As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Saturday evening I spent with DD at a Fall Out Boy concert. There were 4 other bands also. It started at 6:00 pm and ended at 10:45. It was at the Dodge Music Center, which is actually a pretty cool place. Half of the center is indoors with seating and the other half is outside were you sit on the grass. We had indoor seats and they were pretty good too. There were a lot of vendors and things to look at, so you didn't have to sit there the whole time and listen to very loud music. Thank goodness, because it was really loud. But we did have entertainment right in front of us. There was a young couple who couldn't keep their hands, lips and tongues to themselves, so myself and the woman next to me had a few laughs throughout the night.
Sunday I spent in a meeting after church and then off to Walmart to get our 65 pictures developed from the concert. Now I am on the computer, relaxing.
I didn't get any house stuff done this weekend, but I did manage to do a couple of loads of laundry. A wise woman once told me, "don't worry about cleaning the house it will only get dirty again anyway, enjoy your family instead."

Yesterday morning/early afternoon was spent at the ballpark After lunch, we came home and I cleaned out DS's closet And did some laundry.
Today I cleaned out my closet , more laundry, and vacuumed the entire downstairs! Plus I made dinner from scratch tonight! I've had a very productive weekend
Saturday I went to the Red Sox game, which was a blast. Then I had to wash my dog 'cause the lady behind me at the game put her drink on the floor (instead of in the cup holder 2" away from that spot ) and, of course, knocked it over and didn't realize it 'til we told her that her (cold) drink just went down my pants! The part that didn't go down my pants went all over the floor beneath my seat and, hence, my service dog. It was some kind of soda and tonic mixed drink, so she was all sticky and yucky. And, of course, by the time the game finished, the self-service dog wash place (where you don't have to lean over and you get to use HydroSurge sprayers to rinse the soap out quickly and easily) was long closed. Today (Sunday) I cleaned her leather harness (it only got on there a little bit, thankfully) and conditioned it.
That was my main excitement for the weekend. I had wanted to go out today to shop for one of my friends and her hubby who are having their first baby , but I guess I will do that tomorrow instead. That is always fun!

DD was in a hockey tournament in North Jersey this weekend so I spent quite a bit of time on the road and quite a bit of money on gas. It was a fun tournament although not a lot of competition for the girls. They won every game fairly easily. I did manage to get 3 loads of wash done Saturday morning and had breakfast with dd's daddy on Sunday morning before he left on yet another business trip.

Friday night, I went to the movies and watched Knocked Up - which, btw, I highly recommend! I spent my weekend at our local Youth Crisis Shelter. I work there 11-7 Saturdays and Sundays every week. Saturday night, I met some friends at our favorite watering hole, and Sunday night, I watched the newest Hannibal Lecter movie (Hannibal Rising)...which I thought was terrible. The end!
Friday, I went out to eat Mexican food with my friends (just like most every other Friday), and then went to Wal-mart to pick up some stuff for my upcoming trip and my lunch - then went over to a friend's house, ending up falling asleep on his couch at like, 11:30 pm and woke up at 5:30 am, drove home and went back to bed until 8:00 am. My parents were like, um, late night last night? I was like, unfortunately, no crazy stories to tell - just fell asleep during David Letterman's monolouge. Where have the days gone that I could hang until at least 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning?
Saturday, I cleaned all day - did laundry - finished unpacking from the beach and started packing for Vegas. Had lunch with a friend. That night, went on a date, was home by midnight.
Sunday - church (homecoming at my grandma's home-church, so something a little different), lunch at the local home-cookin' place, home for more laundry, packing, a nap, and a 2-hour long conversation with my sister in Illinois, including some WDW planning.
Saturday i worked but i have sunday/monday's off and sunday was my disney day and today i'm just relaxing watching my Disney Cruise planning video and catching up on the boards

We had a productive weekend also. We are putting a privacy fence around our backyard, so we cut down a few trees and hauled them off and tore out our old fence.
Yesterday we helped the youth group at our church start building a float for the parade that we have in our town each summer.
DH and I had Friday off as a vacation day and we just spent the weekend relaxing, getting stuff done around the house, etc. Oh yeah....and I turned 40!
Haha, my friend and I were joking about the weekend we had.. basically, every quintessential high school experience happened on Saturday. First, the SATs and then PROM!
Sunday was "recovery day", lol..
