As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well this one is in the memory books and what great memories we have!!!! This was the first trip for our 4 y/o twin grandchildren and the 6th for Nana and Papa, We went down on Friday and enjoyed a day,Sunday, at Epcot before the rest of the family arrived via Allegiant Air at Orlando- Sanford Airport, Sunday night. The twins enjoyed their first plane ride and their Mom and Dad enjoyed not being in a car for 10 hours with them, we had taken all the luggage and strollers so we didn't have to deal with baggage claim! This airport is very easy to navigate and not busy at all. Off to the World!! They were sooo excited when we reached the entrance to WDW, we decided since it was late-9pm- to just do a walk through DD they really enjoyed the LEGO store and T-REX restaurant. We had already checked in to All -Star resorts but my daughter needed to-very easy especially this late and off to see Buzz and Woody we had rooms looking at Buzz and beside Woody they could hardly stand themselves they were so excited and this was only the beginning of how magical Disney makes the trip. Well we did need to sleep so Mickey and Minnie dreams and then MK tomorrow.
We always fly Allegiant Air too. We love how small and easy the airport is. My folks always pick us up, so I have no idea how to get to WDW from there. But it is always a pretty easy trip.
Can't wait to read more!

MK is everything I remember and more! You really need 2 days to cover it without feeling so rushed. I had prepaid for the photopass CD so on the first day we went in the park and got our pictures made we used this one pass the rest of the trip we ended up with 308 on our photopass. There are several character meet and greets and we never felt rushed the characters took time to interact and talk to them. We had decided that this trip was going to be all about the twins so we took it slow and took time out to sometimes just play like on Tom Sawyer Island and the play area in Toontown, if the line was to long and we didn't have a fastpass will just do it next time! My DGS did the Pirates League and it was awesome definantly worth the money and our DGD did BBB and truly felt like a princess. We made our way around and rode Buzz Lightyear and then watched the fireworks and made our way to the castle for dinner!! I must say it is nice dining in the castle the food was not our favorite but as I found on this trip you are paying for the atmosphere i.e. the characters! Well off to maneuver the strollers and catch the magic bus to our Mickey house we have Hollywood Studios tomorrow!
Each morning we just did cereal in the room, I am so glad because our resort was full. As we would make our way to the buses we would walk through the cafeteria to refill my mug with much needed coffee, it was always packed. I have no issues with the buses they were packed but we had 6 adults and 2 jogging strollers so I imagine we ran over a few toes~sorry~and we never really had much of a wait. On Tuesday we went to Hollywood Studios and along with everyone else went straight to Toy Story Mania and got our fastpass we enjoyed the ride but I like Buzz LightYear just as well. They went and had their picture made wit Buzz they were so excited we love Pixar! We did the Indiana Jones show and had VIP seating *YEA* and my DD was picked to be in the show her twins were so excited to see Mommy on stage! My DH and I rode Aerosmith and Tower of Terror LOVE them both. We had to cut this day short because of rain after we bought the required ponchos! My DD had made all of our dining reservations prior to our visit so tonight was 1900 Park. We went to the room to freshen up and decided to drive because of the rain. The Grand Flordian is absolutely gorgeous, maybe one day we can afford to stay here! This restaurant was best described by my DSIL as Golden Corral on steroids! The food was fine and again the characters had lots of interaction with the twins. Another late night but AK awaits!

Boy I just realized how boring my title to the trip report is...I will have to do better next time and there will be many more next times!!!
Today was our adventure to Animal Kingdom we awoke to more rain but we donned the ponchos and away we went! I have always loved AK and hoped the twins shared my enthusiasm, they did enjoy it but it doesn't have the same appeal as MK. The safari was a highlight seeing the animals up close and in their own environment was interesting to them. We took them to see a Bugs Life making sure to point out all the images in the tree the show scared them a little bit but they were ok. After walking around and playing in Dino land we made our way to Finding Nemo, they LOVED this show, it is so colorful and animated we all enjoyed it. We were done at 2:00 and being the "newbies" we decided to go to Epcot. I need to give you a little background here, we haven't been to WDW in several years so we are not savvy to the ins and out of the tickets we had a 5-day ticket and were going in the parks 4 days so we thought we could use the extra day to go in another park in the same day well as all of you know that is a no-no and we found that out when we tried to enter Epcot! A CM told us to go talk to guest services, we talked with them and now we totally understand our ticket misunderstanding and had decided to just go to DD and enjoy the rest of our day relaxing, much to our surprise they handed us complimentary tickets to go into Epcot!!!! This was just one of many magical moments we had at WDW. More to come later I have to get ready for a Super Bowl Party!
