A Disney Dream Honeymoon PTR July 18 – July 31 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Our Back Story
Who: Disney Husband To Be – Graham
Disney Obsessed Future Wife – Britt
How We Met
Graham and I met on Halloween in 2005. We were both freshman in college. I was definitely on the prowl for a man….and a intelligent man at that (all previous boyfriends were not the brightest bulbs).
I found everything I wanted in Graham; he is intelligent, handsome, and sweet.
We met through a common friend who I went to high school with. We all went to a Halloween party together and Graham and I have never been apart since. He was so goofy and outgoing. I loved that he was kind to everyone not just his friends.
It feels like we basically grew up together through college. We were both so grateful to find each other so early on in life.
FAST FORWARD…. 1 ½ years later
Graham and I went on our first ever Disney Trip for spring break!! (my obsession started early on in the relationship).
We stayed at Disney’s All Star Movies. The trip would have been perfect had I not come down with the flu. Graham caught the flu as well later on in the trip. It was truly awful and we left wanting MORE DISNEY because we felt gypped on the trip!
FAST FORWARD…..1 year later
Graham and I had to go back…we couldn’t end our Disney trip in throw up!
This time we upgraded and stayed at Disney’s Coronado Springs. We loved it there and had a wonderful view!
Overall it was a wonderful trip….UNTIL…the flight home.
Michigan was having a terrible snow storm (it was March) and Orlando was having terrible thunderstorms…our connection from MCO to CLE was delayed. We still needed to get to Detroit.
Well when we arrived in CLE they were plowing the run ways. It was TERRIBLE. We ended up missing our flight to DTW. The airport was crammed with ANGRY people needing flights or a place to stay.
At this time Graham and I had very little money (we had just been to Disney World for crying out loud!) We could not afford to spend the night at a hotel and book another flight.
So…we hooked up with two other girls who were on our flight who needed to get to DTW. We rented a car with them and they drove us from Cleveland to Detroit in one of the biggest snow storms I had ever seen.
Needless to say I was so grateful to get home alive.
FAST FORWARD… less than a year later in December
Graham and I ended up going to Disney AGAIN!! It was so beautiful during the holidays plus we got to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and it was amazing!
This is where Graham decided to propose to me! It was so cute. He proposed out on our balcony. I was completely surprised and the ring was beautiful…I picked it out
Needless to say this vacation went off without a hitch. It was PERFECT.
FAST FORWARD…to now
I am now at the tail end of wedding planning. We are getting married July 16, 2010 on Mackinac Island.

Our Wedding Plans...
Where: Mackinac Island, MI
This is our engagement photo, which was also taken on Mackinac Island, last fall!
This is a beautiful place where there are no cars allowed and everyone gets around by bike and horse and carriage. It has a great history and has many old historical buildings.
Our ceremony is taking place at The Little Stone Church.
We will be having a cello and violin duet playing for the ceremony (a quartet would literally not fit in the church it is so small)
Also my brother and brother-in-law who are great musicians will be playing The Wedding Song by Peter, Paul, and Mary. My brother will be play acoustic guitar and my brother-in-law will be singing. I am REALLY looking forward to this and it means a lot to me that they would do this for my wedding.
After the ceremony Graham and I will be going for carriage ride around the Island for pictures.
Our guests will be taking carriage rides up to the reception location for the cocktail hour. The reception is located at The Inn at Stonecliffe.
We are very excited. The reception location is also a hotel and this is where we will be staying a for a a week before the wedding as well.
At the cocktail hour a friend of our family (another musician) will be playing saxophone. I am really bummed I am going to miss this.
He will also be running the music for the dancing portion of the wedding. He is and his wife are dear friends and he was actually my music teacher in middle school!
Next...THE DRESS!!!!! I posted that I was worried about my dress fitting last week, but it went really well. The dress is a cap sleeve with an ivory beaded lace overlay. Underneath the overlay is a champagne silk.
My veil is also ivory and I have an ivory flower hair piece. I can't wait to see it all come together on the big day!!
Our flowers are going to be really nice. We decided on a lot of bright pinks and purples because the bridesmaid dresses are gold which is kind of a fall color. I can't even remember the specific flowers we picked...there were too many. I will make sure to post pictures of them when the wedding is over lol
This whole wedding planning was taking place during the most stressful time in my life. I was doing my education internship. I went to Michigan State University which has one of the best Ed programs in the country. I was a Special Education major and my internship was all year long. I would go to work Mon-Thur and on Friday I would drive to MSU and had 2 masters classes and a seminar each semester. By the end I have 12 masters credits and am qualified to teacher special education k-12, elementary education k-5 and language arts 6-8. NOW...to find a job...this will be the true challenge.
Overall, though this was probably the hardest years of my life. Take it from me...NEVER EVER EVER plan a wedding and to an internship at the same time.
All of this hard work is going to be rewarded through the amazing wedding and honeymoon we will be having....AND our new puppy that we got. Her name is MINNIE..of course...she is a Shih Tzu. We got her at 9 weeks. She is now 12 weeks old.
During the next few weeks. I need to make hair/makeup/nail appointments, confirm the songs for the duet, 2nd dress fitting, put together flower girl gifts, get our marriage license, get Minnie's fur cut, and decide on reception music we want. I am sure there is more to be done, but I can't think of it right now!!
Up Next...Honeymoon Plans...
Again..thank you all for reading this. This is the first time I posted pictures so I hope it works. Sorry ahead of time if it doesn't. Please continue to post so I am encouraged to continue lol!
