Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Apparently Ben told him to look for a certain type of flower. That was funny! That Ben is a real wierd bird. I could not believe how cold he was when he said "So what" or something like that to the fact that he just started the bomb on the freighter.

Our family is really loving Ben. I am hoping that he receives a much deserved Emmy nomination. This season I would say that he definitely is the most deserving on this show. Then maybe Sun for her portrayal of the greiving widow both in the helicopter and more subtly at the birth of their daughter and in the cemetary.

Ok, for an out there theory......Jin WAS on the back end of the boat when it exploded....it very well could be that he was thrown from it, and swept into the electromagneticspacetimethingamagigy radius of the island and is still on it. That's what I'm going with for now anyway. And if Sawyer and Juliet end up together, I will not be a happy camper. She has never ever sat right with me. I'm still of the mind that something was done to Jack during his time with the others. Why else would Mr. Skeptical put so much trust in Juliet so quickly? And after another viewing, what the h is Sun up to anyway? Is she really trying to form an alliance with Widmore, knowing he may be her only way back to the island (to find Jin!!!), or is she luring him into her trap, said the spider to the fly?
So many funny Ben moments in this finale too! I'm so glad he's still in the picture! So maybe next season we find out the origin of the "others"?? And if Locke was the "one" all along, why was Alpert so upset when at 5 he grabbed the knife?

Ben is a great character. A real sociopath. I was so touched by Sun's helicopter scene. Just looking the the other's faces while she was upset was touching also.

Good Question. That was similar to some test that I think they give kids to see of they are the next Dali Lama. I'm gong to have to look that up. Dose anyone know why Alpeert doesn't age?

I don't think he appears to age because he time travels.

Oh wow, we just got back from our weekend away and watched the finale - how awesome was that?!

I am so pleased that Desmond and Penny are back together, that was such a lovely surprise. Interesting about Locke being in the coffin - somehow I knew it was him. Having studied political theory, I realised where I knew the name Jeremy Bentham from early on in the episode and figured the link to Locke. Never knew my degree would come in so handy with Lost!

I really am fascinated to see where this goes next - a great double episode and roll on the next season!

I'm one who thinks that Jin might have made a last minute dive off the boat and, depending on how close they were to the island, I'm hoping that survivors of the explosion and the people on the zodiac were also pulled into the "phenomenon" and taken to the new place. (Remember the big water ripple they saw when the island disappeared?)

As for Ben's parka, they make a big point about showing that he cut himself on the arm and it's the same cut and same parka he was wearing when he landed in the desert in 2005. I think the parka was just to go to the big frozen wheel and that he was blasted across time and space to the desert.

I haven't had a chance to read Lostpedia's take on this ep, but I will.

Yeah, they showed us that to let us connect that he "jumped" to Tunisia about 10 months in the future after turning that wheel...

I'm still sticking by my thoughts of
A) Jin jumped off the freighter in some way shape or form, was picked up by Faraday (b/c he has a storyline to be told next season, so I just don't see them killing him off)....and they either made it back to the island before it moved or got sucked into the vortex of it whilst it moved....

B)That dang wheel is the center of the earth. That's why the island is so special... so by going down that far and turning that ancient wheel, Ben turned the earth on it's axis so to speak, moving the island and he traveled 10 months into the future as we saw in a previous episode

C)Since what happened when Ben moved the island is what appeared to happen when Desmond turned the key, and since Ben traveled after it happened and Desmond traveled after it happened.. I think the same thing happened back then. I think the island moved which helped in causing it to be seen and to be found....

edited to add
D)I think Charlotte may very well be Ben's Annie..... I have read that Annie will come back to play a HUGE role in Ben's life and the way Miles spoke to Charlotte about her always trying to find her way back was a big clue towards something...

Just my CRAZY out there thoughts.....but I like them

See some of our geeksquad are of the mind that Charlotte may actually be Ben and Annie's child..........We never saw Annie in the Dharma slaughter, and I'm sure Ben would have made a point to save her beforehand or pay some homage to her afterwards if she indeed did die in it. I don't think he would have dumped her in the mass grave with the others. Charlotte did say she had been looking for the place she was born......I know I know...you cannot give birth on the island, but I think Ben would have sent her someplace else to give birth and then return.......

I am SOOOOO glad that this was on the week BEFORE I had surgery. I would never have been able to wrap my mind around this if I was still wacked out on pain medication (ok, so I'm still a little wacked).

I don't think Charlotte could be Ben & Annie's child. She's too old, isn't she? Of course if she's been off the island...who knows how the hell you age! (just look at Ben!)

OK, one more question. If Locke is the one in the coffin, who is the teenage son the obit stated survived him? That was one of the main reasons I gave up the thought that it was Locke in the coffin and thought it could be Michael after last season's finale.

I am so hoping Jin jumped off the freighter and was sucked along with the island. I just can't accept the fact that he may really be dead! I really hope we will see cliffhanger ending to an episode next season where Ben offers Sun proof that Jin is still alive and on the island.

The "powers that be" have stated that there's an error in the obit from the previous season, but I don't know whether that's it.

However, since Jeremy Bentham is a psuedonym, we can bet that the other facts of that obit have been constructed as part of his fake life.
