Hello everyone. I wanted to find out if anyone knew how high a cat. seven stateroom is (has anyone stayed in one before?) The reason I ask is because we will be going on a Disney cruise this May and my partner is 6'7". Do you think he will have a hard time while in the stateroom? I mean he can always duck, but I was just curious so that I can give him a "heads up" as to what to expect. Thanks fr all your help guys!

As far as I can tell, all categories have 7'9" to 8-foot ceilings, or something very close to it. I have to admit that I haven't measured it, and it doesn't come up on the published statistics, but at 6-foot 1-inch myself, I'm fairly sensitive to ceilings that are lower than usual.

There are several spots where the ceilings are somewhat lower - the bathrooms (perhaps 7'3"-7'6"), as there's an approx. 3-inch step up and the the ceiling seems lower (as is typical in small bathrooms to preserve proportions), and above the sofa/convertible bed, due to the pull-down berth overhead.

Thanks Dave for your speedy response. Now I don't have to worry so much. Wow, your 6'1", that pretty tall. Can I ask, what airline do you fly when you go to Florida? I ask this because I was just wondering about leg room. Do you usually get good seats or are you cramped up when you fly? Any tips for taller passengers? Thanks again for your help.

As you guessed, airline seating can be a problem for me. I typically fly either Northwest, Spirit, or Southwest. With Northwest and Spirit you can (usually) select your seat in advance at the web site. This helps alot. Also, I make sure that I don't carry so much carryon that I'll have to stow part of it under the seat in front of me. I put as much overhead as possible.

What to avoid? Bulkhead seats. There's never enough legroom behind a bulkhead. Seats in front of bulkheads - they usually can't be reclined, and reclining is one way to greater comfort for folks with long legs. Exit row seating usually offers better legroom, so it may pay to volunteer for exit row seats when you check in - they're often not assigned in advance. There have been cases, though, when the exit row seats did not recline. You win a few, you lose a few!
