As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

This morning, I dreamt that DDs and I were flying in a helicopter (from where I don't know, but it was a clear, bubble-like one). Partway into the flight, the pilot buckled his seatbelt and I jokingly said, "A little late with that, doncha think?" and he laughed. There was lots of chatting/laughing although I couldn't see his face. We set down in the AKL parking lot b/c DDs and I had dinner ressies at Boma, so we went in the resort, got on the elevator and a man yelled, "Hold the door!" and jumped on. It was my Dad! He'd come to surprise us by staying a few days. That's when I woke up. It was an awesome dream and I wanted to go back to sleep to finish it.

I don't often have Disney dreams, which I find weird, but recently I did. I dreamed we met an elderly man in a wheelchair at MK whose assistant/nurse was a party pooper, not letting him do much. Stefanie befriended him (which is so true to real life) and we ended up taking care of him for the rest of the day. Later when we were back home, he called to thank us for the magical time he had had, and then he asked Stefanie what he could do for us. She told him we needed a bigger house, so she could have her own suite with a TV area, bedroom and large bath,. She also mentioned her Daddy needed a basement for his Batman and train collection. She turned from the phone and told me he said he'd build us a new house. Now that was a dream! Of course, right as it became hugely improbable, I woke up.
I remember all my dreams when I have a baby. It's always a baby boy and he's got the brightest blue eyes. He's so sweet. I always wonder that means. In my last dream he was born on March 8, 2008 early in the morning. As you may know that didn't happen.
I don't remember most of my dreams, but I do remember one I had a couple of days ago:
I was in a curling competition, and it turned ugly - I ended up with a tooth knocked out - one of my front lowers!
I had a truly bizarre one this morning. In my dream I was at the company I used to work for and was talking to someone there when I peed my pants. I walked away to go to the bathroom and when I couldn't find the bathroom I was Disney. So I got on this tram/bus that went to the airport, in my dream the airport was only like a 10 minute ride away, to go to the bathroom. I got to the airport and got off the tram only to realize that I wasn't going to be able to get to the area where you catch the tram/bus back to Disney because you had to go through security to get there. So I decide that I'll just walk around the outside of the airport to get to the tram/bus. I start walking and end up lost, so I turn around to go back to the airport entrance figuring I would have to try and get security to escort me to the tram/bus. I'm walking along this 6 lane road that's 3 lanes in each direction divided by this really long grassy area with trees that ran the entire length of the road. All of the sudden I decide to check my fannypack to make sure I have my wallet and id so I stop by this tree. As I'm looking in the fannypack and realizing that not only do I not have my wallet, id, room key or money so I figure I'll call my folks (who live in Texas) and get them to come get me and take me to Disney only to realize that I don't have my cellphone. I then hear a police siren. I look up and this black and white police car that looks like a muscle car from the fifties comes flying around the corner on it's rear wheels. There is a huge buzz cut red haired man in handcuffs trying to escape and a police officer in the backseat, 2 police officers in the front seat and the driver has a blond woman stradling his lap facing him. The driver and the woman seem to be arguing and the door swings open. The woman's upper body swings out like they'll do in figure skating when the woman has her legs wrapped around the man's waist and the driver pulls her back in to the car. As the car gets close to me I dodge behind the tree because it looks like I'm going to get by the car and then I woke up.
I definitely had our kitchen cabinets on my mind when I went to sleep last night. I guess I was worried that I would oversleep and not hear the delivery guys come this morning.
In my dream, our kitchen cabinets were delivered, but they were nothing like what we had ordered. They were shiny like they had a laquer or polyurethane coating on them. Then they were zebra striped in shades of brown that made it look it was colored in with markers. I remember turning to DBF and asking him if that was really what we had ordered. He remarked that he remembered seeing them in the store, but couldn't recall what we had finally picked out. Then as I looked around, I noticed that there was matching furniture everywhere. There was a headboard for a bed, some bookshelves and other assorted pieces. Then there tables full of collectibles including a Snow White cookie jar (I guess Disney was on the brain after all!) My mom was there, and she told me that she and my relatives were surprising us by ordering all the matching furniture to our cabinets. Then I was worried about the furniture getting wet in the garage, but turns out that we had large basement bunker with dropped ceilings (I remember the ceiling tiles! ) where all of this stuff had been delivered to. Then my dream morphed off into something else before I finally woke up.
Thankfully when our cabinets arrived this morning, they were boxed and were an oak natural wood rather than my crazy dream cabinets!
My dreams usually center around what I have yet to get done - whethr at work or around the house! Problem is, I don't remember what my brilliant solution to the problem was when I awaken!

I have one recurring dream - I am trying to call someone, and can not get the numbers right. I have this dream so much that when during a dream I go to make a phone call, I say to myself "Oh, this is a dream and I will never be able to phone whomever I am trying to".
My DD who is 19 dreams about her aunt, my sister who passed away 2 years ago, all the time. She says that it is just a regular dream, but that my sister is in it, just hanging around being in whatever scene my DD is dreaming about.
