I am weighing the options of purchasing an annual pass for an upcoming trip. The online info says that the dining and merchandise discounts are "select" - which would indicate only certain locations. However, I cannot find a list of what is included in the discount. Or is it open to all locations but maybe not some of the premium things (like dining packages, character meals, etc.)?

Thanks for any help! WDW vet but DLR newbie (with a limited amount of time to plan this one!).

I'll do a little searching later, but I think they gave me a discount of some amount at every permanent spot where I ate...that is, everything but the carts and kiosks. I don't branch out all that far in my eating, though, so YMMV.

This is what the website says:

• Up to 20% off select merchandise at Disneyland Resort theme parks
• Up to 15% off dining throughout Disneyland Resort

So, according to that, it should be all dining (but still probably not ice cream and popcorn carts).

Since I was traveling mostly alone on this trip, I took two tours and used the AP discount on them, as well as on Mickey's Halloween Party, so I did save a good bit of money.

I did not have an AP, but I was asked if I did at virtually every eatery (QS and TS) and shop that I went to (for the purpose of applying the discount). The good news for me was that each of these places also offered discounts to DVC members.

I found that DL was MUCH more generous in the number of places offering discounts than WDW is. And they ASK to see if you are eligible for the discount. At WDW, YOU have to remember to ask if there is a discount offered.
