As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Wow, everybody sounds like they're doing awesome with their workouts! Way to go!!
I'm running kinda slow today, can't quite wake up.
Got up around 4am and had to take some allergy medication and now all I feel like doing is going back to bed! Gonna jump in the shower and I hope it's wakes me up, hate feeling like this in the morning!
Have a great day everybody and don't forget your water and to buckle up!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
Good morning fellow Pixies. As I sit here this morning drinking my water and eating my breakfast of fatfree yogurt and lowfat-high fiber granola, I am pondering the questions........If only the weight came off as easily as it went on
Why is it, that we can so easily gain 3 pounds in a weekend and then it takes 2 weeks to get those same 3 pounds off.
Just needed to vent a little, I am still a bit upset by my no pound loss last week. But I will buckle up and keep munching those celery stalks.

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
I hear ya, Margo! I'm still working on those 5 pounds I gained at the beginning of summer. Good news though - I dropped another one yesterday. So now I've only got 2 more to go! I've recognized that I snack at night and that's my problem. I'm in my points after supper, but then I can easily pack in another 10 or so points before bedtime. I gotta find me some willpower!!! Last night, I drank about 6 cups of water after supper to try to avoid snacking. I guess it worked. I did eat 2 points worth of BBQ mini rice cakes, but at least that was all.
Yesterday, DS and I rode bikes to the driving range again. He's taking golf lessons there. I didn't bring our membership card. We have prepaid for buckets of balls. So I sat on the bench and watched people swinging clubs. Next lesson, I'm bringing the card, and I'll swing clubs while he's learning. I'm not a golfer but I've decided to try and take it up next year. It's pretty good exercise and DH and DS seem to have so much fun. The last time I played a game was about 15 years ago and all it got me was frustrated - but maybe if I perservere.... oops, off topic
Well, have a great day, Pixies!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
Donna, when you find that late-night willpower, pick up a box or two for me, okay?
I've totally blown the last two days with late-night snacking ... and I'm pretty sure it's because it's my low-willpower time of month. TODAY WILL BE BETTER ... and I will go to bed early! LOL
Buckling up my seatbelt ... refilling my water bottle ... and away we go!
Happy Day, Pixies.

Good morning Pixies! I worked out with Denise Austin this morning, she's a little hokey for my taste, but, I certainly was feeling some of the leg workout! Have a great day!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
Hey, Pixies! Had a very BUSY couple of days getting ready to go back to school on Monday...have fallen WAY WAY off the Pixie Wagon, beginning with the donuts. Today will be better though, I just know it. Have been jogging and walking for 30 min/day, no training, though. Too stressful otherwise for extra stress on the 'mill. Good luck everyone. . .here comes Friday!

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
Hi Pixies!
You guys are all doing so good! I'm still having trouble making exercise a regular thing. I'm still getting in three to four workouts a week, just not always on the days I want to. So I guess that's still better than walking from the couch to the refrigerator.
I am happy to report that I am now down 41 lbs since March 30! Lost 4.2 last week, don't know how I did it, I had two days where I went over in points. Must have been the Big Guy Upstairs, because I know it wasn't me! lol But I'n NOT complaining!
Keep up the great job, Pixies, and don't forget your water...

Re: Pixie Chicks-Thur.8/22
A big shout out to Priscilla- way to GO on those 41 pounds! That's awesome!
Hey guys, I couldn't wait to tell ya. . .<drumroll please>. . .I ran 4 miles today in an hour and 20 minutes! Whoo hoo! Can't tell you how proud I felt when I finished, like it was such an accomplishment for someone as overweight as I am. My main goal for this first month was to get my heart- well, really my whole cardiovascular system- in better shape, and I can honestly say I feel like I've met my goal!
Well, today is Day 30, and now that I've kind of proven to myself my athletic ability (or lack thereof, haha!) I'm ready to start working on the food part. Day 31, and the one month anniversary, here we come!

Way to go, Amanda! For me, it would take days and hours, NOT hours and minutes! You go, girl!
Didja celebrate with a big glass of ice cold water?
