn't tell me. To this day, I won't eat liver, and I tell my mother its because she lied to me. I bet I like it, too. Funny, huh?
By the way, just to show you that God has a sense of humor, I married into an Italian family. Go figure! They haven't kicked me out yet, so that's a good sign.

Re: I wont eat it!
At the top of my food aversion list is honey. Yuck! Unfortunately, the list is rather long so I won't bore you with the details.
As far as pet peeve's go, mine is when people drink their warm sugary discolored leftover milk out of the cereal bowl. That just grosses me out completely. Then, some goofball came up with the idea of a bowl with a straw coming up out of the bowl so you can suck the gross milk out -- I gag at the very sight of these bowls.

Re: I wont eat it!
I'm with Wendy, no liver here.
Also, Manhattan Clam Chowder (or really any fish in white sauce) makes me gag.

Re: I wont eat it!
EGGS! oh eww! never touch them...or anything that might remind me of them. Fish is only consumable when it is battered and deep fried. I eat nothing that has a head on it or eyes...or anything slimey out of a shell. Cheeze is only for sandwhiches and pizza....and Katchup is only to be put on a burger or hotdog....anything els is just crazy. My DH will ruin an awesome steak by smothering it in Katchup!
I hate to see people mix all of their food together...like meatloaf and mashed potatoes all in one bite....NO!
